I called several times with the promise that Al would call me back. After more than two weeks I finally spoke with him. He gave me an 800 number without even trying to help solve my issue. If you are renting gear they get you fitted for a backpack and show you how to setup the tent. They go over and distribute group gear, and food, and help you learn how to pack your bag! If you've never backpacked before this is an amazing way to try it without having to buy all the gear! Plus they have a very comprehensive packing list so you know you'll have what you need out on the trail. Days 1-5: We traveled to the island by ferry and began our adventure. We hiked around 4 miles most days with one long day that we hiked around 8 miles. The trails on island are gorgeous and rugged. There was so much wildlife to see including: foxes, beavers, loons, cranes, frogs, bald eagles, and even a wolf! In the mornings we were greeted in the mornings by beautiful sunrises and at night with amazing views of the milky way. I honestly can say I wish the trip was longer! If you have ever been even curious about backpacking I can't recommend PackRatz Adventures' trips enough. Erin and the other guides were super knowledgable and just genuinely great people.
