The service is cordial and much more pleasant than I'm used to receiving in Germany. The first time I ate here I had a basic Wienerschnitzel with a Weißbier. Excellent, but it's hard to go wrong there. The second time, I had some pineapple pork chops. I forget the sides that came with it, but I remember being impressed with how everything complemented each other, the creativity behind the dish, and the artful way it was presented. The last time I was here, I ordered the Salad Vitalis. It was huge and filling, and I'm a guy who used to eat Double Whopper w/cheese combo meals. The salad is served in a ridiculously oversized dish that is similar in shape and size to the helmet of Lord Dark Helmet from "Spaceballs", just flipped upside down. I recommend this place for lunch.

The locals come…read morehere and enjoy the Marktfrühstück while seated on the cobblestone street, or perhaps a pie and coffee. I myself broke ranks and ordered the English Breakfast, which was an okay decision. The food itself was tasty enough, but it wasn't what I'd call authentic. Still, tasty. This is also a preferred location in Aalen for an evening coffee, or to have a relaxed cocktail before going to a more happening location. Service is friendly and laid back, which is my way of saying that I thought it was slow until I realised that I was in the quiet town of Aalen, where shops close at 1PM on Saturdays. So, no, it isn't slow per se, just...laid back. So why only three instead of four or five? Food was good, but not stellar. Coffee was good, but not great, though I do give props for pouring a proper latte macchiato. Prices seem a little high. I do have to heartily recommend the Austrian Walnut Bread. That is a fine bread and you would upgrade your breakfast/brunch experience significantly by ordering a basket of just that.

Happened sometimes that they did not know what they serve or have troubles mixing it. Still it is worth a visit even is some prices are a little too steep for a bar in a small city.
