Matou was so friendly on the phone when I called and we decided on a time. I arrived on time and showed her what I wanted and she said they could totally do it but they were running a little behind schedule and she asked that I just relax and watch tv and offered me a beverage while I waited. Matou and her sisters all took their time studying the style I wanted, getting to know my hair texture and pattern and making recommendations for slight adjustments based upon my hair density and pattern which I 100% appreciated because other braid shops would've just done the style I showed them and it wouldn't have been to my liking, but Matou and her sisters took the time to make sure I got a style that would look best on me and that I would be happy with. They all literally did a portion of my style because they are each experts at different things (one did the basic braid down in the back, the other did the patterned braiding and the other finished off braiding the ends and setting the hair at the end). Pricing was also very reasonable and fair and the shop itself was clean and air conditioned. I will certainly be back for my next style!

But the person who normally cuts my hair has been on vacation for about 3 weeks and counting. I needed a trim and really did not want to do all the prep work myself this time plus travel an hour away for it. It was time for someplace nearby. I searched online and saw ill town salon was in business for over 25 years and had numerous great reviews and the photos from customers looked very well done. Tried this place and was not disappointed . I booked an appointment online which was very seamless and convenient. The salon was very nice and clean. I got there at 3:00 on the dot for my appointment and they started my hair right away. It normally takes me and exhausting 4 hours to do my own hair and I dread the task every time. I was expecting to be in the salon alllll day but she had me in and out in 2 hours! I am so impressed with the results. I got a silk press and there's really no other way to describe the feeling of my hair except SILK! I can run my fingers through it. It looks like it's not even my hair it looks like the bundles hair or something . It moves when I turn my head. I got a trim of my layers too. I was worried about how much would need to be cut off since I hadn't had a trim in about a year. She did a through job trimming without leaving me looking like Dora the Explorer . My hair still has length but no more split ends and my layers look beautiful . I don't go to salons often but next time I go to one it's definitely gonna be here.
