Permier Medical in Sumter and Wildwood has the worst customer service. Last year i had an…read moreappointment in Sumter and had to wait 45 min after my appointment. In October of 2025 I had an appointment to renew my medicine. Finish my appointment and the next day I went to the pharmacy to pick it up. The doctor never sent it. Call the office and was told I had to schedule another appointment because the doctor is no longer there. I schedule it for November. Got a call two days before my appointment and was told the new doctor no longer takes my insurance. Made another appointment for December with a new doctor and scheduled it for the Wildwood office. Got up and went to my appointment. Arrive 15 mins ahead of time, 5 min after my appointment was scheduled someone came on the screen at the desk, she stated all appointment were canceled. I never got a call. Just then my phone rang and it was premier Medical. I told them I was at the office and she said ok and hung up. Never scheduled a new appointment. Went back to talk to the person on the screen and she said I should of made an appointment with the staff on the phone. I left the office and called to reschedule the appointment in my car. Did so! 30 minutes later the call and said they over booked and said the needed to reschedule for January. Now I had already gone to urgent care twice because I was having an allergic reaction to something and my body was covered in hives. I tried to explain that to the appointment associate. She said sorry cant help until January. I said no thank you I will get my records and change Doctors and practice. I went to the Sumter office paid for my records and told the receptionist I was leaving the Practice. January 4 Premier Medical called and asked me why I did not show up for my appointment. Explained the situation again and said please do not charge my insurance or me, I did not schedule this appointment because I was out of town. This week they called me reschedule my appointment for my medication. So thanks for your concern, I will not be back!

I was deeply disappointed by how this healthcare company handled its patients and staff before and…read moreafter bankruptcy. After years of building trust within the community, the company went bankrupt and sold to CenterWell Senior Primary Care, leaving many longtime patients -- especially veterans relying on Tricare as their primary insurance -- feeling abandoned. Veterans who served this country deserved continuity of care and transparency, not sudden disruption and uncertainty. Many patients had established relationships with their doctors for years, only to find themselves scrambling to locate new providers and navigate insurance confusion during an already stressful transition. What makes this even more frustrating is that public statements during the sale process suggested patients would continue to have access to their insurance coverage under the new ownership structure. Yet many patients later experienced uncertainty or loss of access depending on their plan participation and contract negotiations. The bankruptcy itself was tied to massive Medicare billing discrepancies reportedly totaling hundreds of millions of dollars. Unfortunately, it feels like the people who paid the price were the patients -- particularly seniors and veterans who depended on stable healthcare access. Healthcare organizations should prioritize patient care and loyalty during transitions, not leave vulnerable populations feeling discarded. I sincerely hope veterans and affected patients receive the support and continuity of care they deserve moving forward.
