I love this place. It's been around for years - I think maybe before I was even born. It's a staple in my hometown.
It used to be just a bakery, but in recent years they've expanded it slightly to include a small seating area where you can have a coffee or a spot of lunch. It's pretty basic inside, but it's clean and comfortable.
You can see into the kitchen where everything is prepared, which is a nice touch. I personally can't eat wheat (I'm 'glutarded', as my sister likes to call it), but it always smells amazing in here and I bring my kid-brothers in regularly as a little treat. They love the cakes and the biscuits, and my parents buy fresh bread from here every week.
They also have lunchtime extras like jacket potatoes, a salad/filling bar, sausage rolls etc. It's often hard to find a seat as it's understandably very popular. read more
