Tri South Construction

None of the contracted work was completed, yet he's expecting me to pay full price for work that was shoddy, not done up to code, poor craftsmanship and never inspected by Peter, the general contractor with the license to perform services. Did not get a permit as required by Hamilton County. Came out to the job site once after the work started and only because I insisted due to the poor tile installation where his idea of quality control was me sending him a video of all the tiles taped in blue where they were uneven, had joint variances outside the allotment as indicated by the tile install compliance specs, and even though they used spacers none of the spacing was consistent. That was 95% of the tiles - see pictures attached. His crew backed out of the job after I complained about the poor tile install and about the hardwood floors finishing being blotchy and having t-bar marks all over the floor. He sent the hardwoods guys out to fix the t-bar marks and he only made it worse with his sanding and then expressed that mixing the top coat with amberizing makes it very hard to apply evenly and he really needs to sand the whole 1st level and redo all the slopes to make it even, after the fact, even though as "the expert" that was the application his chose. The sheen doesn't match at all (matte) compared to the original hardwoods (gloss to semi-gloss) as he never did samples so I could approve the sheen first. See attached photos. Peter decided to quit the job as he said their work would never live up to my expectations so it was better to part ways. Great customer service! Peter won't provide me with an itemized invoice for the work he claims was complete even though I asked many many times. He sent me an invoice for all the credits back for the things he didn't get to, even claiming the pantry was done when the door hadn't even been ordered and none of the shelving installed. To top it off, his crew left hot wires hanging in the attic, switches dangling (knowing I have young kids), exposed breaker panel boxes, drywall half finished (no attention to detail on sanding or properly finishing nail holes), open sewer plumbing pipes, and etc.. Horrible experience where I feel like he just took my money and left me high and dry because I challenged the poor quality of work. What's the point of hiring a GC if they don't even oversee and inspect their crews work for quality assurance and customer satisfaction?!? I've asked him to partially refund the payment made for all the incomplete and poor quality work and he went silent...so needless to say I had no other choice but to hire an inspector who specializes in litigation and file a civil suit to recoup my money, costing me more unnecessary expenses. Definitely would not recommend hiring!

Pete and his crew are great! Honest, careful, and quick. I'll be using TribSouth again in the…read morefuture when I'm ready to take on another major home project.

When…read morethe owner came out to look at the proposed project he let me know that due to current workload it may be a few weeks before he had an estimate to me. No problem. I was not in any rush. After roughly 5 weeks I called to inquire regarding the status of an estimate being completed. After an excuse of being busy, an air conditioner contractor was sent out to evaluate that aspect of the job for A3 Development. I never heard anything beyond that. I refuse to chase a business trying to give them my work and by extension my money. As disinterested as A3 Development apparently was in getting the job, I can't imagine the regret I would have if I had gone with this contractor. I'm sure neither me nor my job would have been a priority for them. Fortunately, I landed with another contractor and ended up being very happy with that alternative. I believe A3 Development actually did me a favor by being so unresponsive.

We took a shot and walked into McGrath Floor and Design and within 15 minutes had what turned out to be the solution. Rick let us take home his sample board to compare to our floor. It matched after we had spent 10 months of searching at many flooring businesses unsuccessfully to find a match. Laura ordered the product immediately and within less than a week we had the product. Rick spent the time detailing how we could fix the floor ourselves if we wanted. Instead, we used Rick's installer, Leo, and are glad we did. He was able to fix the floor with expertise and perfection. The follow up from Laura and Rick was amazing. They were all a pleasure to work with and we would recommend them to anyone.

The install involved a drawn out insurance claim with several subtleties twist and turns and back and forth. They hung in there with us and worked splendidly with the agency. They helped walk us through it all with ease, patience and professionalism. We felt listened to (like good family members) and felt we had a true advocate. We are so pleased with the install as it has transformed the bedroom. Also a very special mention to Dennis who was the project lead and a true craftsman. This is our third floor install with McGrath and my wife and I highly recommend them if your looking for that personalized touch, quality craftsmanship and total professionalism.
