Their first appointment is at noon, which was my appointment today, and when I arrived at about 11:45 the lights were mostly off. But they turned the lights on and gave me the paperwork to fill out. I was then told my massage therapist hadn't yet arrived. Hmmm, okay.... she arrived at about 12:10 and took me in right away - but I did get rather turned off by the lack of professionalism in terms of either offering me another massage therapist, keeping me updated on her whereabouts, making sure I wasn't in a rush to leave, etc. Marianne, my massage therapist, finally arrived and took me in immediately and filled with apologies. Anyway, once I was taken in, things started getting better. You leave your shoes by the waiting room, which is a nice touch - it adds to the spa like feel of the place, and minimises noise of people walking around. The rooms are lovely - well lit by candlelight, soft music playing, etc. I didn't love the fact that my body was covered with a smallish towel instead of a sheet, but once I got into the massage I forgot about it. I had booked a deep tissue massage and was a bit turned off by the light touch Marianne had at first, but she still somehow managed to get in there and loosen my muscles. At one point she pulled my shoulder blades out, which I've had done before and usually find myself gasping to not yell out, but with Marianne it just felt like a nice gentle stretch that left me feeling quite limber. I'm used to deep tissue massages being very strong and really working out my muscles, with me grunting from the pain (the good sort of pain, though!). That's not how Marianne did it - somehow, I received a deep tissue massage and managed to doze off! Afterwards she left me dozing in the room, and when I finally got up and got dressed, she met me in the waiting area with some tea and water, a stack of magazines, a blanket, and my choice of daybeds to curl up on and relax. I was told there was no rush for me to leave, and I truly felt that way. I'll be back.

I generally find a good wet shave much nicer. I was cajoled into coming here and indeed I had originally suggested it to the cajoler due to reviews and proximity. Slightly worryingly the questionnaire described what one would normally describe as 'side effects' as a 'healing reaction'. It seems complimentary therapies are continuing to be good at rebranding. The place is certainly very clean and zen full of furniture from Lom Bok (I have just moved and studied furniture stores). The staff do a good job of putting you at ease. There was quiet music, soft smells and lots of places to meditate. The lady who looked after me was very good, very professional and and concentrated on my back where I get the most pain post swimming. The price wasn't bad at £65 for 45 mins and had a nice relaxing tea at the eng just outside a small garden. If my pain had gone or Id felt better this place would get five stars but Ive yet to find that place. I think I'll continue with my shaves but certainly I'd go back if I was gifted a session.

But walking through a mall, I found this massage stand and thought it just might be the thing after my days of walking and sleeping in hostile hostel beds. Joe was superb. I purchased a 10 min massage and it definitely went on for longer than that. I often appreciate silence when getting a massage but once we started on the topic of music, there was no stopping! I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Joe and was definitely feeling better when I walked away. So do go find Joe and relieve that tension and stress. You'll be glad you did!

I've been experiencing some pretty serious shoulder pain over the last couple of weeks. And when it finally managed to keep me up most of the night earlier this week, I decided intervention was needed: I booked a 90-minute, deep tissue massage. It's a serene and minimalist place with white walls and dark, wood floors with splashes of turquoise in the furnishings. Very modern and fresh. And while it isn't really a sit-all-day kind of place, it still has comfortable chairs in the sitting area along with water and a selection of teas. The treatment rooms and cozy, dimly lit, and warm (important on cold winter days). They specialize is facials, hair removal, mani/pedis, and massage. And the massage part is quite wonderful. I came out feeling like a new person. And because I booked a slot before 5pm on a weekday, I also received a 25 per cent discount. That was a nice surprise. My only gripe is the amount of noise made when anyone walks on the beautiful, wood flooring. It's sort of loud and distracting. Other than that, I can't really like this place. If you're in West London, I would highly recommend seeking it out!

I will admit, that this is the first time I have indulged in a massage in London properly. It's stressful times and after a considerable period of my body lacking attention I jumped on Tinker and cycled down here. I didn't make an appointment but as soon as I walked it, the line of knitting Thai ladies made it very clear this wouldn't be a problem. It smells lovely in here and straight away I felt the worries of the world float away. You walk in and take off your shoes off and fill in a little health form. You then tell them what kind of massage you want and you're taken down into a cosy treatment room. The rooms are lovely, very calming and toasty warm. There is a large futon and pillow on the floor, you're told to strip down to your under crackers and lie on the bed while your lovely lady leaves the room. She then comes back as you lie pretty much starkers on the futon and gives you a good rub. £30 for 30 minutes and when I left I felt like a new woman. Life changing! They told me that they are open until 10.30pm most days so if after work you feel like you need to chill out and you have £30 burning a whole in your pocket, I can think of a lot worse ways to spend your evening.

My Mrs bought me a deep tissue massage as part of my 25th birthday with Marion who is also a Medical Herbalist. It was really needed after a week of excesses and was a great experience. While this place is called The Little Escape, it feels a bit more of a home away from home with a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. They have such a wide offering of alternative treatments and holistic remedies you would be hard pressed to find something you didn't want to try. Their site looked totally legit and I was a little sketchy about being able to book an appt at 9pm on a Friday, but hey- they were willing to take me at 9pm on a Friday- Score! Anna who booked the appointment with me was sincere, helpful and friendly and made me feel comfortable from the beginning. I had a bit of trouble finding the place, because I didnt realize they were in the basement of the salon "Hair+" next to the Domino's Pizza on Foley Street. "38" was not marked on the building. Luckily, Anna was right there on the phone to help guide me to the door and even though the salon was closed, my massage therapist, Evelina was there at the door to greet me. As other YELPers have mentioned, this is not a "spa-like" ambiance, with lots of white cottons, fluffy pillows, flowers or meditative statues looking at you ponderously. This is the basement of a hair salon. And a small basement at that. There was a toilet they let me use before I went into the room- which looked like it belonged in a tight studio flat. But it served its purpose. Then I went into the room. It was lit with candles, it smelled of eucalyptus oil and lavender and there was a full massage table. Evelina offered me a glass of water to begin and then stepped out so I could undress. When she came back in, she gave me one of the best deep tissue massages I have ever had. She was incredibly deft with her elbows and kept the pressure firm in all the spots that needed breaking up. I felt itchy as all the blood began coming back into my muscles. I was in total stretch out, deep breathing, 'let's-do-this-together" mode, as she broke down the tissue and left me in a heaping pile. The cost was 50 GBP for 60 mins. I personally felt so relieved that I tipped her 10 GBP. She deserved that and more. Overall- the reason I didnt give 5 stars were due to the minor negatives about this place- specifically the lack of Spa-like touches. Example- the table was not quite padded and there were no blankets to lay on, only the paper-type towels the doctor pulls over his examining table. I was provided a towel, after I got naked to cover up with. It covered me fine, but didn't make me feel total cozy, the way I would've under a blanket. I had to ask half way through for a washcloth or towel to go under my forehead, since the pressure was so strong, my head started to hurt against the table. Then when it was all over, I really looked around the room and noticed it was kind of dirty, with oil on the wall and a closet door off its rollers. Nothing that would cause me concern- but not buttoned up the way a day spa would be normally. But that's probably what helps keep the cost down. Honestly- I am still feeling the massage days later. Deep tissue is not the type of thing I go for on a weekly basis- but if I get tight like that again or am here for longer, I will definitely call Anna and ask for Evelina. These ladies are lovely.

So, I went into my experience with a little bit of trepidation and some faith in the stellar reviews that 4ForYou had received on tripadvisor. However, the experience itself was actually really great! First off, the service is great -- booking an appointment was a breeze, and the receptionist even remembered my name when I called back to change the time of my appointment (I suspect that this is because the number that you call is a mobile number). Secondly, they've got a great venue that's pretty zen in its atmosphere and fairly centrally located -- but they can also do massages for you at your home. And finally, the massage was awesome -- great pressure, great technique, and an all-around relaxing experience. She really took her time, which I appreciated, since a few of the other places I've been to in London shove me out the door 45 minutes in, despite my having paid for a full hour! And it's inexpensive, too. Only £50 for an hour of deep tissue/swedish massage!
