I recently flew four flights on Silver Airways between Greenville and Orlando and was treated very well by all their employees. The airplane was clean, flights on time, service reliable, and my checked baggage arrived without incident. Folks might be advised that Silver boards from the airport tarmac and passengers need to ascend a narrow staircase to board . Not a problem for me but if you are differently abled I'm not sure. Also, departing from Orlando on a Sunday can be tricky as the TSA lines were LONG so extra time should be allotted. If you have TSA Pre Check that line was quite short and moved quickly. The pilots waited a bit for some passengers who were stuck in that TSA line so technically we were late departing but they seem to have made up the time in the air because we arrived as scheduled. I thought waiting displayed decency on their part. This airline flies at a lower altitude so one can almost always see the ground. All in all I was very satisfied and would fly Silver again. read more

Fly at Your Own Risk - A Miserable, Unsafe Experience with Silver Airways After multiple bad experiences, today's flight with Silver Airways confirmed that this airline is a disaster from start to finish. Once again, the flight was delayed over an hour not even updated at the gates. I only knew because I received an email. But when it finally boarded, passengers were rushed through in a panic--staff actually threatened to close the boarding door while three people were still trying to get through check-in. The urgency made no sense, considering we were then made to stand on the tarmac for 10 minutes waiting to board a plane that clearly wasn't ready. But the worst part came after we boarded. The cabin was sweltering hot, with barely any airflow--no AC, no circulation. The overwhelming stench of jet fuel filled the cabin to the point that it was hard to breathe. This wasn't a one-time fluke either--you could literally see a film of jet fuel residue on the windows, this is a regular occurrence, I experienced it on the flight this morning and on my last three flights with this airline. It felt suffocating, and frankly, dangerous. To top it off, the flight itself was rough and unnerving, with abrupt, extreme turns that did not inspire confidence in the pilot or the aircraft. Nothing about the crew, the condition of the plane, or the experience overall gave me any reassurance that safety was a priority. Unfortunately, they're the only airline currently that flies direct from my home city to the locations I travel frequently for work, this is the only reason I have flown this airline but as of today, it's not worth it. I would rather detour to a major airline hub hundreds of miles away and add hours to my trip, for my safety and well-being. Silver Airways is unreliable, uncomfortable, and borderline unsafe. Silver Airways ......what a TERRIBLE way to treat customers during the holidays!!! This morning my boyfriend had a flight from Orlando MCO to Pensacola that departed at 7am. Obviously with it being the holidays, security and check In was a little nuts. He had gotten there the recommended 2 hours early, and was traveling lean, but he and 4 others on his flight still weren't able to make it to the gate at boarding time. The female attendant on duty WOULD NOT let them on the plane because they didn't show up to the gate 15 minutes before take off (7am). The four of them literally watched the plane sit at the gate for 20 more minutes (plenty of time to board 4 single passengers) before it detached from the tarmac and left the gate. What's even more horrific, is that the man who was kind enough to be the voice of the group and try to get them on the plane, pleaded his case to the attendant and was penalized for it. He pleaded that they had all got to the airport on time, but because it's the holidays security was nuts, and that even though they were late for boarding the plane was sitting right there! He told her that he had a connecting flight at noon and was trying to get home to his family!! She did not give one crap. As a matter of fact, she didn't like that he challenged her..... so she told him there were no more available flights that day. Then when my boyfriend asked 5 min later, she gave him two seating options on a flight that took off at 5:20pm that day ...... The attendant is clearly the type of person that enjoys exercising the smallest amount of authority she's been given. So sad. So disappointing. You would think an Airline would have policies or training that would protect their customers from unnecessary treatment like what these folks experienced. She made 4 people miss that flight that did not need to. What's worse is she lied to a paying customer and basically is costing him the holidays with his family. We've all been passengers waiting for the late guy before. We've all sat waiting to depart as they call people over the intercom. I've seen them literally hold planes for a single late passenger pushing through security before! These people were at the gate with time to spare and were refused to board!!! I never expected much from you Silver Airlines, but common courtesy during the holidays was something I didn't think I needed to specifically request. read more

Save yourself the disappointment and never use this airline. The planes are consistently late and customer service by phone is ridiculous! Common waiting time to talk to a human is 45 minutes. The only glimmer of a normal airline is the friendly flight attendants. read more

10/6/2018 flight from Tampa to Pensacola. After making my reservation I read some reviews with complaints. I had a great flight, all the employees were attentive, the plane was older but clean. We arrived in Pensacola about 40 minutes early, our luggage was waiting for us in baggage claim. Scariest flight of my life. As soon as I walked on the plane I instantly regretted it. The seats are so uncomfortable, air hardly works, and the noises the plane makes is terrifying. It looked/felt like the plane off of the Madagascar movie. Do not recommend, but if you do, say a prayer every 10 minutes...you will need it. read more

If I could give this airline a -5 I would. I love to travel. I was scheduled by a travel agent as a connecting flight to Bimini from Fort Lauderdale. They rescheduled my family and I about 4 times before they finally canceled the flight. I understood that happening for bad weather but they were so nasty about it. No help at all with a large family of 8 or anyone else. The man at the counter said we could stay overnight in the airport . Even if I was entertaining that idea, it was a lie. They didn't automatically reschedule there was a first come first serve like buffet style which was crazy. No hotel recommendations or anything. The manager was so sarcastic and arrogant. She said it was our problem if we were stranded, it happens and referred everyone to a non working number for customer service. The crowd became frustrated and she yelled at us. When they yelled back she called the police. Due to there constant cancelations a three hour trip became a 36hour trip. The worst customer service ever it was like a bad episode of Soul Plane. When we got on the plane , the staff was very nice but I feared for my life when landing. By the way they cancelled for bad weather and it was the only airline that canceled, go figure. read more

I booked with Silver Airways because of the low prices. I though, what a steal! Then I found some of the reviews online about the customer service, the delays, the quality of the ride, and promptly lost my shit. Let the freaking out begin! After all, this is my only vacation for the year, so if it goes awry then I'm out of luck because I don't have the ability to just take more time off and try again. Moving on... checking in online was a breeze. When we arrived at the airport, we checked our bag with a gentleman, who double checked that we were checked in, then he told us where to go. Seems pretty smooth and normal so far. Get to our gate, mind you, we're about two hours early to our flight because we wanted to be prepared for changes in the flight. However, nothing crazy happened--no changes in time, no delays, nothing. In fact, the previous flight was early so we were exactly on time with boarding. During boarding is when things got a little hazy. We were all in a line and it seemed a lot of peoples printed boarding passes wouldn't connect and scan, therefore there was a hold up, and the staff clearly didn't know what was going on. But eventually it was figured out and we were still able to leave on time. The plane is small you guys. Small. Plan on putting everything either checked or in the bin because you can't just hang on to it. And the seats are cramped and not comfortable. Hopefully this will change with a few updates. Also, the plane is much louder than normal airplanes. Throughout the flight I found myself not noticing the noise as much, but for flyers with little ones, you might want to prepare for this. I had a headache afterwards, definitely. My other downside was the flight attendant servicing this flight. He couldn't remember his pilot and first mate's names, couldn't remember the flight number, couldn't talk without continuously messing up his instructions. And you could tell he didn't care if the people in the back heard the instructions or not. Customer service is key, Silver Airways, and you need to work on it. But the flight was fine, on time, not rough, and got us where we needed to go. read more

I would rather crawl on my hands and knees than fly this airline. Gate agent, with 36 minutes until departure, told me that I could not use the restroom before boarding, or the gate would be closed when I returned. So I boarded, only to sit on the tarmac for 20 minutes, with no air, and once again couldn't use the onboard restroom. I am seriously considering driving from now on. read more

Rent a car! Walk!! Do whatever it takes to NOT use this airline. About a month after we reserved our airline tickets, they cancelled our afternoon flight & tried to move us to a 6AM flight. We are traveling with a 3 year & didn't want to wake at 3AM to drive an hour to the airport for the rescheduled flight. We had to contact them to determine a different option. They moved us to the prior day - leaving us no option but to shorten our time with family by a full day. The prior day flight was cheaper, but they wouldn't give us the credit - even when I talked with them. On the date of our travel, the first flight was pushed back a bit & the second flight (we had to stop for a layover) was pushed back over an hour. The airplane was HOT. The bathroom not large enough to stand in (& I'm 5'6"). Staff had no clue. No food or snack. DON'T SPEND THE SAME AMOUNT FOR THIS FLIGHT AS YOU WOULD OTHERS. THE BOWELS OF HELL HAVE GOT TO BE BETTER! If you want to be pissed off, uncomfortable, hot, delayed, and sit on the tarmac on the runway for 20 minutes when it's not busy in a hot plane, THIS is the airline for you!!!!! I will NEVER EVER IN THIS LIFETIME use this airline again!!!! On the flight up, I asked to pre-board and asked that they have a wheelchair waiting at the other airport. I get an eyeroll from the gate agent. Myself and another person needed chairs. Pensacola has a small airport, so, I'm thinking short walk down a jet bridge and to the plane! OH NO! No jetbridge, woven around on the tarmac past a plane blasting hot air to our plane, I'm dying at this point and feeling as if I've walked halfway through DFW instead of here. Finally get to the plane and am pointedly asked by the flight attendant if I need a lift to get me up into the plane. I'm thinking, "bitch, didn't you see me coming 5 miles back on the tarmac with a cane and a very bad limp????" I said no, I can get up a few stairs. She sarcastically says, "are you SURE? We can get you a lift, but, you'll have to wait." Now I do speak....."it's hot as hell, you've watched me struggle and YOU'RE getting an attitude??? Move the heck out of my way!" I was ready to knock her ignorant butt out! Painful climb into a HOT airless plane. Arrive in Tampa, 2 chairs waiting, ANOTHER person who was moving fine, takes mine, I say something and the winged monster says, "we'll get another." So I wait while a ground crew member argues with her about getting the 3rd chair when only 2 were ordered. Then she says, "well another lady took hers that DIDN'T order one." I'm standing there looking at her like REALLY????? You could have said something! I was stuck in the plane watching all of this!!! 10 minutes later, the ground crew member, NOT A SKYCAP, shows up, wheels me into the airport, LEAVES ME THERE, and says a skycap will be coming. 20 minutes later, no skycap. I HATE THIS AIRLINE!!!!!!! They got one star because I'm alive! I had to rate them. read more

FIRE SUPERVISOR PATRICIA GIFFORD! She is clearly not qualified for this position, and it is very bad when other employees inform customers of her incompetence. It is really bad when you're excuse is that "you have only been here a couple months" and a baggage boy is having to do all your work. Hope you enjoyed your vending machine meal and sitting in your office while other employees actually tried to help people. Silver as an airline should actually be removed from the face of the earth anyway, because employees like Patricia are actually at every Silver section in numerous airports. This airline is full of unqualified individuals that cannot even perform the task of re-booking flights for passengers. Unfortunately, their flights get cancelled WAY TOO MUCH. These planes have too many problems to operate. They might as well put weight limits on their passengers as well as their luggage, instead of just charging extra for a heavy bag. What is the point of making people pay extra if the plane cannot fly anyway, because it is too heavy? Makes zero sense to me. Furthermore, this airline does not take responsibility for any of their mistakes nor compensate for any inconveniences. My flight was cancelled at 6pm one night, and they guaranteed a flight for me at 8am, which was a whole separate plane that the one flying out at 8:22am. However, when both planes were at the gate, the attendant began boarding the 8:22am flight, and not the 8am flight. We were all confused, but what made matters worse is that we continued to wait as yet another flight boarded and left the gate for Silver. It is now 12pm and we were not getting any answers. If anything, then we should have been put on the 8:22am flight or even the flight after that, making the passengers on those flights wait for the next plane. I decided to get my bags and drive back to my destination. Silver would not compensate me for my inconvenience and would not even help me get a rental car. They could not inform me when another flight would be available, so I ended up driving myself back to Orlando. On my drive, I found out that the flight finally left at 2:45pm and arrived in Orlando at 5:30pm. This is nearly 24 hours after my scheduled flight. IN CONCLUSION, THIS AIRLINE IS UNRELIABLE, IRRESPONSIBLE, AND FULL OF UNQUALIFIED PERSONNEL. EVEN IF YOU HAVE FLOWN WITH SILVER AND NOT HAD A PROBLEM, I CAN GUARANTEE THAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE A SIMILAR SCENARIO IF YOU CONTINUE TO FLY WITH THEM. I've honestly never complained about any company for others to read about, but I hit my breaking point with Silver. read more
