My son has been a student at Saint Joseph's for two years. He is currently in kindergarten From…read moreday one I have been impress with the teaching staff . My son is also in the after care program which runs till 6pm and every day I see teachers who have worked a long full day still at school working on new lessons and projects for the students! To see my son have teachers who care so much about him and work hard to make him the best student he can be makes me so proud of my son and this school. Once word gets out on this school it will become very hard for new students to attend. Yes the school is that good.

Great in sports number 1 in football and baseball We had classmates that were the head of George Town Hospital Many successful came out of out class. Sure the nuns were tough but so were we but we learned i wish I could start over again. we really had fun and learned a lot. Those nuns were the smartest people I ever knew, They could even see out of the back back or their head.This new generation just can not hack the pressure I went there 60 years ago and I wish my children went there .

Cultures don't always change even over a very long time...kids got their hands slapped with a ruler, sent to clean the toilet if any misbehavior, silence at all times in the classroom was the rule....the nuns were miserable unhappy women who took it out on the children, screeching in anger, slapping children...this is 100% true and I have never forgotten about it--my parents took me out after 2 years...

I wanted to share my experience with Julia Brown School regarding my daughter's time there…read more Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing and left us feeling that the environment was not supportive of helping children adjust and thrive. When my daughter was placed in a new classroom, she had been there for less than a full day before we began receiving calls asking us to pick her up because she was "not listening to instructions." As any parent knows, transitions to a new classroom can be challenging for young children. It typically takes time for them to feel comfortable with new teachers, classmates, and expectations. Instead of allowing her a reasonable adjustment period or working with us on strategies to help her settle in, the school seemed irritated by the situation and quick to remove her from the classroom. We were hoping the staff would demonstrate patience, professionalism, and a child-centered approach--giving her at least a week or two to adapt to the new environment. Unfortunately, that level of support and understanding was not demonstrated. Repeated calls to pick her up after such a short time in the classroom made it feel like the priority was convenience rather than helping a child succeed. Every child deserves educators who are willing to guide them through transitions with patience and care. We had hoped for a more supportive and professional approach from the school in ensuring that our child had the opportunity to adjust and thrive.

The teachers are phenomenal and the campus is clean and neat. School communications are clear and prompt, there's always someone there to answer questions or concerns. One of my favorite parts of JBS Silver Spring is the community. We have met life-long friends both for the kids and us parents. Often when a child leaves JBS Silver Spring, we stay in touch with the family since the kids build such a close bond. I can't imagine us being anywhere else, it's truly our dream school come true.

My son attended childway college park from 8months to 5 years old!…read more We love this place. We started with Ms Bushra as director. Once Ms. Sahshi came on board, things went to an even better place. She is such a great director. My son loved his teachers: Ms. Fereshteh and Ms. Erica. There's another teacher he absolutely adores, but I forgot her name. I watch them clean the toys daily. They take the kids out and they get plenty of exercise. The teachers really treat the kids like their own. It's a personal experience. I've also had parties their and the school is very accommodating. All the teachers really teach the kids. My son was so far advanced when he entered Pre-K because of his teachers at Childway.

The school is dated and could use some visual tweaks but it is a wonderful place to learn. The cafeteria serves vegetarian food items, but you can pack whatever lunch you want to send. The location is approximately 2 miles from the Takoma Park Metro station. The gym is a popular venue to rent for parties and is usually booked 8 months ahead. Bonus points for the fun snacks in Kindergarden class.
