Harvest Hills Market is quite alright. It is a nice little natural foods store adjacent to Precita…read morePark. The store was established in 1918 as Cancilla Market. I'm not sure when it became Harvest Hills Market. The current Harvest Hills Market has a nice selection of organic produce, a whole wide range selections of Amy's Soups, other essentials such as non-dairy yogurt, non-dairy milk, hummus, tofu, & more. The prices overall are a bit costly yet if you live in the neighborhood might be more convenient to pick up some items. Pro tip: keep your eye out for specials. When I was last here they had two containers of organic strawberries for just $3 which is a good deal. I'll be back next time I'm in the area!

Literally there is something spoiled, old, rotten or expired in every food item I have purchased. Aside from being way overpriced, they do not behave like a neighborhood spot. I've brought rotting fruit/avocados back-they never allow for a return its not their problem. it IS their problem. I just bought some chips-$7. SO STALE I ALMOST BROKE A TOOTH. like really? are they trying to be terrible neighbors? it could be so good, its in a great neighborhood wherer people support buying local. But there is zero reciprocity. i am so DONE. Save some cash, go a few blocks up to mission st to casa lucas or guadalupe.

This particular location seems to have less inventory than the Hayes Valley location but that's understandable as they probably have less foot traffic - there were maybe two other shoppers in the store at the same time as me. I'm a slow shopper so I meandered through the entire store for a bit before choosing a box of candy near the front of the store. I would have wanted 3 boxes but only saw the one box sitting by itself so I asked the only staff member I saw if they had any more. He said something along the lines of "we're not Safeway, we don't have a bunch of inventory laying around" - kind of cold and unfriendly so I didn't even try to ask if other locations might have any or if there was any other similar products he could recommend. I just bought the one item but if I had felt a bit more welcome, I would have potentially bought several more gifts. YMMV.
