It's not unusual to find Ken in the studio working something. He was working on a drum when I was in today. I've got several of his prints framed and hanging at home and or in my office. Unfortunately my two stones came off from my very unique ring. Worse yet I was traveling and did not notice it immediately. Stones lost ! I contacted Poker Creek Gold and the owner Lincon contacted me immediately via phone. Apologized and said on rare occasion these things can happen. It indicated that my 5 year warranty would cover all the work. I sent it directly to the repair shop and received it back in a couple of weeks. Unfortunately they used lower quality stones (even though they had the original pics of the ring ). I contacted Lincon again and agreed with me and contacted the repair shop. He gave me the option of money back or an additional repair or a new ring that was basically identical to my original. I went with the new ring. All this with no cost to me. Lincon always called be right away and explained my options. There was no avoidance of the issue, no attempts to get to take an inferior product. Can't say enough about awesome customer service and value for my dollar. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Before we could say anything, she rudely turned to us and said "I'm not opening anytime soon", confused we asked what time they open since google said it opened right at the hour. She laughed mockingly and told us "not until at least 9:30 maybe 10:00" and then turned and shut the door behind her. Fine, you don't open as planned but to be extremely dismissive and rude about it was unnecessary. You could tell as soon as she walked up she didn't want to be there. To the rude lady..if that's the case, work somewhere else. Such a piss poor attitude to be working at a charity shop. You don't deserve customers if you clearly don't want them. You are a miserable person.

The only one we could find was hot pink, and my dad reluctantly said yes to it. Since we had some time to explore, we thought we could try to find some black electrical tape to wrap around the cane to conceal the pink. Naturally, we were referred to this hardware store. When we explained our situation, the staff's reaction was the best. They broke out in a boisterous laughter and immediately said that they might have the perfect solution in their back room. I thought they were going to sell us some overpriced electrical tape since they were the only hardware store in a tourist town, but what the gentleman came back with would be worth much more. He had a super durable black mesh pipe cover that would fit like a glove over our cane! We were ready to pay a pretty penny for this highly specialized product, but to our surprise, they were so nice and told us that it was their gift to us. No way! This just doesn't happen these days when everyone is looking to make a quick buck. They even threw in a roll of professional grade electrical tape to keep the ends of the mesh from fraying. They wouldn't take our money, but in the end, they reluctantly let us leave them a few dollars. We all had a good laugh and the staff even said that they might change their business model to "hardware AND cane repair. " lol Sad that we probably won't be back in Ketchikan, but I highly recommend them to anyone who has a special project. These guys are creative and can help you find a unique solution!
