I was hoping to work with this company for a very simple job, but they rescheduled on me TWICE on two different Fridays at the last minute! I saved my time for them and waited around for a 3-hour window - TWICE, and they showed no courtesy--not an ounce of it. They may be good at their work, but customer service is critical. My time is as valuable as theirs, and they should show some courtesy. Instead, I get a last-minute text as I wait for them, saying, "Sorry, we have another job. We'll come on this date instead." Not once, but twice! The first time, I let it slide, and the second time, I post a review to warn other potential customers. I'm hunting for another tree service. Waited weeks for the work to be done. Now here I am with the tree still there, a broken faucet, the main water turned off and a fence leaning against the tree. Update: They stated that the breaking of the faucet was because it wasn't up to code. They said it was supposed to be copper pipe connecting it. Well, I just had a licensed master plumber and a handyman confirm that the plumbing was up to code. read more

If there was such a thing as the tree mafia, Simply Trees would be at the top of the empire. My parents had work done by this "company" and not only do they not complete their work as stated, they removed a tree not in the scope, and threated to put a lien on my parents home if they didn't pay for work that wasn't done. Their prices are modern day highway robbery and the way they treat their customers, especially older customers, is devoid of anything even resembling human decency. Do not work with them. read more

Simply Trees was hired by the contractor who did infrastructure work in our neighborhood. Simply Trees was told to take out the 2 dead branches which were at the top of my tree. The wife of one of crew members knocked on my door and we discussed work to be done. She tried to talk me into work beyond what I wanted done....next thing I know the crew shows up without talking to me and starts cutting chunks off my tree. I asked (not nicely)what he was doing and he said the branch is dead - that's not what they were there for at all. He claimed the tree is dying, I don't care - that wasn't his scope of work. For a company who claims to be arborists the cuts left on my tree are not healthy for the tree and left a mess for me to clean up. I won't recommend this company ever! read more

All these negative reviews surprise me. Our experience with Simply Trees was excellent in all respects. The arborist who assessed our tree was knowledgeable and responsive. The scheduling was efficient, and the crew that removed the tree worked quickly, efficiently, and cleaned up 100%. We had a lot of questions along the way, and their customer service responded quickly, accurately, and completely. They really went the extra mile to take care of us. Pricing seemed to be in line with other companies and what neighbors told us to expect. I would definitely hire them again. read more

Simply trees took down one of our massive diseased live oak trees and did an excellent job. Joe came and introduced himself when the team arrived on time and everyone worked all day in 90 degree heat. Hats off to the entire crew: Joe, Anthony, Eric, David, Paul, and Joey. Amber did a great job of explaining the job to us and came twice to check that things were being done to our satisfaction. They also trimmed another live oak and a palm tree all done from 8 a.m. to 4:30. They cleaned the yard up and the stump grinder, Andrew, arrived in the late afternoon and finished it up. We were impressed with their professionalism. Would highly recommend Simply trees to anyone needing tree work in the Venice area. read more

I hired Simply Trees. It is a predoninantly family run business, and a lot of the responses that I see under inquiries for a tree service are from the family. I suppose you can advertise that way. Not very ethical. Financially they were on the high end, but many promises were made by Amber Delanney, Arborist and owner, so they threw out the bait, and I bit! Not many of these promises were fiilled. My tree looked as if nothiing had been done to it at all. Even my neighbors were commenting on it and asking me what Simply Trees had done for $2,500. My gutters were left totally packed full of leaves and branch parts. I had just climbed up there and cleaned out. Debris was left on my roof. On the ground, everything was blown under the plants that were encasing the Live Oak. The toxic (to dogs) oozing substance that was left both on the tree and on the ground gave mmy Labrador Retriever severe seizures, resulting in me having to take her to a Neurologist in Bradenton and pay $5,000 for an MRI, only to be told that her seizures were "environmental" induced. REALLY??? Thank you Simply Trees. When I called Amber Delaney to let her know that the work had not been finished, her comment to me was, "Call my attorney." That will give you an idea of their follow-through. One of the promises that were madem to me was that she would return after nthe job and make sure thatb everything was done to specs. I have documentation and pictures to prove all of the above statements that I have just made. This company sings a good song. They will physically, not leave your property, even if the work was not completed as you were told it would be, until they have received their final payment. Very friendly family. Just had the worst and most traumatic experience with a local tree company. Apparently, this week just isn't getting any better. I live in an area with lots of homeless people unfortunately. It happens, they walk down the road etc. They are homeless and mostly drunks, fixtures of this area ever since I moved here 10 years ago. Anyway, I took off work today for a tree removal company to come out and trim back one of my oak trees. This appointment was booked months ago, with a deposit down. I have to have the tree cut by September due to homeowner insurance/hurricane preparedness regulations. So this appointment was important to me, and I took off work for this. I knew something was off a week ago when they contacted me with a reminder with the wrong appointment date. I clarified that the work was supposed to be done on July 2, and screenshotted the convo I had with the owner, showing that that was the original plan. They apologized and said they would not be able to do it for that day, and it would have to be July 3. I explained okay well I already took off for the 2nd, but I'll ask for time off for the 3rd. My work granted approval and everything was fine. They show up today, 2 hours early with no notice, no phone call or anything. I was JUST getting home from my dermatologist appointment. I was like oh, it looks like you are here a lot earlier than expected. They then say they had some sort of confrontation with a homeless person who walked up to them while I was gone. I said I'm so sorry, we do have homeless people in this area. It's Osprey, there are a lot of homeless people here unfortunately. They said they were fine now and I asked if they needed anything. They said no and started working. They were polite and I told them if they needed my ladder they could use it etc. Then all of a sudden, I get a frantic call from The owner, saying that a gun was pulled on them. (I can't make this stuff up). I immediately freak out because at this point I think there's someone outside my house with a gun. I walk outside and everything is calm, they are packing up and leaving. I asked them why, since they seemed fine and did not communicate to me that anything was still amiss. They said we just got the call that we have to leave. So they literally made up a story about someone pulling a gun on them, on my property, to get out of the job. Literally I'm speechless and beyond upset. I'm in tears and am just so confused as to why they did that. It's one thing to leave a job if you don't feel safe because you run into a homeless person, it's ENTIRELY another thing to claim a gun was pulled. I'm very upset, they didn't call the cops, so I don't know what actually happened, but it's looking like they just wanted out of the job. I guess this is how my day is going to go? Seriously I'm in shock. This just happened an hour ago. Still processing it. read more

This tree is very important to us for the shade and the view from the road, so we were very careful who we hired to do the work. Two separated neighbors highly recommended this company. They were professional and knowledgeable. I would use them again. They are busy, so expect to wait a couple or three weeks for them to come, but it will be worth it. read more

Had just an estimate. Didn't use. Got what I feel was a high estimate. I couldn't afford it but what turned me off was that the person, and I won't go into detail, said my tree was a Water Oak and it's a Live Oak. I was like what? Are you kidding me? I always knew it to be a Live Oak and even looked up online to be sure and there is a page that even shows the difference. The person next door has a Water Oak and they said that was a Live Oak. Just the opposite. For the amount of trimming that was going to be done, barely anything, I felt it was very high. read more
