Even the sports is not particularly impressive and is often simplistic and sometimes downright offensive. Like their opinions on soccer and soccer players. Nevertheless this radio station is actually pretty cool and what a hell of a location right in the middle of Beale Street. Certainly if this was Bourbon Street or Broadway in Nashville then by now somebody would have bought this off them and paid handsomely, but on Beale Street it can just about hold its own, and afford itself. Or should I say Rupert Murdoch can afford it.

Now I do not watch 5, 6 and 10 pm. Why, because I don't like the way R. Ransom came in and referred to the news as his news. I see ads where people on Facebook are so happy to have him back, and finally they can get news again. My question to Facebook followers is, what was Catina and co-news partner doing before this R. Ransom joined the pm news? I think it is insensitive for the directors to allow such ads to be broadcasted. Catina is one of the liveliest, intelligent and joyful newspersons I have seen on local news. But I can't watch her anymore, because I don't care for him.

The parent company owns multiple 'Business Journals' in a number of cities (ie, the Denver Business Journal, the Atlanta Business Journal), but the Memphis version is no worse for being, essentially, a franchise. The MBJ does an excellent job of reporting local happenings. Memphis reporters consistently write well and the paper provides all the information you could ever want should you be in marketing, sales, or PR. If you're not in those fields, only the occasional story about your own particular field will be of interest. If you're not in business in Memphis, it's likely you won't find the need to ever pick this journal up. If you are, though, it's indispensable.

They publish a fantastic reference book every year called the Book of Lists that contains listings of all of the top businesses in a variety of industries with very detailed information on each. I seriously do not what I would do without my Book of Lists.
