I strongly caution future clients to think carefully before using this tax preparer. My husband and I originally had a good first impression and felt comfortable trusting her with our taxes. Unfortunately, that trust has been lost due to the lack of communication, professionalism, and transparency we have experienced. After our taxes were prepared, we discovered there was a significant difference between the refund amount we were originally told and what was reflected by the IRS. We immediately reached out multiple times by phone and text asking for an explanation and simply requesting communication. We were not asking for anything unreasonable we just wanted answers and an understanding of what happened. Despite multiple attempts to contact her, we still have not received any direct communication, phone call, or explanation. We were later informed through an email that our tax return had been amended, but we were never given a clear explanation of what was changed, why it was changed, or any opportunity to discuss the situation beforehand. This has been extremely disappointing and stressful. When you trust someone with something as important as your taxes, you expect honesty, professionalism, and communication. Unfortunately, that is not the experience we have had. We made every effort to resolve this privately and gave multiple opportunities for communication. We simply wanted answers and transparency, but we continue to be left without an explanation. Future clients deserve a tax professional who values communication, keeps clients informed, and takes their concerns seriously. Based on our experience, we would not recommend using this tax preparer. I truly hope this review encourages her to communication so we can finally resolve this matter. We never wanted it to get to this point. A simple courtesy call or honest explanation could have prevented a lot of frustration. I went to Lizeth for 5 years, including her time previously with IQTAXX. She was ok to start, and bragged about the box of blank/fake receipts in her office. In 2019, she filed for my pandemic relief, and it ($25K+ was rejected because she used wrong dates & incorrectly filed. I called to ask what happened, and she REFUSED to meet with me. My 2019 federal taxes she prepared were incorrectly filed with excessive deductions she had claimed & the IRS billed me $11,500, including $8,600 in improper deductions and $2,900 on fines and interest. I again reached out to Simplex to help, and she AGAIN refused to meet with me and never responded to my texts & emails. Lizeth & Simplex are SCAMMERS. She gives you a fake sense of comfort in her services, but is NEVER there to help you when you really need it. She has cost me $35,000+ do to her incompetence, and is TERRIBLE at communicating/following up with you. read more

We had an appointment in March and it was very busy so she asked if she could email me my corrected state return (I'm not a NV resident) the next day so she could keep her appointments. I agreed. This is the best place I've filed taxes.... and I was referred by a friend that said this is a hidden jewel. Lizeth's knowledge of accounting is very deep. And her tax saving advices are spot on, she knows the "landscape" really well. She quickly figured out my business and how to position it very well for max tax savings and growth. She saved me thousands of dollar the last few years, which would have been lost if I used similar services that didn't apply all newest practices/regulations etc. She's also super organized and helps you when you need copies of your documents you can't find! The only negative is that she is typically fully booked and hard to get appointment! Lizeth was recommended to me for her professionalism. We discussed about negotiation with IRS to lower down my tax payment when we first met in June. I was very comfortable to entrusting my tax filing to her as she seems very knowledgeable at first. Hi Lizette ! We haven't got our refund yet and understand there may be a delay to Covid. We filed April 4 2020 of this year so we got ahold of someone through the IRS this month (August), to see what the hold up was. A few of our friends got theirs done after us with you and received their refunds right away. The IRS lady stated there was an error with the EIN number that was inputted and that it did not match the governments, and to touch base with you to see if we could correct it. I've left a few messages , emails , and voice mails since June and haven't got word oranything back yet. Hopefully we could get ahold of you here ! Update 9/2/2020 : Xavier reached out to us August 13 2020 apologizing for the late responses and informed us they had closed their doors due to covid. I went to Liz late Feb for my tax return. I misssx out one document so she said call her to let her know the information when I get home; she would complete the return then. I did and emailed all requested documents. Since then she just ghosted out. I called multiple times. Email follow ups. Got promised to have a call back many times. She NEVER responded. 2020 changed a lot of us Lizeth is no exception. There was a delay with her filing our taxes in march but it was at the beginning of quarantine and totally understandable. She did a fantastic job when it was finally submitted. She informed me she could help me with my PUA Claim in july, i paid her for that service. She did initial set up and its been pending since. On January 1st i was denied and i reached out to her for further assistance to appeal and recieved no reply. I made 3 appointments and she never showed or made any contact with me what so ever. In October she offered to help me with an SBA grant. I gave her all the info she said she needed and up until the deadline she was posting on social media not to miss out but somehow was still trying to submit mine at 4:59pm for the 5pm deadline which we didn't make. In November i became eligible for CHAPS and they required me to submit my tax returns. I reached out to Liz several times to get the passcode she added to my file with no response. When she did respond she stated her son was in the ER and to wait patiently. I still have not recieved the passcode requested. She used to be the very best in town. Communication is vital to everyone and im heart broken to be forced to sever ties. read more

Not gonna lie, my first review was 5 stars and short because that's the only way we could get the discount on the fee for filing our tax return with them. Pros: 1) Fast - We were in and out in less than 30 minutes 2) Friendly 3) Received our tax return Cons: 1) Small and sketchy looking inside: the waiting area is about the size of my couch 2) No privacy - While you're sitting at the desk discussing private information, you'll be able to hear the conversation of another client's at the desk next to you as will everyone else in the waiting room 3) In order to get the discount as a first time customer, you need to leave a 5-star review right there and then. The worker will literally sit there and wait for you to do it before continuing with the transaction. 4) It's been almost a year and they still haven't replied to my Yelp message. Do not message them. Call them. 5) The gentlemen who helped us was very friendly, but unprofessional by using curse words like he was our buddy. If you just want to file your taxes or take of whatever business while not caring who hears what, then this place is for you. However, if you have sensitive information and you don't want a room full of strangers hearing about your personal life, then perhaps you should continue your search like me. read more

I started using Liz through my husbands request since he was using her to file his taxes for a few years. Upon his unexpected death I had quite a few issues with the IRS which I reached out to her for help. She asked me to come in with my tax returns and the letters from the IRS I had received. She told me what would need to be done but never actually did anything. I have been reaching out to her for months to retrieve my tax documents (which she still currently has) and she either has a family "emergency" or outright doesn't reply to me. I had to go to a different tax person to help me sort out the IRS situation because I never heard back from Liz. And the only time Liz did call me was to tell me she wasn't going to correct my taxes without getting paid which was obvious, I never expect anyone to work for free but the fact that she called me simply to bombard me with her fees was very unprofessional. I also made the mistake of recommending Liz (back in 2020) to my family. They also had to do deal with issues after filing with her. It almost seemed like they were scammed by her!! I had the pleasure of working with Lizeth. Not only was she super friendly but she was knowledgeable. She gave me advice, helped me find write offs that I had missed and also how to better prepare myself for next year. I also had help with any business questions I had as I am an independent contractor looking to start my own business (LLC). Right away, she saved me money there by showing me resources that were free or low cost so that I didn't have to use companies that charge ridiculous fees to set up an LLC. Within the past few years, because of me being self employed, I've had to pay out of pocket for my taxes (5 digit numbers!). I haven't had a return in years and just last year I was charged almost $350.00 in preparation fees from a different tax preparation service. This wasn't the case with Simplex. Not only was I charged LESS money in preparation fees, but she was able to get me a return which, as I said , I haven't had in 5 years! I thought this was the best tax person ever UNTIL I received a letter from the IRS that our taxes were submitted incomplete. I understand that mistakes happen and I was more than willing to let the mistake go. The problem is that it has been over 2 months of trying to get in contact with Lizeth. She requested us to email her the letter from the IRS and now she is ghosting us. NO RESPONSE! We can not get our refund that is several thousand dollars because she refuses to follow through to fix her mistake. We have called and texted numerous times and we get ZERO reply from her. I am not a tax expert and don't know how to fix the incomplete taxes. All of my co-workers referred her to me, but after this situation they are choosing someone else next year. UPDATE ***** Unfortunately i had a very bad experience after being a client for a couple of years. I recently relocated to NC and i was hoping to continuing using them for my taxes. Lizeth agreed to do our taxes and schedule a phone appointment with me. She was two hours late for our appointment which at first i thought it wasn't a big deal because i understand that it is a busy time of the year.
