Graham's is an excellent and awesome shoe store for a couple of reasons…read more 1. The price point of every pair is not ridiculously high 2. The selection is offbeat and fun 3. The staff is fun 4. There are always lots of shoes on sale, especially between seasons Selling a range of casual sneaks, edgy leather boots and unusual and fun heels, Graham's has a great mix of stuff that will keep you from blending in. Think of this place as a little bit indie. They sell a few brands that I have always loved - Poetic License and Irregular Choice, which I haven't found anywhere else in Dublin. The prices aren't bad, and the sale prices are awesome. Lots of pairs are half off or even more! Definitely check this place out if you're not interested in the cookie cutter party girl look.

Hello "Hello" said…read morethe nice but clearly tired shop assistant, "how can I help you?" She looked at me, realised it was unlikely that I was in to get shoes for myself (we were in the kids dept) and looked for the child that must be somewhere in tow. ...there he was... faster than a speeding bullet, diving through my legs, past the fish tank (really big, impressive and colourful) and under the benches. She looks at the legs and feet poking out, measures the feet and gets a selection of runners for himself. The selection was big and well chosen.... All bright, boyish and garish as hell. I spotted the ones he would go for immediately - not the most expensive (but not cheap), but by far the brightest most garish runners I have ever seen - they even had lights, lots of lights. Within 2 mins he had them on He didn't take them off for 3 days. Great shop, great (and very tolerant) staff.

Who loves shoes? I love shoes! The odder the better. My love affair with Schuh began in this tiny…read moreflagship store many moons ago. I am a huge fan of irregular choice and red or dead, and they do both as well as other stuff. I still have all my Schuh purchases, the oldest is pushing 6 years, I kid you not, they stock good quality so it's worth the money. Staff are great because they have often put up with my moaning about the shoe not being in the colour I want or size, and instead of stabbing me they actually have taken the time to call all their sister stores and even their UK stores, yup they are good people. If you want a pair of shoes that people will admire and want, come here. Best of all they are always refreshing the line, so chances are you will not face the cringe factor of seeing someone else in your shoes.

Schuh gets my vote as being one of, if not the, best shoe shops in Dublin. For gals they carry they…read morecarry a ton of fashionable heels and flats by their own label as well as others. But where they really excel is the variety of casual sneakers they have for girls. I've noticed a lot of shops in Dublin carry tons of these every day shoes for guys but little to no options for girls. We don't always prance around in high heels, in fact I rarely do! So I was pretty much in sneaker heaven at Schuh. They also carry a lot of different labels like the very unique Irregular Choice, the edgy Red or Dead and the comfy, hippie trainers and flats that are Simple. These are rare finds in any other shoe shop, but Schuh's full of them. They've got tons of old standards like Converse and Doc Marten if you don't feel like straying quite so far out of your comfort zone. Their selection for guys is also great in terms of trainers. They also have a wonderful variety of leather shoes appropriate for the office or a night on the town.

This leads me to believe that a pair of shoes purchased at Korky's will be part of your wardrobe for years, maybe even becoming your indespensible favorite. They have a really nice and large selection of boots that go from comfortable flat leather boots with rugged heels to those with patent-leather detailing and a stiletto heel. Everything seems constructed to stand the test of time. They do have some pretty heels and more casual numbers as well. They all seem to have a bit of a funky twist to them which, in a sea of girls wobbling around on the same heels they all bought at Topshop, will let you covertly stand out in the crowd.

Sure there's (mostly) sensible sneaks and work-appropriate heels... but why bother when you can have 4.5 inch silver heels with a 2 inch platform and rhinestones? The cost is just about the same but the impact goes on for miles; and the selection rotates on a reliably regular basis. Another note for those with strong calves and a shortage of tall boots that fit, Korky's does get in a certain amount of that appropriately sized stock so keep your eyes peeled!
