They set the bar high for a "two star" hotel. It's charm provides the ultimate mountain lodge experience. Although a bit dated, we didn't mind since everything was spotless! The cleaning team provided exemplary daily service. The staff was very accommodating and quickly fixed any small issues I did have (like resetting my fan/AC) The Sitzmark is nestled between the " Ruidoso Welcome Sign" and midtown- Walking distance to several boutique shop and eateries. It's minutes from Inn of the Mountain Gods, Ski Apache, Penguin Park, a city ice skating rink, plenty of beautiful nature trails, and plenty more! I will say, the food options here aren't great and most serve the same thing. Also, hardly anyone answers the phone in this town. Be sure to book online in advance to take advantage of pricing. read more

My husband, brother and law, and myself stayed in the suite at the Sitzmark from Friday to today. We had a great experience! Lisa was very welcoming and helpful. The room was very clean and spacious. They have grills outside, as well as a sauna! We will definitely be back and will recommend our friends when they come to Ruidoso! read more

I recommend this hotel It's classic and charming Room was decorated great, we had microwave and fridge. The shower head and water temp were my only complaints-temp was scalding or lukewarm Shower head was awful and made for difficult shower AC abs heater both worked Sauna Smoking area outdoor area Muffins and coffee in the morning Seriously this place is worth staying at when you get the chance read more

The perfect spot for a little getaway. Everything was exceptional. The room was cute, and had the cabin feel to it. It was such a clean space, I was so impressed with everything about our stay. Loved all the little things that made it really stand out from the others. Like the feeling of it being so welcoming. The management was so friendly and even made sure the room was comfortable with the ac on prior to our arrival. It even had a cute little sauna made out of a whiskey barrel! 10/10 will definitely stay here again the next time in Ruidoso! read more

What a gem this place is! We came to town for a long weekend which unfortunately took place right after the fires and flooding hit this lovely town. Luckily the Inn wasn't affected by either and we were able to stay. We booked the suite above the office that has 2 queen beds, a small kitchen area and a small living room. It was great and provided us with everything we needed. The Inn is located close to town shopping and lots of places to eat. The best part though was the on site manager Lisa. From the minute we arrived till we left she went above and beyond to make our stay the best possible experience. What an asset she is to this Inn! My husband and I had a great three night stay here and would certainly stay here again. Highly recommend! read more

fairly priced, adorable little place has everything you need. This compact hotel is charming and carefully kept up, with comfortable beds and pleasant outdoor seating evening or morning. Although the carpets and rooms are on the vintage side, our bathroom had sparkling white tile and new fixtures. Coffee and oatmeal provided in the lobby for breakfast made it easy to get going in the morning, along with very tasty homemade muffins. The sauna looked very cute and appealing for a winter stay. Staff were friendly and seemed to take it seriously to keep the atmosphere peaceful. Ski decor was appealing even in summer. A place to remember! read more

It was our first time in Ruidoso and after seeing so many positive reviews, and the retro vibe, we chose Sitzmark. So cozy, clean and well cared for it did not disappoint. Price was right too. Convenient to shopping and restaurants. Lisa at the front desk was so friendly and always available for recommendations or answer any questions we had. Thanks for a great stay! read more

Once again Sitzmark was awesome. Jan. 14-16. Great room with king size bed, microwave, refrigerator, fireplace, hairdryer, tub. Hot coffee and muffins every morning. Wonderful steam sauna. Thank you Jennifer, Naomi, staff and Todd for having a gem of a place. Dale and Terri Pitts. read more

Absolutely adored this place! Not only were the front desk people extremely nice and helpful, but the rooms are adorable!!! You absolutely can't beat the price. And the rooms come complimentary with really nice shampoo and conditioner. The bathroom was extremely clean, the bedroom was also, loved the cute southwest furniture. They made complimentary muffins in the morning and hot chocolate and coffee. I just fell in love with this town, and can't wait to come back. I can't say enough good things about this adorable motel. The vibes are just perfect! read more

This place was so cute! Their location was awesome too, fresh cookies/muffins every morning and coffee! My only complaint was that the wifi acted up at times-would definitely recommend staying here and yes the hotel is old but CLEAN and staff is super friendly! read more

It was clean and decorated so charmingly. The woman in the office was very inviting and friendly. We were very happy with our experience.

This Inn is absolutely amazing!! The owners/staff were so kind and ready to help with anything we needed. The double queen suite is so cozy and clean. loved the chalet vibe and the decor. The retro fireplace was so cool. Most of all this is the most clean and affordable place I have ever rented in Ruidoso. Do not spend money on Air BnB's. There are no hidden fees at this place. I don' think I will ever stay anywhere else in Ruidoso again. The muffins and coffee in the morning were perfect! Did not get to use the whiskey barrel sauna but you bet I will next time. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay!!! This was a girls trip and they trusted me to pick the place. I nailed it with this one!!! read more

You certainly can't go wrong here. Reasonably priced. Owner very friendly and originally from Oklahoma. There is something to be seen around every corner. It sits in the Pine Forrest in Ruidoso, NM. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Coffee and pastries provided in the am. I will stay here from now on when I'm in town. read more

Good job here guys. Rooms were just what we needed, clean, simple and great location right on the main road. There are plenty of places within walking distance and the staff proved to be polite, welcoming and helpful. I will definitely stay here again and Sitzmark will be recommended to friends and family. Cheers y'all. P.s. my girlfriend wants me to mention the owners dog. It's on the other side of the door behind the front desk. Soooo cute! Her words read more

Pros: Quiet, clean, comfortable bed, hot water, a tad overpriced. $60 would be a good rate. Cons: Small room, poorly lit. Older establishment with an odor. Small parking spaces in the parking lot. Two chairs and a table meant low comfort. Will choose a different place next time. read more

Traveling throughout New Mexico over the last month I have to say that Sitzmark Chalet is one of the cutest & most comfortable stays! The hotel owners, Lori and Todd are nothing short of spectacular. After a stressful afternoon of dealing with an unorganized, impolite hotel I arrived to a very happy, helpful person - Lori! She instantly put me at ease, and made sure that I had a room here at her hotel. When traveling - having a warm, clean, safe place to stay is an extremely important thing to me. This lodge delivered it. No bedbugs or creepy front desk people here. (If you've traveled throughout the U.S. - especially smaller towns, you know what I am talking about.) The rooms are awesomel!! With the wood burning fireplace, country decor I feel like I am tucked away at my grandmothers cabin. Not only do you get a cozy room, they have a spa and BBQ you can use as well. Perfect for the end of any day!! You can tell that this place is well kept and cared for. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a warm, cozy, pleasant stay. read more

We always enjoy our stay at the Sitzmark. The staff is always helpful and friendly. Our room is always nice.

Clean, well organized, great atmosphere, friendly, and great last minute find on hotels.com. What's not to like about this place?

I recently had a family member in the ICU in Ruidoso. I needed a place to stay and after reading a number of reviews, I selected Sitzmark. Jennifer and Heather were amazing. My situation was very dynamic and they were fantastic as I had to change my reservation multiple times and return a week later to retrieve a vehicle. I stayed with them again. They genuinely cared and did everything they could to ease the logistics of my trip. THANK YOU! I also really enjoyed the laid back atmosphere and motif. The rooms are small but extremely well maintained and clean. I had a small fridge, microwave, satellite TV, table and sitting chair with a footstool. I even had a few minutes to sit on their covered porch by their outdoor sauna and watch the rain. If you want a great place to stay operated by great people, look no further! read more

Have stayed here multiple times and have always had a great experience. Great family owned hotel.

We loved that the staff/ front desk was very welcoming from the second we got there. She asked us our names and was sweetly conversational. The decor is very comfortable rustic and everything is very clean. You get a small town and personalized stay experience with excellent customer service. In the morning they had freshly baked (tasted and looked to be homemade) muffins. This will be our go to place to stay for future visits. read more

Very comfortable and quaint rooms. Nice modern step-in shower. Great managers. Very friendly and helpful. Wonderful coffee and muffins in the morning, but no breakfast most rooms on the first floor. Amazing sauna available 24 hours. Nice. Rates were very fair. read more

We stayed here on a road trip through New Mexico. It's an adorable place that also happens to be very affordable. Nice, clean rooms and friendly and helpful staff. There is a nice courtyard area that has a couple of grills too! I thought that was a nice touch. We were busy skiing, eating, and shopping while there (plus there was snow on the ground) but it adds a nice touch. It's also close to a lot of restaurants and shopping as well. I definitely hope to stay here again! read more

I have to give the Sitzmark 5 stars. When we come to Ruidoso. The hosts, Lori and Todd are friendly, and they are concerned about the guests. This time around, Lori helped me map out a great hike for me and my son and his friends. I love the affordable price, the clean, spacious, comfortable rooms, and the cozy courtyard - I love having my early morning coffee with the hummingbirds. There are pricier places to stay ... but the quaint and homey Sitzmark is the place I want to be. read more

My family and I decided to go to Ruidoso on a whim, according to trip advisor this was a great place to stay. I was extremely please to find that the reviews of this place were accurate. We had a very pleasant stay. We drove in late and they left the keys on the front office for us, the place was extremely quite, the rooms were super clean. They have little muffins in the morning which were very tasteful. The beds were soft and they have cute fireplaces in the rooms. This place could have charged a lot more for what they offered it was a great value for the room! The location to downtown was very good and I plan to stay here again next time I am in town. If you have the opportunity to stay here and your low on funds, I would strongly recommend this place as it is very family friendly and it seems like a very safe place to stay. read more

Great location with simple, clean rooms with fireplaces! Cute and affordable. If you are going to arrive later than 9 pm, call to make arrangements and they will leave the keys for you. Also, check out the sauna- so unique! Even though this is an older property, it gives off a quaint, well loved, immaculate, cozy vibe! Owners are great and you feel at home! Btw.... They have cable and wifi so you can Yelp in your room! read more

What a wonderful little treasure in the mountains! We spent just one night there but what a great experience. We arrived late and the office was closed. No problem, they had an envelope waiting for us so we could get settled. The room was very clean, the staff was very pleasant. I can't rave enough about this little hotel. I can't wait to come back in the winter and go skiing! read more

I had a great stay. I was here for one night on business. Check in was fast. The owners seem proud of their hotel and take care of it. The room had nice touches, including colored towels, home made toiletries, and a sound machine. read more

Quaint and cozy. Clean. Very friendly owners. The only thing I would have liked is access to iced water. Maybe a little pitcher set up for guests in the lobby? Other than that, it was great and I would not hesitate to stay here again. read more

My room was good sized, comfortable and reasonably quiet. Check-in was very friendly. The premises are cute. It was Memorial Day Weekend, and parking was a little tight, but other than that, nothing seemed crowded, and there was overflow parking across the street. Prices were reasonable. Wi-Fi worked, TV and shower were fine when I got back from hiking in the wilderness. read more

Quaint and charming Inn! The manager was exceptional, the price was great and room was very comfortable. Got a great night sleep on the comfortable beds. Would definitely stay here again. And awesome location. read more

So they have new owners, which seem very nice. We were the only guests and had prepaid, it would have been nice had they turned the heat on in the room so our teeth weren't chattering. The Sauna didn't work. The "breakfast" they offer, shouldnt' be bothered with. Muffins in a warmer that didn't look done and coffee, outside where it's freezing cold. Please get better towels and give more than one a piece. I couldn't find a pen in the rooms. A bunch of small things that really wouldn't be terribly hard to fix. I wouldn't stay again as there are many choices. However, you might like it just fine. read more

Booked this inn due to good reviews from several sites. Rates a great value, booked through the inn's site, and could even apply a weekday discount. Owner asked our reason for visiting the area and provided a map and recommendations for restaurants and activities for us to try. So far we have been extremely pleased with our visit. Room clean and just as described. Hot homemade muffins were a great treat for breakfast. Will definitely stay here again. read more

Stayed here this weekend. The room was small however it was just perfect for the two of us. The rates were affordable, room was clean and comfortable. The staff was nice and friendly. The muffins, coffee and fresh fruit in the morning was nice as well. The noise machine in the room was great for blocking out traffic noise. Only issue was the WiFi was not working properly on our visit. Wasn't able to connect our our phones, tablet or laptop. BUMMER! I do believe they are working to correct this issue. All in all a nice, pleasant stay for a weekend. Will stay again for sure. read more

This is a great small comfortable Inn. First off understand you're not staying in a chain 5-Star hotel. The Sitzmark gives you exactly what you need for a comfortable nights stay. The rooms are cozy and comfortable with adequate furnishings. The building is older and so lots of squeaks and noises at night are expected. The staff is amazingly friendly which really makes a difference. Fresh muffins and coffee provided for free in the morning. If passing thru town or coming to ski for a night this is a great place for that. read more

We where so lucky to stay here on our honeymoon, we always had great parking and our room was so cozy! The pillows where so comfy, and having easy access to entertainment and attractions was very nice. Even though located on a main road, the room was nice and quiet. Tana is the most amazing host! Her cookies and muffins are out of this world! She even let me borrow silverware to eat my dinner when I didn't have it. Helped me carry my luggage. Very Gracious. I felt like a queen in their castle. read more
