The Good: To start there is no business signage on the front or any type of indication that this is " Uncovered LA" literally just an all black storefront, with blacked out windows and a black iron gate door. Once you walk in though, it is very nice and looks neat and clean. Max who usually does my waxing, is pleasant. She does small talk to catch up and tries give breaks to relieve you through the waxing process which can be painful. The bad: she doesn't use any type of protective barriers on the waxing table which i find very unhygienic. I remember she stopped investing in the paper roll that you use to cover the table similar to what they use in a doctor's office before you sit on the examination table. She started reusing towels instead which i still think is pretty unsanitary. She also use reuses wash cloths to wipe your sensitive areas down and that just freaks me out every time. I've never had someone reuse wash cloths always a fresh warmed wipe. I even thought about bringing my own supplies like I do at the nails salon to not get a fungal infection, but I shouldn't have to do all that. The Ugly: my last visit I unfortunately received a bad bacterial infection after getting a wax from Max. I remember her looking for a towel to put down on the table and couldn't find one and i was in a super rush to catch a flight later that day so i just had her wipe down the black waxing table with a sanitizer wipe and i got it done. She used this same white wash cloths as per usual to wipe me down afterwards. Later that day I started to feel uncomfortable "down there" and had discharge that hasn't stoped since I go back from my trip. When I got checked, I was told it was a bacterial infection and I wont go into to much details, but I find myself having to wear a pantie liner EVERYDAY which is something I've NEVER had to worry about before. I waited a long time to post this review because I didn't want to negatively impact her business, but this experience has really changed my life and the money that I have to constantly spend on liners was definitely not worth a $60 Brazilian wax. Needless to say, I was naïve and really should have voice my concerns, but what an expensive lesson to lean. Ladies please take care of your health and always speak up if something doesn't feel right to you especially when paying for a service.

I didn't feel super reassured about what services I should get or what she would suggest which as a beauty therapist I found odd and off putting. I paid for my service and as I was leaving and asking questions about what I should do with my hair next she was still on her phone. It was an experience , Glad to see woman owned business doing their thing. I won't be back - it was overpriced for the service and lacked quite a bit in professionalism. Of course, I turned to Yelp for the scoop and zeroed in on Ms. Glen's Therapeutic Manicures & Pedicures. I finally got a chance to go see Ms. Glen and it was everything I wanted and more. It was relaxing (I fell asleep)! It was restorative! My feet felt and looked healthy and cared for. I didn't get polished which is great because I have been wanting to go natural for a while to let my nails breathe and focus on what's really happening with my toe nail health. So may things I loved (in no particular order): - Very communicative from the appointment (via phone) to the confirmation and directions (via text) - Ms. Glen greeted me at the door - The studio smells divine (really sets the tranquil mood) - The studio was intimate (just me - yay) - The space was very clean (I am a stickler for clean) - There was a complimentary water waiting on me - Ms. Glen has developed her own techniques and products which speaks to her dedication and specialization (I love people who are passionate about what they do!) - Every step of the treatment was appreciated! (very detailed, very attentive, think - pampering your feet from the in-depth massage to the parrafin to the soaks to the grooming and much much more) - I got socks! This was such a special and much needed last step that I never knew I needed. It made my feet more comfortable and protected after such a beautiful treatment. She even asked me my size. How's that for customer service! - Now this one may seem trivial but I never had to hold my feet up during the treatment unless I was transitioning from the bowl to a towel. I do not like having to do that while someone attends to the bottom of my feel or heels. Ms. Glen has it worked out where I can truly relax the whole time. I also left with one of Ms. Glen's therapeutic hand and foot oils in Lemon. She makes the oils herself! It smells so good and leaves a refreshing but not overpowering scent. It feels good oiling my feet every night. Like another reviewer said, this is not your run of the mill pedicure shop. This is a therapeutic service that is worth every penny. My goal is to make this a regular treatment. If my feet are healthy, I am healthier! Thanks Ms. Glen for such a wonderful experience! I'll be back. If your feet are in need of TLC, renewal and restoration, Ms. Glen has a carefully curated service that will leave your feet feeling brand new. I had recently purchased a soap that helps with skin discoloration. It hasn't been making any improvement in the uneven skin tone and dark marks on my feet. Turns out I just needed an appointment with Ms. Glen. The exfoliation she provided literally rubbed away 15 years from my feet. My dry scratchy heels were left supple and smooth and the calloused areas were left soft. Had I known what I was in store for I would have taken before and after pictures. She even provided socks for me to leave in, to seal in the moisture. My favorite part hands down was the massage. She kneaded into these tired soles, and I needed that! I paid a little more than the price listed (which she does quote as a base price) but she also spent almost 2x the amount of time listed. My Fiancé noticed the difference in appearance and feel immediately. I intentionally waited until 24 hours+ had passed to write this review, wanting to see if my feet would feel just as nice. THEY DO!! Ms. Glen definitely puts pride in her work and I love how she checked in throughout the process to ensure I was satisfied along the way. I recommend her service to anyone looking to give their feet a more youthful feel and look. And if your feet have severe issues that might keep you from visiting open public salons, her private suite will help you feel comfortable and secure. Right before I left, Ms. Glen threw in a bottle of her therapeutic hand & foot oil once she saw how dry my hands were. I had discussed my upcoming nuptials with her and she wanted to make sure my hands moisturized properly for my big day, even providing a demonstration on proper application. Ms. Glen is a gem!

I trusted the front desk staff to guide me, and was quoted $80 for Gel-X, builder gel removal, and French tip. At my appointment on Friday 7/18, I was unexpectedly charged $110! I was told the card on file couldn't be used for the service--only for late fees or no-shows--which made no sense. If the salon can charge the card for penalties, why not for the actual service being provided? This was especially frustrating because the appointment was a gift for a huge accomplishment of mine, from my mother, so of course I didn't have the physical card with me. On top of that I was also charged extra for nail length without warning, and billed twice for polish: $20 for gel color and $15 for French tip, even though I only received 1 design; french tip. When I asked for clarification, staff just pointed to the online pricing--but I booked in person to avoid that confusion. The experience felt misleading. I intentionally came in person to avoid confusion and relied on the staff to guide me accurately. Unfortunately, that did not happen. I would not recommend this salon to anyone. If you're considering booking here, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere for more transparent and customer-friendly service.

I came back for a refill, and two days later was in some of the most pain I've ever been in due to a cuticle infection. I voiced concerns that my skin was being cut, but they were shrugged off. After coming into the salon to show them the infection, the front desk staff was polite and helpful advising they would reach out to the owner and share photos they took of the nail. Days passed and I followed up again via phone as I didn't hear back. The owner of the salon requested PHI pertaining to the infection, including what Rx I was on, in order to even consider a refund. Initially, a gift card for the amount spent on the service was offered in lieu of a refund. I mentioned I was not comfortable receiving another service, and received a call back letting me know the owner was willing to grant a refund. Overall, the back and forth took about a week and a half. I was new to the entire gelx process, and am posting this review to let anyone else looking to embark on that journey know they should ask questions and voice their concerns. There are seemingly many happy patrons, but this was my individual experience.

The overall facial was good however it felt like it went by so fast because I couldn't really get into a relaxed date since you could hear everyone else else's conversations around you. Other than it not being very private, I would recommend this place.

It really makes a difference when you see the results almost instantly and have a great experience as well. Danica took care of me and she made sure to ask all the pre session questions to make sure I would be able to receive the treatment with the least amount of side effects. The laser itself is not too bad, feels like a very hot zap but the pain is quite low, however I did only do sideburns, cannot comment on any other body part. The sessions are so quick and easy, I'm usually in and out within 15 minutes and Danica made sure to book my next appointment right away so we have it all set up and ready to go with no delay to the treatments.
