I used the restroom and was ushered right away to my room to meet Jessica and start my 75 minute massage. Jessica was my massage therapist and she gets a 5 for her massage! She was absolutely amazing. I have some hip tightness and she was able to do some active muscle release techniques to loosen it up for me. She has intuitive pressure and action as she gently or with necessary force melts away tension and knots. As my boyfriend and I entered, she was welcoming. In reviews, I read how the rooms were cold and the lights were not dim, so I was pretty worried. Once we entered the room, I saw a towel over the lamp and it was the perfect temperature, which was a big relief. Also, the two glasses of cider and strawberries on the table looked perfect. The massage itself was great! My massage therapist, Danielle, was pretty gentle. Every single time she applied pressure that would hurt, I welcomed it because it felt good. I wish she focused on the spots on my back I mentioned in the beginning, and massaged harder sometimes, but it was still pleasant. My boyfriend doesn't remember the name of his massage therapist, but he said it felt good. He also said a certain area hurt sometimes just because he goes to the gym a lot. He did fall asleep, which is a good sign, and I was dosing off myself. After the lovely hour of a massage, they left us in the room where we ate the strawberries and drank the cider. Then as we finished and left the room, the massage therapists were waiting for us in the lobby with two bottles of water prepared. She had to set up a whole new room (add 10 minutes to my wait). 3) Owner demanded gratuity When my appointment was nearing, the owner called me to confirm and to ask to put a credit card on file. Huh? Why? This is a gift certificate I'm using. She says "for gratuity". Uh, ok. I will bring cash. I thought that was weird to demand such a thing. On the day of my appointment, I see that my gift certificate clearly states "gratuity included". So what's up with that? 4) Place is run down The inside of this place looks like a make-shift massage studio that was converted from somebody's garage in the heart of El Cajon.
