I was 23, now I'm 45…read moreand still wouldn't change him for any other Dr. The first time I saw him, was when he was with Dr. Benavidez, I wanted to see Dr. Benavidez for a regular pap and for whatever reason Dr. Montalvo came into the room instead. I thought he was extremely nice and I thought he was just being nice because he was starting his practice and wanted to get some patients of his own. As of this day, Dr. Montalvo continues to be a sweetheart with all his patients. I've referred a lot of my friends and they end up staying with him and love his bedside manners. They as well recommended their family and friends to him. It doesn't matter what the reason for your visit is, he always explains to you everything he feels you need to know about whatever condition or symptoms you are having. Sometimes I feel like he explains too much, but I rather have extra explanations than none at all. Some of his office staff have been with him for at least 20 years, which tells you that he is an excellent boss as well. He's very knowledgeable about his practice and very gentle. I will keep referring my friends and family to him because I honestly don't think they'll find anyone better than him.

When I got there they told me that the office manager and doctor said I wasn't going to be seen unless I paid a certain amount of my balance. I explained that I have been in n out of the hospital that I could do a certain amount only and they refused. I had to come to the er only because they didn't do their job right. They knew what i was getting done so they should have ran my insurance first then doing procedure. Now I am here with tremendous pain at the er hoping I get seen. She has been through 2 knee breaks, 2 heart stints, and femur break with me. She was not the primary for those but she made her presence known with visits as my primary family doctor. I do not know the other two recommendors but one is from Austin and the other was from out of state and as far as I know Dr. Gonzalez practices in Laredo, Texas so I would not take those recommendations very highly. I would and have recommended her practice highly to friends and family. Dr. Gonzalez is the best and I have even changed my insurance when her contract with them was up. I have always been welcomed warmly in her office and the maximum wait I have experienced has been 1 hour, but in their defense, it was not an appointment.
