While it was a weekend, anyone living in an area serviced by a well knows, how irritatingly inconvenient it is to be without water for more than 15 minutes. I had a similar experience this summer when we woke to no water and I called the local company I have used in the past. He failed to answer within a few hours, so I googled well service in Glastonbury and made calls to two other local companies. Within 10 minutes, Mr Ripley the owner of Northeast Well called back and said he could come out within an hour. "Believe it or not", he arrived within the promised time and thankfully diagnosed the issue as a simple blown switch which was replaced in record time. While here, he mentioned I should think about having the well cap replaced since it was loose and not secured allowing stuff to enter the pipe. He quoted me what sounded like a reasonable price and since he came so promptly even though we were not a longtime customer, I decided to give him the okay to do the work then if he had time. In no time at all, I had a shiny, secure new blue well cap! Mr Ripley, "Charlie" owns this Glastonbury business and has operated it for 30 years. Being a homeowner here for 25 years, I was surprised to learn this since there seems to be two other companies in town that everyone uses and I had never heard of it. I am happy to recommend this company and I will call Northeast Well Pump first if I ever have a well issue because of the way he handled my summer well issue and his prompt response to my friend this weekend. The company has adopted the tech to keep in touch with their customers which makes planning an appointment and the arrival of the work person an excellent experience for the customer. Then he's asking me a bunch of questions about why I'm getting my boiler replaced and it's like dude just tell me how much the replacement is going to be that's all I want to know like you're here to give me a number not an interrogation. Hey then proceeds to ask me when I plan to get it done and I told him 30 days . His response was well why not today . Considering he came in a hatchback I didn't think he was equipped to come to do the job today but I wanted to get it done in 30 days . So I just repeat no 30 days because at this point I am getting frustrated with him . So he repeats why not today . So I hand him his business card back and apologize for him having to come all the way out here and asked him to leave . He tried to give me his card back after I just handed it back to him and asked him to leave and wanted to continue the conversation. I had to basically walk him to his car . My business is not his business I said 30 days I have nobody else that came to give me a quote was so intrusive or invasive and I don't know if it was because he's trying to sell me something or because I'm a woman but it immediately put me off and made me feel very uncomfortable.
