We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay at Simonstone Hall in July.
The hall and grounds are pretty and the atmosphere is friendly and cosy. The greeting at check in was warm and friendly (lady with wavy grey hair) and it set the tone for the entire stay.
Bar and restaurant staff was efficient and friendly and we really liked the overall the vibe of the place. The common areas are nicely furnished and very attractive.
Our room was comfy, bedding and bath linens were nice, my wife enjoyed the big bathtub.
Maintenance was a bit shoddy here and there (peeling paint in our bathroom and in a few of the common areas) but all in all it felt like a very grand country home.
We would definitely return. read more
