Sireon Tours, through Avanti Destinations, handled six car transfers and three train transfers on our recent trip to Italy. We booked through them because we were travelling with a young child who required a carseat. The train transfers went very well. Unfortunately, in four out of the six car transfers, each priced at ~200euro, we had issues. We were delayed in arriving at the airport, and we had notified Sireon before take off. Upon landing we had no message from them, only to find out that they could not accommodate a later pick-up. When I called, Sireon advised there was nothing they could do, and that we had to find our own transfer with a car seat available. When we transferred to the train station a few days later, the car seat provided did not have a buckle. A few days later we had another short transfer from the hotel to the train station, and there was no car seat in the vehicle. After I called Sireon, they were able to rush a car seat to us and it only delayed our travel by 20 minutes. On our final transfer leaving Italy - which was 60 minutes away from our destination - the car showed up at 7am again without a carseat. The driver claimed he could not do anything, Sireon central was not able to resolve the issue, so we had to pay for a carseat from the concierge of our hotel to make our train in time.
Perhaps Sireon does other things well, but after paying more than 1200euro for six transfers, we ended up paying additional fees of approximately 200euro to make sure our trip could continue without delay. The Sireon customer service representative - after not showing up at the airport for our transfer with no notice - assured me that this agency is "the best in Italy." When there are issues with 60% of the bookings that the customer has to solve, I hope that statement is not true. read more
