I was very happy with Dr. Avni, however, they have a major problem with their record keeping service. I received invoices for 2 copayments I made. I emailed them with information and called them twice and left voicemails and they never called me back. I even called the E. Patchogue office for help, to no avail. I've been going to SightMD for Dr. Marcus for a few months and it's been great. Dr. Marcus is a great doctor who takes the time to explain my issues and always answers my questions simply and clearly. But this review isn't about how much I appreciate Dr. Marcus and Megan (who helps me with my complicated insurance issues). This review is about the office staff. They've got a few locations around Suffolk and I went to this location yesterday. I had to also bring my 2 year old son with me, so I was nervous about how things would go. He ended up being well behaved but a big part of that goes to the help I got from the receptionists, technicians and office staff. They were friendly and chatted with him with every interaction (many people simply ignore kids). They also let me walk him around the lobby while I waited to be seen. That helped keep him interested the whole time and he even enjoyed himself! Though, maybe it's because I have him one of their lollipops at the end of the visit. read more

I came today to bring my grandmother here for a 10:40 appointment. The wait ended up being an hour long meaning she didn't get called until 11:45. The receptions has a stuck up attitude! I understand it's Christmas Eve and she doesn't want to be here but that's no way to be! They stood around for about 15 minutes, 3 of them talking about nothing that had to do with business at the moment.. I highly suggest going some where else. Dr McGuiness had me wait for several months for an appointment. Three days before my second appointment I was told he was retiring and would be unavailable for the surgery. I am appalled that he could show such callousness toward his patients. No conscience, no empathy. read more

I hate this place, it's run like a factory. The technicians don't seem to understand or have empathy for their patients who for the most part are elderly, many with disabilities. They need to learn to assist them and speak up. Also, stop over booking!! A little kindness would go a long way! read more

Dr Marcus is amazing and his staff is so friendly and helpful. They run the office so well, very organized. I receive injections for macula degeneration and they make sure you are as comfortable as possible. Ryan is just one of the associates that work with dr Marcus and he is so nice. They all seem to get along very well with each other and I believe that is why the office is run so smoothly. I highly recommend dr Marcus and his staff! read more

The actual practice is horrible. The only reason I gave it 2 stars and not one is the practice is bad not the doctors. I had a procedure scheduled and the pharmacist could not fill the prescription because it was unclear exactly what the doctor was prescribing. I finally got in touch with the call center and explained my problem. They put me through to the office and no one picked up the phone. The call center said they would try to get through. They advised me the phones were down. I left a message to no avail. In short I had to cancel the procedure because I could not get the medicine. They never even called to see why I cancelled. They charged me for a missed appointment which they did rectify. After my procedure I had a follow-up appointment. I explained to them the follow-up appointment was included in the originally price. They rectified this. I received another charge which was incorrect. All the extra charges were errors. I am sure many people pay these charges. The front desk is NOT friendly, you get the impression you are bothering them. I have been going to my doctor for many years and he joined this practice. A very big mistake. read more

I brought my wife to SightMD this morning for a followup appointment at the East Patchogue office, we've been going there for years before SightMD took over Brookhaven Eye surgery. The wait times are ridiculous now 2-3 hours. The waiting room is OVERCROWDED, STANDING ROOM ONLY. Patients are also waiting in the hallway outside the office. This is not an isolated incident this same scenario has happened before.The staff was bringing office chairs from the various exam rooms so people could sit. Talk about overbooking, this needs to be remedied. It is also a FIRE HAZARD, many senior citizens with walkers, canes etc. God forbid there is an emergency. We are very happy with our doctor Dr. Edward Marcus, but if this is not corrected I fear we will have to find other eye care. read more
