I came here because one of my teeth chipped, and they got back to me first. All I needed was my chipped tooth filled. They spent 2 hours taking pictures of my teeth and trying to sell me a whole new smile. When I turned them down and asked for the fill, they said they didn't have anymore time because we had "talked too long". I went to my husband's dentist the next day and got my fill. When my late mom and I moved to Las Vegas from the Chicago suburbs in 2003, we were worried about finding a good dentist since we had one in Illinois. Well, we lucked out when a card came in the mail advertising Sky Dental. Not only did we find a good dentist, but we also found a GREAT dentist working with his wife, Tran. Later my sister moved to Las Vegas and became Dr. Chiu's patient also. Dr. Chiu is very meticulous about his work. Tran is very good about explaining not only what should be done, but also the reasoning about why it should be done. Working with various insurance companies is no easy task, and Tran works very hard at getting an answer for Dr. Chiu's patients. Scammed...receptionist knew I have missing and broken front teeth. The broken teeth keep getting infected since I have incurable cancer and had just finished a round of chemo leaving me open to severe infection. I went there for a partial and tooth removal. Instead after 2 hours and listening to the receptionist tell me for 2 hours how smart Taiwanese people are, which as a former Special Ed. Teacher believe every human is smart but don't like liars or scammers , Dentist Chui states I need back teeth which I haven't had in 20 years. I left in total disbelief when the receptionist knew exactly what I was there for. This is the third dentist that did this and charge for lying to patients or use extortion and only want to do what insurance doesn't cover. Optum dental knows about it and allows these dentists to continue to scam and abuse seniors. I wrote dental board and they said I didn't use their form. Google said form wasn't necessary. Medicare dental is making these scam artists rich off of money we paid into. Optum made 15 billion profit from us yet I can't even get a tooth pulled on their crappy insurance. They know about it and allow them to abuse patients and act in their worse interests. Please file complaints on these scammers. read more

This is my family's regular dentist. We have been seeing Dr Chiu for over 8 years. we recently moved to a different side of town but we still return to see him. Dr Chiu has an amazing technic when he numbs the gum. The way he holds on to the injection makes it less painful. (i am afraid of pain!!!) He checks for height, sensitivity after a repair. They call or text you that evening after the procedure to make sure the patient is ok! They treat you as a person, not a number. They also recommend a night guard for those who grin their teeth... in short, if they foresee something - they will let you know and you can decide whether to pursue it. They practice preventive care. Dr Chiu's team is family oriented. When my kids attended another dental office - just for kids- the atmosphere was too intense... my 5 year old saw what the patient is front crying so my 5 year old followed suit. At Dr Chiu's he even blows balloons using his hand gloves and let the children draw on it! of course the kids love the stickers and little toys they give, but I love the very soft toothbrushes they give out too! Been going there for 2 years, first year I had out of network insurance but this year i was able to get in network insurance. Chan will tell you what the cost is and what your insurance pays and what you owe. She will not let you leave until you pay, then after you find out that you overpaid and will not refund the difference. She will give you every excuse not to do that. Was there in June for a crown, first visit was 3 1/2 hours long, gave me Novocain and came back in half an hour to start working on my mouth and it was wearing off. Had to do that again and took off to work on other patients. my appointment was at 3 and left there at 630. The appointment I had the following week to finish my crown was 2 1/2 hours. Also its funny that they tell me I needed more work and went to other dentist and that wasn't true. All i ask is to be fair and honest with me about my dental needs. Don't get that there. If you need the work they say you do I'd get a second opinion. read more

This business is a scam. I went there 3 weeks ago and they told me I needed a cavity on my old root canal, that I needed 3 crowns and also did not even come close to fixing the issue I came in with which was an irritated inflamed gum. They are a SCAM! They also told me I was in their network and come to find out when the bill arrived they were OUT OF NETWORK. The receptionist took my images and missed the root of the tooth I was coming in for. She was also obsessed with talking about insurance and how hard It is to get in touch and only cared about insurance. The dentist never explained what was going on during the session. He also cleaned my teeth and did a terrible job and left tons of plaque on my teeth. I went to another dentist with more legitimate professionals and they told me I did not need 3 crowns and that my teeth looked great with images and correct x rays to prove It. They also fixed the issue I was having. Do NOT go to this dentist - they are not professional and will tell you you need unnecessary dental work to clearly get insurance money. And are willing to lie and say your insurance accepts them. I will be reporting them. read more

I've been living in Vegas for six years and have been to numerous Dentist at this point. This is by far the absolute best and I don't ever plan on going anywhere else. The staff and Dr. are very friendly. What I like most is the detailed information that I receive regarding my teeth. The Dr is very thorough. I have a complete understanding of what's going on, what needs to get done, and even detailed info and images of the work being done during visits. I lost a filling on a Wednesday evening, called for an appointment on Thursday and was seen the same day. Dr Chiu was really good with the numbing shots. He is amazing and I didn't have any pain before or after the shots. Unlike other dentists I have seen in the past. I had a difficult tooth that ended up needing a root canal. Dr was insistent on completing my root canal so I would not have future pain. I was called on Friday to see how I was and Dr also called me on Sunday again to see how I was after the difficult procedure. I returned the following Friday to complete the root canal and the entire staff are very caring. I now have my tooth fixed and no pain at all! I will be back for any future dental work I need. read more

Needed a extraction of a fractured molar, they got me in hours after I called... Then after I got there they got me in the dentist chair minutes after I arrived and took an x-ray even though I told them I just wanted it pulled, however they were correct in doing so because it was found to be a difficult tooth to pull. They then carefully explained all my options if I wanted to go any other route including saving it if I chose to do so... I ended up going still with extraction, so they told me it would not be safe to extract that same day and I should go on medication for a week to prepare for what was going to be a difficult extraction... Today was the fallowing Friday and I want to say one major thing, they cared for my comfort and went out of their way providing me with so many shots of Novacaine I lost count LOL... the tooth took two hours to get out! Was a war of a job to say the least. Never once did my dentist get annoyed with the difficulty of the job... I am very happy with what they did and how much they really cared, family dentist is what they are and it really felt as if they were family on my visits so far. Have never been to a dental office that was this disgraceful! The floor had mud on it when I went in to make an appointment and a week later on my appointment day the same mud was on the floor...same place! My appointment was at 9:00 am but the Dr didn't even get there until 9:20. After exam and X-rays (and the worst cleaning I ever had, took the dr 5 minutes....I'm not kidding) the dr left the room and said the receptionist should be here soon...... 10:37 she comes walking in, no apologies for being late and making me wait for her. I guess her and the Drs time is more valuable then mine. There are two bathrooms and both looked like they were never cleaned. Feces and urine on the toilet ON not in....Gross! I held it until I got home. When I was taken to my room I looked to the room next to it and it was filled with crap! I saw a cockroach running around in there. The Dr is ok, nothing really special but he was extremely rude to his nurses and that is unacceptable especially since the nurse was the ONLY good thing I can say about Sky Dental. The front office receptionist (I later found out was Drs wife) can barely speak English and put so much pressure on me to fix my teeth before they "get problem". She tried to get me to sign a paper that she scribble some words and dollar amount on, which I wouldn't and then She said I had 11 cavities and needed 3 crowns and if I didn't do them they would go into a root canal within a year. I went to another dentist two weeks later and he said NO crowns were needed and I only had 4 cavities. Week later went to another office.... No crowns and only 4 cavities. Sky dental was the worst experience I have ever had. I thought there were health inspectors that keep these kind of places from working on people. i wouldn't even take my dog there! I live in Huntington Beach and comes to Vegas twice a year for annual business event. During the November trip ( just last week). One of my teeth was very sensitive. Therefore I looked up some local dentists and decided to visit Dr Chiu. I told the operator that I am only here for 5 days and my tooth was hurting and I just need to see the dentist ASAP. I can do before 10am or after 4:30pm due to my business event schedule. She was really nice and she got me to see the doctor at 9 am and schedule the dental assistant to come at 9AM even though they are normally having the earliest appointment at 9:30am. I was really impressed by their dedication and they came in early just for me. The doctor is really gentle and explained to me that cavity can happen and continue to be worst without pain therefore regular x-ray and check up is necessary. I think it's so right cause i don't want a serious problem later which definitely will cost me more. The procedure went well. When I got the shot to get my gum numb, the assistant was kinda tapping my shoulder to calm me down. Honestly I did not feel the shot Dr Chiu was giving me. It's a very pleasant procedure to me overall. My teeth is filled and it was close to the gum line. Doctor recommended that I should closely feel the teeth when I eat the next few days, if there is any issue, he can help me before I leave town. He even ask me if I want to come in for a follow up, I can call the office to schedule a check-up appointment. The doctor just want to make sure everything is good before I leave Vegas since it is 4 hours drive for me to come back. It has been a week and my teeth just feel good and absolutely no issue. I really like the dentist assistant Mali ( her short name). She is so friendly and helpful. I like the office and the staff. I will set up my check-up appointment with Dr Chiu in May next year for a teeth clean and hopefully everything will be good. read more

Been seeing this dentist for about 5 months now. I've never written a review, but have been so impressed I felt I needed to. The staff are knowledgeable and courteous. They've learned all of my family member's names and ask about them at each appointment. Even when my insurance changed, the receptionist was up to date and accurate with the new billing. The dentist is honest and forth-coming. My teeth are in pretty bad shape, but he never tried to sell me laser treatments or antibiotic rinses (which I've been pushed to do by many other dentists). Instead, he focused on the problem areas without shaming me or speaking condescendingly. He showed me both x-rays and photos throughout the various phases of treatment - walking me through each with a professional and appropriate explanation. And what I just can't get over - he's taken personal time out of his day (the office was decidedly closed!) to assist with a dental emergency. I have been overwhelmingly impressed with all aspects of Sky Dental and plan on remaining a patient far into the future. read more
