I appreciate the work that a photographer does and I think their work has value. I state this to emphasize the fact that I'm not some rando pissed off at not getting a free service and trying to squeeze out a bargain. I got an ad for Reclamation Boudoir through Instagram advertising a "$99 boudoir shoot." Sounds amazing, and tbh they had been on my short list for a local boudoir photographer. When I saw the deal, I thought it was too good to be true, but took it as an opportunity to inquire further. I was scheduled for a late (8:30 PM) consult call. I got a confirmation text to which I confirmed one hour before. She never called and never contacted me back to explain why. I messaged her a few times to ask for an update. Her assistant texted me back the day after or so saying the photographer had to reschedule. Fine. We rescheduled. She never called. I also found out that the photographer would "discuss pricing and packages," which was surprising to me since it had been advertised as a $99 fee. If it had been more than that and the fee was something else, it would have been fine it the fact had been explicitly stated, but not after I had already inquired about it. Again, I am willing and I have paid upwards of $750 for a professional photoshoot before. I believe people should be compensated fairly for services provided. My reasoning for the rating was due to the poor customer service and the bait and switch pricing model. Just be honest about it. Why hide your prices if you're willing to stand up for the quality you provide?
