Awesome fun, if you enjoy racing around the woods shooting at your friends. And why not?! If you've paintballed before, you'll know the score. If you havenm't - basically you rock up to the site, are given a space-age helmet and cammo coveralls to wear, and a gun that's filled with biodegradeable 'paintballs'. You're divided into two teams, and you tromp off into the woods after the instructors brief you on safety - and the rules of the game. Then all hell breaks loose as each team tries to 'shoot' the other team member whilst staying un-shot themselves. If you find yourself splatted then you're out of the game. But all games run only about 15-20 minutes, so you won't be down and out for long! Paintball Warminster was where I took Junior and his friends for his birthday last year (perfect for teenage boys!) and I got an immense number of 'Cool Mum' brownie points! The folks there are very helpful and professional, and really went the extra mile to make the birthday great. There's a lovely covered waiting area, where you can sit and read or just veg out in the sunny woodland atmosphere (no danger of flying paintballs as the 'civilian area' is protected by a huge fence/netting.) There's rea and coffee and cold drinks and nibbles available throughout, at the kiosk - and flushing toilets just around the corner. The meals are hearty and filling - inclusive in the price of some deals, and just the thing to tuck into after racing around for several hours. Thee time passes very quickly indeed, and it's glorious fun! Be sure to take anough money to purchase extra paintballs though, because no matter how many you think you'll need, you always need more! Totally reccomend this place, for friends having a wacky day out, or a birthday with a difference. The site also does go-karting (which we've also tried!) and has lazer-quest soon to be added to it's list of attractions. I can keep junior happy on birthday outings forever here!! read more

I bought the Groupon vouchers - my son has been desperate to go paintballing and now he is 12 he is old enough. I rang and spoke to Tracey - she was clear, helpful and not at all dismissive as I thought she might be as we were getting it 'on the cheap'! We arrived early, having been given clear directions, and saw a busy little army of orange tops getting the place ready. The place opened on time, the staff were very efficient and friendly. The equipment and clothes were in good condition and the overalls particularly were worn but immaculately laundered and pressed - clearly getting dressed in the gear is a major part of the fun ... The marshals were clear and set the right tone/balance between safety and fun. The group for the day was made up of 3 parties I believe: ourselves, a small group of boys, and a large mixed group that I assume were sixth formers. For me these people made all the difference - they were a thoroughly good bunch - for what anyone says they were a great deal better behaved and well-adjusted than we would have been as teenagers! The lunch was freshly made, and appropriate for the day that was in it. I can see that skirmish is a business and that a large part of the money is made on the sale of paintballs - frankly that is fair enough, and I can see that taking a party of kids can rack up the cost (as I am sure I will find out), but there is nothing underhand in this, and I am sure that with good planning and preaching to 'preserve your ammo' will keep the cost down, but people go to run around and splat paint, and that is worth paying a few pounds for - much better than Call of Duty. I don't normally write reviews but I can see how hard these people are trying to run a good operation and think it only fair to let them know that it is working - we had a great day out, and I am sure we will be back although probably mob-handed next time if my son has any say in it... I visited Skirmish Paintball with College right at the beginning of the year and had a great day out. Everyone says paint balls hurt but they really do not hurt lol. I believe it is quite cheap however for me it was free when I went. I got lots of time and lots of paint balls. read more

I am the new site manager at skirmish Warminster and I just wanted too add to the last review , I took over two years ago and we no longer do quad biking as a event mainly cause the quad bikes were falling apart on us the previous manager tried to keep them going but couldn't ...... My view on the centre is happy customers = good business . We no longer run quads and our new staff are qualified at everything they do , we have a new extensive range of activities at the centre aimed at kids from 6 upwards to the big kids ( mums and dads ) If you had a bad experience with us I would ask you to give a second chance and come out see us and give us your feedback on how we run now . Disappointing. Took four children quadbiking as a treat, booked well in advance. When we arrived nothing was ready, two surly teenaga girls who clearly didn't want to be there were trying to lay out the track with tyres (incompetently). We were left waiting for almost an hour. Finally they got the rather dilapidated quad bikes out and one wouldn't start, and one wouldn't stop!! Eventually they called their Uncle who came and did get the bikes working and took the kids out on the track and then through the woods (because the track was so bad and my daughter fell off). He was nice enough, but the place is falling to bits, there are paintballs everywhere, facilities are very basic and it is not well run or cared for. For what we got it was expensive. Would not recommend. Unprofessional and shabby which is a shame because it could be really good in a lovely location. read more
