I was disappointed with my experience working with this lawyer. Communication was often delayed, and I frequently felt that I had to follow up myself to get updates on my case. Important concerns were not addressed as thoroughly as I expected, leaving me feeling unsupported during a stressful process. While I understand that legal matters can take time, I expected clearer guidance, better responsiveness, and more proactive advocacy. Unfortunately, my experience did not meet those expectations, and I would not choose to work with this lawyer again.

Consumer Warning: $1,000 Charged for Zero Services; JusticeNet Rules Ignored…read more I am writing this review to warn others about my experience with Caleesis Telesh. I hired her through the JusticeNet program, which is designed to help low-income individuals access legal help at capped rates. In my case (ODSP), the rate was capped at $130/hour. The Issues: Predatory Billing: Before performing any work, she required a $1,000 payment via e-transfer. She never provided a written retainer or a signed contract outlining the scope of work, which is a standard professional requirement. No Results: I was seeking help with a license reinstatement. After paying her, I received no legal documents or proof of work. In the end, I resolved the issue myself with one phone call to the insurance provider, as confirmed by an email from Allstate Insurance on Jan 9, 2026. Refusal to Refund: Despite doing zero work, she refused a refund and produced an "interim invoice" after the fact, labeling the $1,000 as a "consultation." Based on JusticeNet rates, an $885+HST consultation would require nearly 8 hours of time, which never happened. Professional Record: Prospective clients should be aware that this lawyer has a public record with the Law Society of Ontario (Case 2023 ONLSTH 117) regarding professional conduct. I have filed a formal fraud dispute with my bank and am in the process of a Law Society complaint. If you are looking for a lawyer who follows program rules and provides transparent billing, look elsewhere.
