After looking on-line (Scottish Stained Glass, etc.) we tried to commission a Seattle stained glass artist to draw up a design - but the results were boring. Eventually we found Chuck Franklin and he was exactly on target with what we wanted and needed, after we showed him one of his own glass jobs on his web site. He drew up a design which echoed the example we liked, but made it new and exciting. Throughout the process he kept in contact with us to find what we liked and didn't like, etc. including sending us a packet of dozens of glass samples (we live closer to Tacoma, WA). All this and his pricing was lower than what we had been quoted by others. In the end Chuck and his wife delivered the 4 glass panels to us in person. A 100% positive experience all around and we love the work - it is the centerpiece of our house.

They decorate for other holidays as well, but Halloween and Christmas are the showstoppers. They sometimes have special performers such as Frankenstein or Santa wandering around, too. I recommend following them on Instagram for updates & schedules. It can get busy, especially at night on the weekends, but it's usually easy to find parking in the neighborhood. I definitely would suggest parking and walking around so you have time to truly take it all in and perhaps take some photos.

I'm so glad I booked and cannot wait to go back with my family who will be visiting bc WA this summer. The entrance is about half a mile drive in to the farm. You start seeing the Alpacas right away and there are so many! It's an instant high pitch voice of excitement on my part (haha). The owner and daughter were waiting for us to greet us and were so kind! We did four different activities with the Alpacas: walked up to them and gave us background info on the Alpacas and farm, we pet a one year old Alpaca and two year old, fed them, walked two other Alpacas and ended our tour in their gift shop. The gift shop we had one more daughter who walked us through the texture of fiber and how it ends as yarn. The owner's wife whom we did not meet but hope to in the future made two hats and they were beautiful! $45 each and we bought those. She's also a photographer and does photography with the Alpacas if you wanted. It was an amazing experience!

Fantastic local brewfest! This is our first brewfest around Vancouver, having recently moved to…read morethe area, but we had gone to several back in Chicagoland so had an idea of how it would work. I must say, this is the most responsible brewfest, from an amount of alcohol consumption standpoint, we've ever been to - at least compared to how they are in Chicagoland. What I mean is they have a safer & more realistic token/samples package option of 8 tokens which gets you 8 beer/cider samples (or you can use more tokens for a full-size pint) & a brewfest pint glass for $25 cash at the entrance (it is slightly less to buy ahead online). They had another package with more tokens and another for designated drivers that would not be consuming alcohol. You could also purchase individual additional tokens. The 8 token/sample package was plenty for each of us. There were around 100 different types of beers, ciders and meads to choose from. The event was well organized with all the breweries in alphabetical order so it made it easier to find a specific one and the cider/mead brewers had their own area. There was quite a bit of room under the tents if it started to drizzle or rain and plenty of outdoor space to have more room when the weather was decent, which was nice because there were a lot of people there. It was nice to have the tents & the trees in the park around if you did need a bit of cover from rain or sun...we've gone to other brewfests (back in Chicagoland) with no cover/tent/shade so if the weather was crummy or if it was blazing hot/sunny out, it sucked. There were 2 different food trucks (a German one & a BBQ one) which was really good if you planned on hanging out there for a couple hours or more to get some grub in your belly. They also had some other retail vendors with jewelry, brewery related goodies, home brewing/wine making info, etc. There were plenty of police & security around as well, both checking IDs at the entrance and walking around. They also had several port-a-pottys at one end if you needed to use the facilities. They have a well organized website, too, which listed the various breweries and what beers they would be serving and a great FAQs section. For some reason the printed version of this list at the event only listed the breweries & not the types of beers, but I'm guessing that's because they just didn't have those specifics in time before needing to get the fliers printed. If my memory serves me correctly I believe the website said the wooden beer tokens are valid at the other Vanvouver brewfest in the Summer (there might be a Fall one, too? I'm not sure on that.) so if you don't use all your tokens you can hang on to them for the next one. Most of the samples were served by volunteers and I noticed consistently they would pour my husband 25% - 50% more above the "sample" star-line on the pint glass and for me it was always right on the line or just under. Not really, complaining...just an observation.

Spider webs, strobe lights, smoke, loud noises, mostly startle scare effects and lots of scary props and fake bloody gore. The kids thought all of this was awesome. They had a great time and were definitely scared and startled often, and we adults haven't laughed so hard in forever. The kids reactions were hilarious. A few times even us adults were scared sh**less. Keep in mind that this haunt is put together by a local community member and has no sponsers. All the costs of this haunt are paid out of pocket by the event owner, which includes props, makeup, electricity etc.. ect. All personel are volunteers. Having this knowledge made us aware of the dedication this owner has to provide you with the best experience possible. We rate it #1 and give it 2 thumbs up. Was Pricing high? $15 each ( we paid $10 each for group of over 5) all the expensive props and effects, advertising costs plus time and effort needed to produce this event, weighing in all that, the fee is very understandable. Was it the best and scariest haunted house out there?? Depends on your definition of that. I don't get scared; never really have in haunted houses. But I know it's fiction and what to expect for the most part and together with that and seeing, firsthand the dedication this owner has, made it the VERY BEST haunted house we've been to. The haunt ended with a bonfire, smores and all the participants interacting with the ticket holders, that part alone was worth the costs of the tickets. The kids loved it and felt special interacting with the actors and the adults enjoyed it as well, so... It was a fun night out for all and that's almost impossible to do, please teenagers and adults in the same venue? It was AWESOME. Dr Cable was the first doctor in the area and you can still see his furniture and where he treated patients (as well as the beautiful piano for his wife that took a journey to get to them!). Learned that they have TEA & SWEETS served Fridays from 2-4 PM $5 per person in the cute little cottage in the back... wonderful place to visit! One thing to note is that the time is wrong... they are not open until 5 as stated here on yelp! Museum Hours are Friday 11:00 - 3:00, Saturday 11:00 - 3:00, Sunday 1:00 - 3:00 or tours and events any day or time by appointment.
