As experienced pup owners, we knew what qualities we wanted, and didn't want in a pet sitter. We struggled to find someone that we trusted with our "baby" and access to our home. One afternoon, we literally bumped into Katie on the corner near our house, and had a quick conversation! That led to scheduling a meet and greet at our home. Chip immediately fell in love with Katie and we loved how thorough she was with all her questions and follow-up questions! Hubby and I immediately scheduled a date night! When Katie & Chip had their scheduled walk & play time, we got the best video follow-up, with a text letting us know how the visit went. Katie even followed up with us the next day to see how Chip was!! Needless to say, we consider Katie & the Nona Paws crew a part of our family. Our dog is an Alaskan Malamute, a breed with a double coat that generally should not be completely shaved. We brought him in for a regular grooming appointment. It is true that he had a lot of hair and some tangles, which has happened before and was previously resolved with brushing and proper grooming. Our dog also gets nervous during grooming, so he was even medicated beforehand to make the process easier. A few hours after dropping him off, we received a call saying that his hair was very tangled and that the option would be to cut it shorter. We understood this to mean trimming it short, but it was never clearly explained that they were planning to completely shave him and remove his entire coat. If we had known that the result would be this drastic, we would not have approved it. When we picked him up, we found that he had been almost entirely shaved. This is especially concerning for a breed like a Malamute, since their coat plays an important role in protecting their skin and regulating body temperature. Since then, our dog has been extremely uncomfortable, very sensitive to the floor, and constantly licking his skin. We had to research on our own how to care for him now that he no longer has his natural protection, as we were not given clear aftercare instructions when we picked him up. Additionally, the grooming service cost around $500, which we find excessive considering the outcome and the lack of communication about what was actually going to be done. Another issue that had concerned us during previous visits was that, despite the high price of grooming for a dog with a thick coat, our dog was sometimes returned still damp, with the explanation that his coat was too thick to fully dry. However, that is exactly why a professional grooming service is being paid for. We understand that grooming a dog with a heavy coat can be challenging, but in this case it felt like there was a serious lack of clear communication with the owners before making such a drastic decision. We would have appreciated a proper explanation of the options and possible consequences. Unfortunately, this experience was very disappointing for us, and we do not plan to return.

They have always stayed at their vet until now so I was nervous about leaving them in a new place, especially the older one. They were VERY well taken care of and came home so happy, and with no upset tummies which always happened at the vet. The caretakers sent photos, answered my texts/calls, and just all around made the experience for the pups very comfortable and loved. I never felt like we were a burden or that they weren't wanted. We were welcomed from the first phone call inquiry about boarding and daycare. Petsuites is more than what we paid when they boarded at the vet BUT their rooms are larger, they get play time with other furry babies, more potty walks, and loved on by many caretakers. We typically receive an end-of-stay report detailing how Marie did with eating, playtime, and overall behavior, along with photos from group play sessions. During longer stays, staff would also usually provide updates, which always gave us peace of mind. Unfortunately, this visit was completely different. The Issue: The only communication we received during Marie's stay was a call informing us that she had been injured by another dog. We were told she had a small mark behind her ear, but when we picked her up, she had multiple marks and scratches that appeared more significant than what had been described to us. To make matters worse, we never received the usual end-of-stay report. Customer Service: When I called afterward to ask about the missing report, the employee at the front desk, Brooklyn, was dismissive and unhelpful. She told me that because Marie had already been checked out, they could no longer send one. I then asked to speak with a manager and was told none were available. I had to specifically request that a note be left for the manager, Melissa, to call me back. When Melissa eventually returned my call, she unfortunately had no answers about what happened to Marie during her stay. What was most disappointing was the lack of empathy or concern regarding the situation and our experience overall. Overall: As returning customers, this experience was incredibly frustrating and disheartening. Communication, transparency, and accountability are extremely important when trusting someone with your pet, and unfortunately this visit left us feeling uncomfortable and unheard. Sadly, Marie will not be returning after this experience.

I did arrive early but they were able to get to me sooner. The parking lot was pretty full but I was able to find something after doing a couple loops. This location is in a shopping plaza with quite a few different stores so be mindful of parking. There was quite a lot of pet hair in the room so if you have allergies you may want to prepare yourself before going in. The other location I go to jasm have that problem so I wanted to make note of that here. Overall I would definitely recommend this company. They have kept my senior dog as happy as can be for his age. I did get their special membership which has saved me a lot of money so far.

Since then, I have them take my dog to the back for any blood draws, which I think makes everything easier and more comfortable for everyone.

My favorite is that all their fees are plainly laid out, including emergency trips to the vet (if necessary). Having an older cat this was very reassuring.
