Popped in for lunch while on holiday. 3 adults & 1 child. The child is Autistic and has ARFID, which means he has a very restricted diet. We always take his own food with him when we eat out. We order and the waitress says its fine for him to eat his packed lunch.
2 minutes later a man, who we assume was the manager, comes out to say he can't eat his own food. We explain his disability but he doesn't care. He tells us it's illegal for him to eat his own food - it's not (it is not illegal but the restaurant is there to sell its own food so can refuse you permission to consume your own food on the premises).
We ended up cancelling our order and leaving the almost empty restaurant. We paid £10 for drinks, which we didn't drink, and our food order would have come to around £70 ( more if we'd had puddings) and he refused to see that he was refusing to make an adaptation, for someone with a disability (my grandson is registered as disabled) and just kept telling us it was against the law.
This man was not just ignorant about invisible disabilities but came out aggressive and rude. I would avoid this place, like the plague, if you need any adaptations for special needs or support and care about those who have them read more
