The coin department is extremely professional, helpful, and very knowledgeable. We have done several thousand dollars of business with them and have always been very satisified. read more

"I am extremely disappointed with the lack of professionalism at Silver City Stamp & Coin. I called today to inquire about selling a significant collection (over 115 grams of 10k and 14k gold), which is a high-value transaction. Instead of receiving a professional quote or even a basic level of courtesy, the representative was incredibly rude. He told me he 'didn't have time to do this all day' and literally hung up in my face while I was explaining what I had. As a serious seller looking for a wholesale-level buyer in Ocala, I expected a business of this supposed reputation to handle inquiries with transparency and respect. If they are too busy to value a potential $9,000+ deal, they are clearly too busy for my business. I'll be taking my gold to a more professional establishment that actually values its customers." read more

Great place to buy/sell/pawn and get your jewelry repaired or maintained. Friendly people. This is the only place I sell my precious metals and coins when I need a little extra cash. read more

Have been here twice for jewelry repair, and both times they did excellent work, and at affordable prices too. Parker is the employee who helped me and he has great customer service. He listened to my requests and what was needed, and my items turned out wonderfully. I'm so happy I brought my jewelry here, and highly recommend trusting this business with your repairs, because the jeweler does outstanding work, and that's hard to find. Thanks so much for all your help and making my jewelry beautiful again! read more

I had a bracelet repaired at Silver City Jewelry's today. My husband brought it in asked if they could repair it, the guy working looked it over said yes and the cost would be $35.00. The girl behind him took it, looked it over and said the price would be $45.00. They were super quick and had it fixed in 1 day. I went, picked it up and paid $48.15. As I was tucking away my debit card, the girl informed me that the bracelet is all worn out and should only be worn on very special occasions and probably should be retired in my jewelry box. This bracelet is very special to me as it was my moms and she has passed away. I am not willing to wear it even on very special occasions. I do NOT want to lose it. I really feel they should have told me how worn out it is BEFORE they fixed it and charged me 50 bucks. If it isn't really safe to wear, I could have retired it in my jewelry box for free. I have used Silver City a few times. Twice now I have not had good luck with them. I will NOT be using them again. read more

Don't let the name fool you because Silver City is all about the gold jewelry! For the last 30 years this family run business has represented Ocala well. I'm a long time customer and I have never been anything other than thrilled with my purchases. If estate jewelry is more your style you'll find some interesting pieces here. Repairs of all kinds are professionally done timely. That includes stone setting, shortening of items, engraving and much more. I've never noticed stamps but they have a good selection of coins to select from. read more

Silver City Jewelry - Signage-2016 - Jewelry Near Me - Ocala, Florida

They TAKE ADVANTAGE of Senior Citizens, and are DISHONEST WOW, just WOW I am a 38 yo medical Professional who is too busy to take an old ring there myself. So I asked my mother to do it, she is almost 68 years old. The repair was very expensive...well, it is jewelry, it is not a necessity, so that is not my issue. My issue is when I got the ring back, my Mother didn't notice they had SHAVED the side of the ring, adding lines, to an area that was smooth...worse yet, when my Mother went back with a before and after Picture...THEY OUT RIGHT LIED, and said they didn't do anything. I am looking for an even-clearer pic, and then I am going to spend whatever I have to, to retain a Lawyer and make them pay. Another Jeweler tells us that it looks like they damaged the ring in a (vice) then did the alteration to cover their mistake) To add insult to injury they told my Mother, "it was just dirty, you didn't want us to give you a dirty ring back did you"? unbelievable. DON'T try to save Monies at this HACK SHOP, go to a real Jeweler somewhere in town...DON'T SUPPORT A BUSINESS THAT RIPS OFF SENIORS AND YOUNG PROFESSIONALS... Shame on you Silver City. read more

Shady Shady Shady ! Watch out ! They will tell you a repair will be one price and then when you pick it up will jack the amount up to two or three times the quote !! And you have no option but to leave your jewelry there or pay what they say so of course you are cornered into being forced to pay the outrageous bill. Other places were willing to do same repair for much less then they charged and next time trust me I will be taking all my business to those other places! To add insult to injury when the jeweler was asked why it was so much he lied to cover himself and said that he had to "add" metal/silver rings to the piece. Does he think just because we are not working there that we are blind or stupid?? It was easy to see it was not true & an obvious made up excuse. Imagine the other aspects of their operation (buying/selling gold/coins) they could be dishonest in !! If you like to be dealt with honestly do not deal here. read more

All around BAD... Buyer Beware! This place makes their money by ripping people off. They will take advantage of your lack of knowledge and the less you know the more they will rip you off! I've worked at places like this, it's really horrible. I could never do that to people! Customer service is horrible, the main "show room" guy, (I think he's just an employee) Larry, is a personality-less bordering on rude and abrasive. Definitely has no good customer service skills whatsoever. I purchased an expensive 1 oz gold coin and my mistake was not looking at it until I got home. I was a fool for thinking they would be honest. I should have known better! The coin was all scratched up. Sure, it's still an ounce of gold but when it comes to resale a scratched coin can lose you up to $100 or more. THEY KNOW THAT!! They NEVER said, "hey, most of our gold coins are used and scratched do you still want to buy ?" Instead, they charged me top dollar high premium price, more than you would pay for a brand new one from one of the big guys like Apmex or Bullion Ex. and then gave me a damaged, used scratched coin. I could have spent $75 LESS with Apmex (free shipping too) and gotten a pristine unscratched one. This is the game they run at Silver City... I paid a high premium price for a low end damaged product. They take advantage of you in any way they can, that's how they make their money. Like I said, I've worked at a few similar places, I KNOW what they do. Shame on me for letting them take advantage of me when I should have know better. So if you don't want to get ripped off or taken advantage of, spend your money elsewhere. This place, as you can see by it's low star rating, is NOT going to get you the best bang for your buck. read more

FANTASTIC service. Very upscale presentation of the jewelry they sell. Give great prices for things you want to sell. I would recommend this family owned business to everyone. TOTALLY the best place to buy and sell coins and jewelry- fantastic experience, very nice staff. A woman in parking lot was leaving as I pulled in for the first time. She took the time to roll her window down and tell me how she drives from Gainesville to frequent Silver City. I understand why...she is right. Worth checking them out. read more

Attention to whome it may concern, I just left silver city in need of an apprasial and ive never encountered a salesman so offputting, obnoxious and rude. He lacked any kinda customer service skills, he did not care to let me speak, he cut me off while I was speaking, and I immiediently spoke to another jeweler that said he spoke to many people who said those same words. I just wanted to bring attention that silver city was very untrust worthy, so beware next time you go to silver city in Ocala silver springs read more

I was in for the first time, and the owner turned me off right away. The jewelry is priced at high retail, while similar pieces can be found in Pawn Shops around Ocala for far better prices. Gold coins are offered but they too are priced at higher prices than the local competition. I will not darken their door again. read more
