This family owned restaurant tucked away in the city center is a must! Like any other Greek restaurant, Taverna Mykonos is lively decorated with murals and charming music playing in the background. Greek cuisine is not excluded to this thankfully, and Dimitra 1 is a very good place to go for both of its flavour, appearance and friendly waiting staff. The inclusion of outdoor seating is covered by an awning which is great. I visited Dimitra 1 on a Friday evening without reservation at around 19:00. The place wasn't too full and outdoor seating was available. I ordered the Giros Calamaris which also came with 1 shot glass of Ouzo, a appetiser salad and a small desert. I ordered a side of Tzatziki as well since my meal did not include any. The meal was very good! All of it was served hot and delicious. The Giros boasted with great taste and weren't over-seasoned while the Calamaris were just as good as the Giros, not being gummy and having a great taste. The plate included a lemon which I of course used on my food but it is not required. The appetiser salad has a wide assortment of vegetables and feta cheese. The salad is covered lightly with a Vinegar-oil dressing. The desert is some sort of vanilla pudding with a caramel sauce. All in all it all tasted delicious and I was wasn't over stuffed but I felt good for the rest of the evening! If you are travelling with a female guest to this restaurant and she would like Ouzo as well I highly suggest mentioning that during your order because female guests get a aperitif instead of Ouzo. So just mention instead of the aperitif, Ouzo please. You get the Ouzo before the meal. This restaurant has multiple menu options as well so you will most likely find something you like! The prices aren't high and the food makes it justified.
