I kid you not, I contacted over 17 contractors for information and quotes. Some never showed up,…read moresome had outrageous quotes, some didn't know what they were talking about. And then we met Ivan. Within a few minutes I was confident this was the contractor for us. His knowledge of what we really needed, what products they would use and patience in explaining everything to us clearly helped us make our decision to go with Coquitlam Retaining Walls on the spot. Pricing was fair - right in the middle of the pack, and although they were very busy and we knew we would have to wait a couple of months for them - we decided to go with Ivan and his crew. Once here, It took them a little over a week to get everything done - A couple trips back for little tweaks here and there and keeping the neighbours happy too. The guys made recommendations on slight changes to our original plan. Listen to them, they know what they're doing, we're so glad we did! Now placing our fence will be so much easier, and our wall looks great! We are so thrilled with the work. We know our retaining wall is now solid and going to hold our property in place! The pictures don't really do it justice as we are still waiting for pavers to come and pave over the gravel up to the edge of the wall. Both neighbours - after watching Ante, Marco, Shawn, Bruno and Junior work on our wall, are hoping to have them back to do some work in their yards. Those guys are beasts! I know I've written too much but I'm just so pleased and we went through so much to get to where we're at now. if you want to save yourself a lot of time trying to find a great contractor call Coquitlam Retaining Walls first. A fabulous family run company with Ivan leading the team , Iva in the office taking care of all the paperwork and needy customers like myself, then Ante and Marco (2 more brothers) along with the rest of the crew, coming and putting it all together. Those guys work long and hard! And always pleasant and respectful. We Absolutely highly recommend Coquitlam retaining walls! Thanks to you all for putting in our wall and making us feel safe and comfortable in our home again.

After doing the work they ended up ruining some of our bushes and didn't even do all the work. When we brought up the missing work, and poor quality they immediately got defensive and started accusing us of a conspiracy to give them bad reviews. Really strange behavior. Instead of trying to fix the issue they decided to stay silent for months and only responded when we filled a complaint with BBB. At that point they got even more defensive and started saying we were difficult and when I catalogued our conversations, that were nice and pretty much ignored, they just said they have no more to say because they can't take the truth. As of right now they won't reimburse us and didn't file a proper response with the BBB but the BBB said they somehow answered in good faith, which they didn't. BBB doesn't seem to read what happened and the lack of effort of Rakes and Ladders to resolve the issue. Since this was a donation, they don't think they are liable to fulfill what we bought at the auction because they don't know how much we paid, which was almost full price. Either way, it shouldn't matter. If you donate something you are supposed to provide that service. I am still out my money and they are very unprofessional. Do not use them! I don't normally post bad reviews but this company behaved like a spoiled little child and got very aggressive. I am going to be raising this to the news so that we can get some traction and hopefully get our money back.
