Stay away from this business, this guy is a crook! Over and over again we hear of more customers that have been taken advantage of and cheated out of their promised projects. My family personally has been affected greatly by Dennis Timm, a sad excuse for a small town business owner. A man with zero integrity. We were oversold, over promised followed by awful treatment and communication. Once the project was "sold" you never saw him again. The crew he sent was unprofessional and had no clue what the project details were. We were asked questions upon questions- making us the general contractor. The crew even asked us for a tip to get lunch, they didn't want to finish the job because they were tired and hungry, the list goes on... Unbelievable practices from so called experts. Dennis Timm charged us for planting shrubs that didn't get planted. When trying to communicate or receive a refund of any sort, Dennis became extremely defensive and vulgar and even threatened my husband when leaving a review was mentioned, Dennis responded, "Oh, you don't want to start a war with me!" The same exact words he used when threatening our neighbor, a year ago. This guy is a fraud and should not receive anyone's business, trust or support. Terrible experience. We were treated very poorly by both the owner and staff. Their communication with us was very poor. They show up when they want, send different people, and can't seem to finish a project. We were a small job pushed to the side. I would never hire Silver Mist to do anything! read more

Our experience with Silvermist landscaping and garden center was absolutely awful. you will be highly frustrated with the whole experience and the end result should you choose to go with Silvermist to do your landscaping project. The communication between the owner Dennis, his employees, and us, the customer was nonexistent until I forced him to communicate with me by reaching out several times. The project was completed way later than he said it would be and after we paid our money down and he had it he didn't come do the job. It was supposed to be done in September and then got bumped back and then it was spring, but July is when the project finally got done. I got billed for things that they didn't do. His employees came without a foreman and asked us what they were supposed to do. His employees asked for a tip because they claimed gave me a free tree and then I got billed for the free tree. Just an all-around awful experience and when I told Dennis about it, he was swearing at me and when I told him I was gonna give him a bad review on here, he told me not to start a war with him. It gets worse because I'm a painting contractor, and my neighbor had me stain their deck and when I asked them who did their landscaping project they said Silvermist as well. I asked how it went. They told me the same exact story. It ended with swearing by the owner Dennis Timm, and he told them not to start a war with him. This guy is reckless and absolutely needs to be stopped. This is not how you do business in a small town. I can't imagine going out to local restaurants, knowing how many people you've not treated fairly. like I said, I'm a contractor and I work with other contractors all the time and this is a business and a man I absolutely caution and warn you to the highest severity not to work with. You will be highly disappointed, feel like you were treated like a number, and at the end of the day, you'll know that you only were a paycheck to him and he doesn't care how your project turned out. read more

We had our front porch and back deck replaced, along with a patio put in. Not even a year in, and sideboards are already warping. Rock and mulch were put in spots that was not discussed. The mulch wasn't put down properly, so we already have weeds and grass coming up, even with a sheet down underneath the mulch. Some things we discussed were not put in, or ignored. Rocks were supposed to be removed, and we ended up having to have someone else remove them from our yard. The yard was supposed to be graded, but it's bumpier than it was before. The mess left of stone and such had to be cleaned up by us, which if we are paying a good chunk of money to have work to be done, I would expect clean-up to be included. And while supply issues are still a problem, I would highly suggest to any company to either way until they have all the materials or to clearly communicate and make sure the client is okay with delays. The owner never came out besides the first time (to give a quote) to check on the progress. We had to call multiple times to push progress forward, and it's still not even 100% completed. Serious lack of communication from not only the owner, but the business as a whole. Calls not returned, or even ignored. Yes, we made a couple mistakes on our end, but in a landscaping business, the customer should be content with the work. I am severely disappointed and regret suggesting them to my husband. I would not suggest using them for any job or work, unless they do some serious work within the company. read more

If you are looking for great service, friendly family owned business this is your place to go. Chad and his son Colton have great knowledge of what they sell. They offer organic feed for chickens and that is a huge plus. I am so happy to have them in our community. I am hoping they get in more organic herbs and I am sure this will happen because if you ask for it they will check to see if they can get it in and begin to stock it. I came here to get some herbs, and later on in the summer some flowers. They have a lot there, but it's fairly pricey. Near the middle/end of July, everything goes on sale, and they have a buy 2 get one free deal. I would definitely go here again--the soil I got for my patio containers was absolutely amazing, and I have never grown better herbs! I might also get a rosemary tree, and then some flowers once they go on sale. I would recommend it, but be on the lookout for a deal, and price other places before making a final decision. read more

Silver Mist garden center has everything you could need for lawns, flowers and vegetable gardens. The manager, Chad keeps the store clean, neat and well organized. Their inventory is constantly changing so you see new and different things when you go in. The prices are competitive and plants are very hardy. They have always been very friendly and I use them for buying bulk decorative rocks and they are fair in price.

What started out good ended up being awful. I called from out-of-state to order a plant for a family funeral. The guys I spoke with were so nice and helpful, emailed me photos of some choices, etc. and I was told the pot would be wrapped and the plant delivered in plenty of time before the visitation. The day the visitation started, family noticed the plant was not there so they called; the woman said it couldn't be delivered...what? Really? So a family member had to leave and go pick it up and had to stop to get foil to wrap the pot, which had not been done either. When I called to ask what happened, the woman said there were only she and another woman there and they couldn't leave to do a delivery...seriously? And why hadn't they called earlier in the day to say this? Well they got busy and forgot...again...seriously? One person couldn't 'mind the store' for the few minutes it would have taken the other one to get to town? I was supposed to get a credit for the delivery fee which didn't happen until I called. Same woman....well yes you have store credit. Not going to use that! I made her credit it back to my credit card because I would never be using their service again. Not dependable. read more

Disaster! Silver Mist hired to design and implement a new landscape plan: remove existing shrubs and areas overgrown with perennials and weeds; install 130 new plants. Scheduled for fall 2015- showed up in December! With snow, couldn't confirm what was installed or whether work was complete. We expressed concern about the time of planting and work completeness - owner became rude and demanded final payment. In spring, determined only 2/3 of required plants were installed, many didn't survive, and some were the wrong plants. More important, pre- existing perennials and weeds were not removed before install. So most new plants were comingled with existing root stock and beds became quickly overgrown. Silver Mist refused to correct faulty work or warrantee plants. "We have been paid - we've moved on" was their response. We filed a legal claim, and received a favorable judgment. We are now digging up plants, separating intermingled roots, and replanting the beds. It's a mess! read more
