The…read morefact that a 7 year old is all smiles getting a hair cut says a lot about the type of crew that works here. I watched customers fist bumping their barber and everyone was smiling. My opinion is that this shop should be avoided. They have no respect for time, are never on time,…read moresometimes don't even show up, especially Jay. Jay has no respect for time and is not capable of an adult discussion even when clearly late and with no concern for personal respect. Also, my experience is that the environment is absolutely inappropriate for children due to the language used and subjects talked about out loud. If you have respect for yourself, I recommend avoiding this shop.

I've been going to Billy's for the better part of 2 years now, and I have been satisfied every time…read morewith my haircut. Both Billy and Shannon do an excellent job. It does have an "old school" feel to it as some other people have mentioned on yelp, and I sincerely think they do a good job pulling it off. Every time I go I don't have to say anything besides "the usual" and Billy will know what to do. Haircuts are very reasonably priced at $19 for a men's haircut, and includes a nice warm shave for the sideburns and upper neck. The two are always pleasant, always lively, and always professional. I would highly recommend Billy G's over any of the chain stores popping up nearby that cycle through new barbers every other month. Note: they're constantly busy, so it would be best to make a reservation. Even with a reservation sometimes you might have to wait 10-15 minutes, but the quality is certainly worth it.

Since moving to Toms River 3 yrs ago I have tried most of the local barber shops in the immediate…read morearea. Some I liked but are hard to get into and most straight up suck. I was a little excited when I saw the new business coming because the shop is about 1/4 mi from my home. Unfortunately with my past experiences with area barbers my expectations were low. I was driving by and noticed the "OPEN" sign on in the window. I parked right in front (they're located next to the Tai restaurant) I popped in and as expected beIng a Wed afternoon, they weren't busy. There was one customer in the chair and the barber said I was next. I sat and absorbed the place. First it's all freshly done, 3 or 4 unoccupied custom barber stations are along the wall. TVs litter this place, did I count 3 or 4? Lots of greys and blacks throughout, not dark, well lighted, modern and comfortable. I was up next in the chair. The young barber introduced himself as Anthony the Owner. I congratulated him on his new venture. He told me he was previously from Jerry's barber shop, he's been cutting hair for 8yrs. He was very nice and personable. He asked how I wanted my hair done and he went to work. We chatted it up quite a bit, he took his time and it was a pleasurable experience. They have yet to do the actual grand opening which will come early in Feb. They are currently cash only, I'm assuming they will take cards at some point. The men's haircut was $25, a little steep for the area, but honestly worth the cut and experience. I love seeing people going on their own and taking the risk of opening a business. Congrats to Anthony on this venture, the future is bright.
