This business appears to be doing everything right in light of the Corona19 pandemic. Sadly, the restaurant was temporarily closed until things return to normal. The pumpkin patch, petting zoo, and corn maze are all OPEN for business. This year's theme for the maze is "Essential Workers!" Definitely check this place out if you are in the area .... Cheers!

Wooden Nickel is a great local place to find buffalo meat packaged and ready to go. You can see…read morethe buffalo grazing in the fields surrounding. Aside from stocking up on quality lean buffalo, this place is a great destination to bring the kids. There is a petting zoo and corn maze. The best time to come is probably late summer-fall. The gift shop is perfect for finding a trinket or two for the kids for the ride home. And when the corn maze is open the restaurant is also open. This is actually more of a "snack bar" type of place - a grill where you can order buffalo burgers or other kid friendly foods. If you are looking for a polished more diner-like establishment you won't find it here. Again, if you are in the area for with the kids, they will surely enjoy a burger and fries or snack after running through the maze. This is also more of the old-fashioned, well worn kind of non-decor location. Even so, I have fun enjoying a burger and stocking my freezer. Four stars for the buffalo meat alone (on the pricey side but excellent). If you took that away I would give 2 stars.

We have been to many farms around Ontario and even as adults we enjoyed ourselves! Before we came I reached out to them as my youngest one is a full-time wheelchair user and they were super kind by email and informed me they accept Access 2 card. That helped! As this meant that we only had to pay for 4 admissions and I was free as my daughter's caretaker. We decided to keep the wheelchair at home after seeing some photos online of the roads, we took the wagon instead. I highly recommend taking a wagon or a stroller! This is a big farm. You will do a lot of walking. Some of the things about this place : - Lots of shade, lots of benches and seating areas to rest in the shade for anyone. - Lots of bathrooms can be found around the farm, including a small house that was made for privacy for anyone wanting to breastfeed their baby or change a diaper. The little house had two chairs, a change table and a nice size bench by the window if you had a oldest child you needed to change. I thought that was a nice touch to the farm. It is labelled on the map! - The staff were very friendly and helpful. - The food we grabbed for lunch, service was quick and everyone was happy with their meal. Kids meals were under $10.00( they had chicken strips and burger option), Adult meals were $10+ ( burgers, chicken wrap, chicken sandwich). The kids loved the honey lemonade with the Popsicle inside. - We also got some ice cream at the end of the day and had funnel cake that was $8.00 each. - They had a splash pad, pretty decent size. We did not end up using it as it was too cold out and our kids found they were too occupied with everything else. They had nice size private individual change rooms right next to the splash pad. Also saw a change table in the biggest one. - They had many animals through out the farm to visit and feed. - They took debit or credit only! There was no cash option! -The gift shop was a nice size, you can sample 3 of your choice of honey flavours, that was a fun experience for the kids. - Lots of other cool mazes, climbing things, games and things I never seen at other farms that you just need to discover for yourself! Totally worth the drive! We recommend it! Many hours of fun!

They also have two concession stands! Our family spent four hours and never even made it to the corn maze. The staff is overly accommodating and friendly. I am really surprised by the previous yelp's I read. This is a small family owned business and they were all running around keeping things clean and in order. I really think people need to be careful right now more than ever leaving a bad review because you may be in a mood yourself. If your heading to an outdoor event I would not expect all people to be walking around outside in a mask. If your that afraid you just may want to stay home an order a pumpkin on line. Don't leave a poor review on a local business working hard to stay up and running. This farm has been in Hartville for a long time. That's why it gets packed so quickly. Loyal customers that enjoy a great service they provide to our community. If your looking for a fun day out I highly recommend stopping here.

My family and I went for their fall…read moreevent that includes a hayride, corn maze, pumpkin picking from the vine and a play area for kids. Entry was $5 and kids 2 and under are free. The entry fee gets you access to everything mentioned. There were 3 food trucks in front, and also their main building consists of fresh picked vegetables (a big assortment of peppers ranging from mild to hot) and other handmade local goods. Prices are very reasonable as well. If you don't want to pick your own pumpkin, there are also ones that you can just choose and purchase in front of their main building, along with cornstalks. Let me tell you, this hayride is by far the best I've been on. From the cleanliness of the farm and the hayride, to the organization and friendliness of the employees. They close at 5pm on Saturdays, and advertise that their last hayride is at 4pm, but they went until almost closing due to there still being people who wanted to ride. There were 2 tractors that took patrons to and from the pumpkin area. The ride to the area was about 5 or so minutes, and coming back was about 10 minutes. While riding, you get views of the whole farm, a view of a pond and also ride through their orchards. The tractors and seating area were clean and in good shape. The pumpkin patch had a lot to choose from and different shapes, sizes and colors. Many were still on the vine. The price for the pumpkins is $0.42 per pound. I got one huge pumpkin, and 4 small ones for $12. Not bad at all! This farm has yearly events, and I can't wait to return. Definitely recommended!

We were trying to find some kid friendly fall activities when we stumbled upon the Port Farms website. We took the (easy) 30 min drive to Waterford and it did not disappoint. We arrived around 11am, an hour after they opened. Plenty of guests were there but the parking area is very well organized and large. We had no issues parking close to the entrance and only waited around 2-3 minutes in line to pay for admission. While we were there my daughter had a blast. We went on the Wagon ride down the trail by the cornfields and she loved all the funny/creative scarecrows along the way. Another big hit was the climbing jungle gym area. She visited that area about 3 times while we were there. The bubble station seemed to be a huge hit with both kids and adults, as those bubbles they were creating were massive. I saw a few flying all the way above the parking lot. Very cool. There's plenty of activities for all ages and some extras with additional fees. We didn't try any of the extras but for a kid her age, what we did was perfect. We did also eat lunch there, over by the massive tire area that kids seemed to love for climbing. The giant pretzel was bigger than my head and my daughter loved her pizza. On our way out we stopped at the store and purchased some of the odd shaped gourds and beautiful little white and mult-colored mini pumpkins to take home. My daughter also had one of the apple cider slushies available within the gift shop at the bakery counter area. It was really good! Lovely fall trip - well worth the money for us to both have a great time while away from home. This is easily one of the best fall harvest type events that I've been to. We will be back next October!

We got there around 10:00 and the parking was really easy and they had an attendant that showed us where to go. I was able to bring my little wagon into the farm which made going around very easy. If you are a college student and have ID the price of admission is $10 and kids under two are free. So it's an affordable event to go to for as much stuff as they have inside. We immediately went to the corn pit and I had to take my daughter out of it kicking and screaming. The goats were also a big hit but I didn't have a quarter for her to feed them herself. Next time I'll know, bring quarters. She also had a great time in the little kids village where she sat in the rocks with the Tonka trucks and just had a grand time. The slides and the balls were also fun for her. I had to take her out of the basketball area because it was giving me a little bit of anxiety since she's so small. But she loved it. My favorite part was the fresh squeezed lemonade. Just to tell you it's all the way in the back towards the trampoline jumpers. But totally worth it even though I had to ask three people where to go. I even got one for the road. We ended the day buying a few mini pumpkins and a gallon of cider. Overall it was a great day and a great place to spend time with young kids.
