Had a lunch here. You can choose between a soup and spring roles for a starter and get a main course then. Spring roles were very tasty. Main dish was Thai chicken curry that was very very good. Just finished an absolutely lovely meal at Sila Thai. We had a prix fix for 2 people which offered an abundance of food. Each course was the perfect blend of mild to spicy. We chose this menu so we would try things we might not ordinarily. Good move! The atmosphere is quiet and peaceful considering the place was completely full. Every detail of the space was beautiful including flowers in the restroom. Must book in advance. The staff could not have been nicer. read more

The place looks quite nice and the stuff is friendly. Wanted to come here with my wife for 5 years and we finally made it! However all in all after having spent like 80 euros for two I was rather underwhelmed... The food although not bad was also not great. Good Thai restaurant - the restaurant is highly decorated and definitely feel like you came to eat at a Thai restaurant :-) The food is nice - they would bring a table burner for Sarah which seems to be quite entertaining for some. I personally found the flame filled with chemical taste and toasting satay on the table end up infusing the meat with chemical smell which is not pleasant but I suppose some people don't care, All the dishes are quite large in portions and very tasty - I had stir fried duck with red curry sauce which was lovely. They brought red wild rice option along with normal white rice which was a nice touch. They have classic candied fruits with vanilla ice cream which can be quite nice (although heavy) ending to a nice meal. Will definitely recommend it. read more

I have tried the tom yum gong, duck bangkok style and stir fried noddle springroll, And the duck was too dry (seemed made the day before), and the springroll and the soup were too oily, i think the price is too high for the quality of the food, but afterall, the ambient is cool and the food not so bad. read more

Absolutely overwhelmingly beautiful decorated restaurant which makes you feel like you've just stepped into Thailand (probably - I haven't been to Thailand yet). The quality of the food is excellent, I have seldom eaten such tender chicken with such delicious spices. The food is sometimes served in oriental ways - with a palm leaf as bedding or an entire pineapple as a cocktail "glass". Of course this combination of atmosphere, quality and service has a proud price - two people will likely leave with a 40-60EUR bill. read more

Been there 3 times last time i was in Dusseldorf, tried many courses and all of them were very good. I was a bit disappointed by the crispy duck and i found exceptional the prawns both in the appetizers and in the main plates (the friend prawn balls and the prawn on coconut sauce are wonderful). Service is fast, interior nice and warm with both a standard area and a "tatami" one (don't know the exact term) where you need to remove your shoes. Price is a bit on the high side, around 40€ for a standard 2 plates + drink, more than 70 if you want to go for the tasting menu (which looks very interesting anyway). I'd suggest to reserve a table because it gets full every day of the week being quite well known. read more

seems to be a very popular Thai restaurant in the area. Went there on a Monday night and had to wait for a table. Reservations are strongly suggested. Service and food were good and portions generous enough to share. We requested our food medium spicy and it was just perfect, authentic Thai flavors. This very nice and stylish restaurant in the center of Dusseldorf is a really high class Thai restaurant. The waiters are very supportive and if you are lucky, you can get one of the thai seats/ tables. Please make a reservation early enough, otherwise you wont get a table. The food have a high quality and the menue have varieties of different taste's. It is on the pricier side, but the interior is as if you were sitting in and having dinner in Thailand- it's so grand! The food is definitely the best Thai in Dusseldorf- it's so flavorful, hearty, and delicious. We had an excellent dinner here with fabulous service. We didn't make a reservation and arrived late so they asked us if we wanted to sit at the Thai table. They brought hot towels with citrus to clean up. The appetizers, cocktails and entrees were to die for. Highly recommend! read more

The worst service and treatment in my life. July 29 was my anniversary ruined by Sila Thai. My wife was served a fish skeleton with no meat on it just bones head and tail. She complained immediately. The waiter laughed at her and insulted her like she at a whole fish in 5 minutes and was trying to cheat them . They gave her a glass wine for a 26€ fish and refused to give her anything else. When we lived in Dusseldorf, we tried this place because we were craving Thai. The food is way overpriced for the portion size, and the food was mediocre at best. Keep looking, there has to be better Thai in the 'dorf. read more

Atmosphere: Quiet, elegant, a bit kitschy -- lots of thai wood carvings. But the atmosphere is good for a date or business dinner. Food: Ok, not great. As with almost all Thai restaurants in Germany, "spicy" or "scharf" means "mild". Asking for "sehr scharf" or "very spicy" increases it a bit, but they're definitely cooking for a blander palate. The food isn't bad, but it's not phenomenal. Price: It's very expensive for the quality -- 20E or so for entrees, and appetizers are similarly pricey. For the quality/quantity, it's very overpriced. Service: Really, really horrible on my one visit. Two of us got ours immediately, the third waited for 20 minutes for her cocktail. Later we ordered a final round of beers, waited ANOTHER 20 minutes (and asked again), and didn't get them. Ten minutes after we asked for the check, we received it -- and were charged for the beers we didn't get. When we explained this, the server argued with us, claimed we were too drunk to remember. After we found the other server who backed up our story, she finally believed us. But she never apologized for the mistake. Save your money and enjoy better food at Luang Prabang! read more

I give this place 4 stars for its amazing, beautiful, authentic, and decadent decor! The ambience of this restaurant cannot be beat - perfect for a romantic night out or to entertain your guests. As for the food, it is more Chinese than it is authentic Thai food, but tasty, none the less. I hear complaints that it's expensive for what the food actually is, but for special occasions or an occasional treat, you won't be disappointed. Food is always amazing!! Authentic, delicious, however portion is rather on small side and overpriced. Staffs are mostly but rather stressed. One of the staffs was really rude, he was really arrogant but last time I went there again, he was luckily not there thus better experience for the evening. The decoration is really nice.
