They obviously have books, of all genres, but they have so much more than books. They have board games/card games and they have toys too, including Celestial Buddies, which are plushies of planets, moons and all things, well... celestial, lol. I especially liked the Saturn plushie. They have "Every Child Matters" stuffed bears as well. They have really cool bookmarks (I especially liked the Spaghetti and Meatballs bookmark). They have earrings that are book covers! Perfect for the bibliophile in your life who also loves jewelry (and has their ears pierced). The bookstore is very open and not cluttered at all. They had some shelves still empty when I went the first week of November 2023, so I think they will be getting more merchandise. Prices are comparable to other regular bookstores. No bargain basement prices, but no huge markup for being in trendy Westboro, lol. Staff are friendly and pleasant. They leave you alone to browse, which I like, but seemed helpful with other customers who needed help (I did not need help, so did not interact too much with staff). Great place to pick up gifts. But smells ok. Even a partial inventory online would be nice. Complete with suggested retail price. But the owner seems computer-averse. It is indeed a treasure trove, but buried treasure, moldering away in piles of trash. Everything there, except Harlequin romances. Putting the priced inventory online would possibly wipe out half the stock in a month. And would still leave the problem of finding the listed book in a random pile. The main issue for me is price. Some oddball oxidized third rate Sci Fi paperback is listed at $5. An old water-stained and crumpled 5 kg surgery textbook is $50, and took some ironing to make it readable. Service? Owner seems to know where everything is, and people seem to like the hunt. As for me, there was little parking space, and I got a $70 ticket. Read the signs! Patrols are frequent. In parting: come with an agenda, but browse. Be prepared to respectfully haggle. Dress down (easy for me) and mess up your hair. Dont rub the belly of the cat: he bites at that. He followed me out of the building onto the sidewalk. Let me know if he came back. Nearby Goat cafe is very natural and nice. Quiet, funky and calm. Dont miss it.

Since I play the oboe, this is really the only place in the city where I can come to buy music. The same can be said for advanced harmony instruction books. The Leading Note also carries many scores and lots of music for choirs. I also especially like their section with more worldly piano music. As I have recently started teaching piano in French (my second language), the staff at the Leading Note were extremely helpful in telling me about French beginner method books and comparing them for me. If you are looking for a teacher, there is a bulletin board full of cards from teachers around the city. There is also a section on their website where you can find teachers. The staff are friendly and are all musicians themselves.

It comes in handy when I need to gift someone a present with a card or when I send one in the mail (what's that?!) to someone. This store had cute trinket holders. There were heart-shaped ones. I liked the strawberry ones. They were perfect for rings, earrings, and maybe my air plant. This store had artisan soap by Whiskey River Soap Co. Had I not purchase a bunch of hand-crafted soap last month, I would have bought some here. It's funny that I held back getting a thing because I had just purchased similar items recently. The drinkware was another good example. I got one with a glass straw a few months ago. I didn't need another one, but the watermelon and strawberry ones appealed to me. This store had a lot of earrings to choose from. I was happy to see a lot of cute, small earrings. I like clean designs. Simplicity is good. You got everything from crescent moons to triangles. This store had so many gift ideas. Even the pottery section made me wonder if I could gift a friend something. I enjoyed browsing at this store. Today (November 3rd, 2020) my mom and I decided to stop in after driving by and instantly noticing the pretty lady in the sari guiding a couple people around the store. Let me just say it was the best decision. As we walk in we are greeted by the overall amazing zen that seems to fill the store, it's very calming and very uplifting. We were greeted by the lady in the sari who I didn't get her name sadly but she was a complete joy to speak with. She made my mom and I comfortable and answered all of our questions about anything we had. She also gave us a great lesson on the singing bowls and by the end of it we were able to play them (not as good as her lol) we ended up playing a wide array of singing bowls which was very fun and super relaxing, they sound and feel incredible. They also have an awesome selection of crystals, stones, bracelets, malas, incense and anything to align your chakras and help you meditate or cleanse your space/body. Also the scent of the store is so amazing and I wish I could bottle it and wear it as a perfume haha. I also love that they offer samples of any incense and cones for you to try and I love love love that! Especially for when I want to try new incenses without buying a whole box. They also offer very cute free handmade crystal bags made of Indian silks and fabrics when you purchase crystals/stones. I 100% absolutely recommend stopping in, wether you are a pro at using crystals, bowls, etc. or are just curious. It's a magical place that I will be coming back to time and time again. The service here is sincerely pleasant and I was able to pick up a couple Christmas gifts on my travels too. Wow, I am not sure if I walked into a book store today, or an art gallery…read more I've driven buy this newly built Indigo over a dozen times, and I finally decided today was the day to check it out. One thing that I noticed when I entered the store is the smaller entrance way. It was a tad tight getting in with a stroller while people were trying to exit. Maybe there is another larger entrance that I did not notice? The store is super bright, and super clean, but kinda sterile. I usually visit Indigo to browse the latest home decor and sale items, so I was a bit thrown off that all their home decor and knick knacks are scattered across the store, but it was tastefully done and I get what they were doing there. For example: where the yoga books and fitness books were displayed, so were the yoga items and water bottles. Another example, the cookbooks were surrounded by kitchen tools and kitchen decor. It was nice to walk around this store and browse, but it was not bookstore vibes. I love grabbing books and browsing through them. I didn't find any chairs in sight besides going over to Starbucks, where I could get comfy and browse through some books. There is also an indigo kids, that looked bright, and fun, but I didn't venture too much into that department. This store is nice, but it's just OK in my books. I am a traditional kinda gal, and I really liked the old school "chapters" vibe of bookstores where they had tables and chairs all throughout the place, and it was more cozy. This is not the kinda of place to meet up with friends and work on projects at, unless you buy a coffee and do so at Starbucks.
