Nevertheless, I went for a trail run here and had a blast! There are some very technical sections, and some challenging hills (a couple of which I had to walk up), mixed in with easier, flatter non-technical stretches. Some really fun creek crossings, and on Trail 7 the creek *is* the trail for a while. Trail 9 (Snipe Trail section) is almost completely overgrown making it fun to try to follow, especially while running. There are a few small logs to leap over. Yes, occasionally there are big divots and mudpuddles where the horses trod through the mud, but that's part of the fun, IMO. My only small gripe is the signage. It looks like the signage was great when originally installed, but has not been well maintained. Much of it was severely faded, and occasionally confusing. Got pretty lost at the end of my run before I finally made my way back to the parking lot.

If you're looking for a graet park to visit, Long Run Park is great!

The expansive brick-arched pavilion resembles a train station which is in keeping with the trains that travel down the town's Main Street daily. I was told that the pavillion is host to many musical events and the Saturday artisans/farmer's market. Also keeping with the town's love of trains, there is a piece of playground equipment fashioned after a locomotive. The playground has areas that are appropriate for younger and older children. Included in the areas are musical instruments, slides, rope bridge, climbing wall, merry-go-round and more. There is a building with very nice restrooms. There is an area of dedicated parking and there is also street parking available nearby. There is an abundance of nearby shops and eateries along Main Street.

It was a beautiful area, green and lush, with several areas for picnicking and wading into creeks. There was a lake that people were fishing in. Several old cabins were on the property that added a fun dimension to the area. If we're ever in the area again, we might stop and take advantage of more of the hiking trails.

There are hiking trails, walking trails, playground for the kids, restrooms are available as well as picnic tables located in a sheltered area. They have a very large pond if you want to kayak and the pond is stocked with fish. Fishing is catch and release and you do need a license to fish in the pond. A great family park and dog friendly! Please pick up after your pets. Leave the park clean and enjoy the day!

You just have to find your spot. The sites are very close together. The bathrooms are outdated, dark, and in need of repair. Our site was littered with cigarette butts. This campground needs some serious TLC to be ranked as one of the top five state campgrounds. The one good thing is that the water in the showers was hot!

My children are now 8 and 10 and I still feel they can enjoy the playground. It offers something for children of all sizes. The inside facilities could still use some updates. The workout area is still not something I feel drawn to use as it is squeezed into an area that all people pass through on their way to class, the pool, or any other parts of the facility. The area is dark and glum and, since I have enough trouble finding self-motivation to work out, this is something I'd like to see changed. I'm not sure the facility has a better space for it, but daylight and more openness would go a long way in improving this experience. Kudos to the facility for offering a variety of classes ranging from fitness (including yoga, swimming, Zumba and more) to after-school care and even guitar lessons. It is a well-rounded facility that all ages can benefit from. I have seen seniors doing aqua aerobics and there is a small daycare room for the younger children. This could be improved with increased toys and activities, but it is offered and can help a mom get a workout in when she otherwise might not.

The odd part is near the tressel we saw the Pope Lick Monster. Honestly. It was sunset, he was silhouette against the sky uphill from us. All 5 of us teens saw it- and ran back to the cars full steam ahead. Thin line between bravery and foolishness. Anyway, go, explore, enjoy, but keep one eye open and on the horizon at all times.
