However the new Swansea Central library compensates for losing it's listed building by a great expansion, amazing situation in County Hall(I'm now jealous of people working with that view!!) overlooking the sweep of Swansea Bay and the opportunity of books, cds, dvds in a far more comfy set up. Now the danger is in too much distraction when doing some study at the library, the view and opportunity of also having lunch and tea in the cafe next door!

Excellent for anyone wanting somewhere quiet to get on with some work. Excellent views over the bay. The new bendy-bus service provides regular buses to the library from anywhere in Swansea city centre.

A nice, bright and warm building too which makes it very pleasant to work in. If you have special needs and find it difficult to locate books, you can ring the staff and someone will look the things out for you before you come.

I love this library, and I get free access with a Swansea Passport i.e. I hold a card for the municipal library and asked my local library to stamp my passport.

The local history and the Welsh studies shelves are particularly well stocked with books, video CDs and DVDs. There is also a good selection of audio books. Well worth checking this place out.
