Horrible experience! I booked Sixt car rental through Priceline.com and was thought it should be reliable. I plan to pick up the car at airport and return at Passeig De T. When I approached the staff in their airport office. Alfredo told me the car I reserved was not available. I can pay 50euro to upgrade to Mercedes wagon. Then like the other review mentioned, he tried to give you "strong advise" buying their insurance even though I already bought it through Priceline.com. His attitude let me feel uncomfortable not buying the insurance. So I paid 135€ more just for one day rental. When I return the car to their Passeig De T office, I parked at curb at 1:45pm (I need to return by 2pm). The girl told my husband it's ok for us to park the car in underground parking. Since we got to the office by 1:45pm, if we got delay she would take care of it. Hardly we found the underground parking and return the key. When I got to the office it was 2:05pm. The female staff said it's ok and she would take care of it. we are ok to go. And now I receive a 500+€ bill saying I have 2 days rental--obvious they count the 5 min late as the second day. When I first rented the car, Alfredo told me I need to pay gas if I did not fill the full tank. Since we urgently wanted to return the car by 2pm, we are ok to let them charge the gas fee. I rented a car in barcelona. I rent cars all over the world on a very frequent basis. This is the 1st time I have rented from Sixt. While the online reservation, pickup and return process was smooth, it was 3 days later that I get this ridiculous email with damage report from sixt accusing that i had returned the car damaged. In this email, they attached images of the car with a broken window however the car was in perfect condition when i returned it. When i went to turn in the keys I specifically asked them if they could check the car to verify that i returned the car in good condition (full gas tank, no damages, etc.)and give me the final bill and they said it was not necessary and that they would email me the final invoice by the end of the day which I didnt receive for 2 days. But on the 3rd day, I get this ridiculous email claiming that the car was damaged, not just a little scratch or dent but a picture of the car with a shattered side window. Really!!! If I had returned it with the shattered window, it yook them 3 days to notice that? What a load of crap. This is the only car rental company I have used that did not have attendants waiting at the return location to check the car. It was a total of 4 minutes from the time i returned the car in their designated parking spot to the time I turned in the keys in their office and for them to print a return confirmation. Fortunately, I took a video of the whole car clearly showing the window NOT broken (with location and time stamps) upon returning it in case of events like this. I uploaded this video on their initial inquiry and also uploaded it when I filed a complaint with their corporate offices. I have yet to have this issue resolved and had to put up with their crap while on a family vacation. This is a review I wish I didn't have to write; I'm a loyal Sixt customer. I rented a car for 22 days on December 2016 at the Sixt Hilton Barcelona Diagonal Mar location. This was my second rent in this location. Unfortunately, this has been definitely the poorest Customer Service experience I have had with the company so far. Mr. Camargo Jerez was pushy when trying to sell extra insurances in a threatening-"advising" attitude. I am a Gold customer, asked if we could have a more comfortable car for my disabled mother, nothing was offered. This is something I had not experienced with Sixt before, and it goes against the very first reason I rent with Sixt in the first place. I advise the company to really keep its efforts when training Customer Service personnel, it is what differentiates you from all other companies. Do not be pushy trying to sell extra insurances, we all know the risks; no need to give threatening-like advises saying "if any scratches are made, we will charge you 600 euros", that's just cheap business-doing. Keep always the Customer first, otherwise you are just another car rental company trying to charge extras at any expense. Another thing, where are your German cars in Europe? In the US they are your main cars, here its like if it was some kind of luxury, which makes no sense since we are in Europe and they're actually cheaper here. read more
