The filming had been completed, but certain dialogue needed to be re-recorded by the actors. Campbell, the owner of the studio, was first rate in every aspect. He is patient, helpful and an expert sound engineer. He worked with my client and the actors to get the recordings to match beautifully, did all the the post-production work (editing, mixing, etc.) and did so super efficiently. The movie ended up looking and sounding terrific. In 2022, Campbell recorded the entire audiobook for one of my clients who is an author. They scheduled the recording so that my client could do it in manageable chunks of three hours a day. After each day recording, Campbell would go through that day's recordings, make any edits needed, mark the spots he felt could be re-recorded, and sent them to the author so that she could have her input. The audiobook came out beautifully. Throughout this time, I have used Rocinante Studios to record dialogue for my own audiobooks, video game voiceovers, as well as audio exercises for my students (I am a Voice & Speech Coach). Campbell and his partner Suz are a joy to work with. They are super fair in their pricing, very amenable to working with us in terms of scheduling, and most importantly, provide top-tier recording results. The studio is also set up for music recording. Although I haven't used Rocinante for that purpose, I have listened to the music recordings made there and they are all top top-quality. This is a great studio to work with!

I met Campbell shortly after they moved to Los Angeles. I knew he worked in music but I didn't know to what extent. So many people in Los Angeles say they are producers and really can't produce anything... that is ABSOLUTELY NOT the case with Cambell and his studio. He is such a true professional who makes you feel like you have creative freedom, yet helps you critique and cultivate your project to get the best for it. The studio space it so awesome!!!!!!! It's a comfortable atmosphere that is neat, clean and such a great space to work, perform and create in. This studio is the total package right here!!!! Working with Rene at Future Sound Studios was the best decision I made in 2018…read more The worst decision I made was using my drummer's boyfriend's studio. I had three great songs that I had written over the summer that I decided needed recording for my debut album. My drummer offered her bf's studio to record the band, which was cool at first. It ended up being a HUGE mistake--the drums sounded AWFUL recorded in his place. Small, tinny, behind-a-padded-wall sound. Out of sync totally. Not to mention his overall attitude was weird--it ended up being his session, not mine. I thought there was no hope for saving these records. And I still had yet to record my vocals. Luckily, we found Rene on Yelp. With his help, I was able to record my vocals and get the drums fixed to a T. Rene made my songs go from B-side 1960's crap small-studio sounding to 2019 sparkling, widescreen Katy Perry perfection. We also go the songs done relatively quickly. I was obviously a bit trepidatious going back into a studio after that last experience, but I shouldn't have been. Rene is very nice and personable, the opposite of what I experience so often in Hollywood. I felt comfortable in his studio the second I stepped foot inside. Rene and I are also on the same wavelength creatively--we both feel when a take is right and when it's not, when a song is hot and when it's not. He is very honest and will tell you the truth, which I appreciate. My favorite part of working with him is his sense of humor. I also respect how I requested no autotune on my voice and he actually listened--most other engineer/producers I've worked with laugh right in my face at that and never do it, they're too egotistical to ever let the singer make mistakes on their record. But he let me try it. Remember, as a mixer, masterer and engineer, his success is your success. He is a hard worker-I must have asked him for 40 files for TV and film placement purposes and he sent me every single one immediately. He is a walking plethora of musical knowledge. The actual room is small where I recorded, but it worked fine for me and my backup singer. If you really wanted to, you could cram a small choir in there, maybe a horn. Rene's studio is for overdubs, not bands. So, keep that in mind. Although he does have other rooms. Great, high-quality gear, too. Fantastic mics. Rene is awesome! We already had the drums tracked and needed to record all the other instruments and vocals. We met Stefano through mutual friends and he turned out to be extremely knowledgeable about music production, and he was able to help us achieve a very professional sound. Since then we have recorded 3 more albums with him and he's always been very professional and helpful, not only with tracking and mixing but also in engaging us with production ideas and guiding us through the tracking process. We also used his partner Ross to master everything we've recorded there. I'm not sure what kind of voodoo magic that guy even does, but somehow the songs come back from him even more alive than they were in the first place. He does live on the other side of the country but that didn't seem to be a problem. Stefano talks to him directly and everything gets done very quickly.
