I initially just ordered a sandwich and a lemonade at a franchise in Istanbul. The service was average. The sandwich consisted of one thin slice of bologna that barely covered the surface of the sliced bread roll, one slice of cheese that covered less than half of the sliced bread roll, one small slice of tomato that covered a quarter of the sliced bread roll, and a piece of lettuce that covered about half of the sliced bread roll -- which, by the way, was very thick, so the taste in the end was mostly that of the bread itself. Furthermore, considering that this is a "bakery-cafe", the bread did not taste fresh, despite requesting that it be heated (not even the cheese melted). The lemonade is artificial, with the citric powder after-taste included. For USD$9, I think this is poor "value for you money" -- one of the claimed "brand values of this franchise. I then had a simit which was tasty but also not very fresh (a little hard/stale). The hot tea however was good. read more
