There is also an option for tourists, which is a 3 day pass for 165kr or 18 euro. You must use the bike in 3 hour slots, which would be a burden If its wasn't so easy to just switch out the bike at there many stations all across the city. They don't come with any lock for parking it while you pop into a shop but this is something you can easy get yourself in many places around the city. You can rent the bikes between the hours of 6am and 10pm. This will probably be my main mode of transport here :) especially now that the summer is coming :)

I'd contacted for a Merida road bike, which turned out to be exactly as described. They fitted me with a water bottle and lock, and off I was. The best part is that you can return the bike any time of day or night. They give you the combination to the front door, and you can leave the bike inside in a secure locked area, and drop off the keys. A boon for people with morning flights who do not want to stop cycling at 6pm the previous day. Also, English was no problem. The people who run it are not touristy and talkative, but work gets done with no fuss.

I really wanted to spend a day out in the Archipelago to experience more than just what Stockholm's beautiful touristed areas have to offer. The Stockholm Archipelago is the largest archipelago in Sweden, and the second-largest archipelago in the Baltic Sea. The Stockholm Archipelago has been found to have slightly over 24,000 islands, islets, and skerries and covers approximately 1,700 km² (of which approximately 530 km² is land). As far as I was concerned, we just had to spend a day exploring it while we were in Sweden. I found Stockholm Adventures after another tour company cancelled our tour a couple of days before the tour we had booked with them. Stockholm Adventures made it easy to book another tour, so we didn't have to miss the Archipelago or rework our itinerary for the trip! The sailing tour was 8 hours long, and our guides provided a wonderful Smörgåsbord lunch and Fika in the afternoon. Our guide gave us a bit of a sailing lesson (he left this up to us, whether we wanted to learn about sailing or whether we just wanted to enjoy the day), which was great (might have piqued my interest to learn more about sailing now that I'm home). Our guides were very friendly and informative; we learned so much about the way that locals view life in Stockholm, the Archipelago, and Sweden. We also were able to visit an island that serves as our guide's boat club's Archipelago home, since it wasn't a weekend. Our tour ended up just being the two of us, so the tour felt very personalized to our interests. The information on the website and that we received by email before the tour was very helpful and informative (so we knew what to bring and where to meet once we arrived in Vaxholm). The day was a pleasure from start to finish, and I'm so glad we found this tour. It really added to our trip to Sweden. I wouldn't hesitate to use the company again if we are able to return to Sweden.

I went to Tonny's Cyklar looking for a lock for the Swedish bike that I was borrowing from a…read morefriend. This bike, like many Swedish bikes, has a lock built-in but it only locks the back tire. It effectively prevents someone from riding off on the bike but it doesn't prevent them from carrying it away! So, I wanted some additional protection. Tonny was kind enough to point out that I really didn't need another lock but rather a cable that I could thread through the existing lock. Then he looked around his little store and found a used one for me which was totally fine with me. When I asked him how much he said, "No charge." That's the way to win a customer! If I lived in Stockholm I'd definitely go back to Tonny but, alas, I was just visiting Stockholm. From my brief experience with Tonny I'm guessing that you'll get a reasonable offer from him and you'll definitely get some friendly service!

When riding the bikes, the seat moves and needs continual adjustment. Although not the bike's fault, the trail is crowded with joggers, strollers, lovers, and walking groups making navigation tricky. Finding Sjöcaféet is easy. While crossing the bridge, you can see paddle boats and kayaks for rent. Head over to that area and you will see a bank of bikes waiting to be rented. Although the building says Royal Djurgården Visitor Center, it's Sjöcaféet. After telling the friendly gal that I'm interested in renting a bike, she tells me it's $8/hour and there are various free maps and other info located at the desk. After paying, you receive a key to unlock the bike for riding and locking it when not riding. To store your stuff, all the bikes have front baskets. Because the trail is so crowded, you will not be able to enjoy the scenery, but rather making sure you don't run into someone.

However they were attentive and enthusiastic in their efforts. The selection was somewhat limited given they chiefly represented thier line of ELECTRIC bikes ... but they did have another brand with an electric cargo bike + unique things like the safety collar which instantly INFLATES a crash helmet in the event of a crash! Amazing!! Anyways - if I were a local and in the market for an Electric Bike then they would be well served to stop by here and shop their stuff!

The service staff is knowledgable and friendly but, the mechanics are the exact opposite and not…read morethe most thourough. I had my bike serviced a few weeks before as I had bought the bike from cykelcity. It was changing gear fine before the service but, gradually got worse and worse and noisier each time I rode it after I got it back. I went back to see if a mechanic could spend 5 minutes tuning the gear changes (as a good bike mechanic should be able to do) and the answer from the mechanic was, "leave it with us, it'll take 5 days". It only took the 4 days to screw it up, I would think that if you do bad work, you should fix it, promptly. I understand they can be busy but, this is unacceptable.
