Wow. Holly expensive drinks! Two 16 oz blended mochas cost $12.85 cents! My bad for not asking, but I just paid and enjoyed. They were quite good but not at that price. It was a hot day and we did enjoy their cool. So two stars because of the price, not the quality. Or, because their espresso machine was broken. That happens. Last time we paid that much for equivalent drinks was downtown Chicago where it is expected, not Redfield, SD! read more

The Loftus Store is one of two original wood structures left from when Laura lived in De Smet. It was pretty neat to go into a store that Laura had actually shopped in! The very nice lady working at Loftus Store gave us all sorts of information about the store and pointed out some of the things in the store that are original. This store has a wide selection of De Smet/Laura Ingalls Wilder souvenirs...everything from tshirts, tote bags, even jewelry. They also have many other nice gift items not of the souvenir category, as well as local high school apparel and other clothing.
