I brought my Sony DAV-HDX665 DVD Home Theatre System to Joseph at Sigma Electronic Services, as a recent power outage in my home had caused the unit to become completely inoperable. The unit would successfully turn on, but the main display screen would constantly flash the same "PUSH POWER PROTECTOR" message over and over, and I could no longer navigate between the home theatre, DVD, and CD modes on the unit. To make matters worse, my regular repair shop told me that attempting to fix such an issue for a 2007 DVD system in 2024 would be prohibitively expensive, and that there was nothing they could do. This was my first visit to Sigma Electronics, and I will definitely be a repeat customer. Unlike the other repair services I spoke to, Joseph was able to correctly diagnose and fix the problem in less than one week, all while being backlogged with an epic number of pre-existing orders. His price for such a fix was great too, much less than buying a new unit. (And since my home theatre system is for a 1994 Panasonic CRT TV, I can't even use a modern sound system for such a setup, even if I wanted to.) I have taken a few vintage stereo's in for repairs and will continue. The work has brought my collection, not just back to spec, but better than original spec. So far I had a 1964 Grundig recapped, a 1973 Sony STR 7065 repaired (had hiss on one channel) , a Technics SA600 repaired (video of repair is actually on Sigma's Site!) and my favorite unit, a 1970 Pioneer SX2500 recapped. I have a g9000 sansui amp I bought new from Disco sound in the 70's lol.
