When it came to exams et al, I was fortunate to have some really smart friends who made some really great notes that synthesized an entire year of boring lectures and size 11 times new roman font (textbooks) into pages filled will pictures, doodles and clear, to the point, notes. In first year, I almost needed to take out soap because of the amount of photocopying I did at York. But Keele Copy Centre is definitely affordable for the student budget. In recent years, I believe that it also sells textbooks and any additional readings that a professor would require you to read. If not, then I found it really helpful to borrow a friends book and stand out side the copy centre and mediate on how I could get access to the same content in the book. If only there was a way to transfer the information in that book onto a medium that would then be your own. If only you could find a way to return your friends book but retain the information...besides reading. if only! I never found a way but I've heard that people who mediate with the desired book outside the keele copy centre have reached enlightenment and found a way ;-D

This is the same company that charges exorbitant brokerage fees for shipments from US even when item is duty free. Yet I never asked them to act as my broker.
