Polite personnel. They check weight and blood pressure every day. There is physical therapy five days a weeks. Very helpful and accommodating. There is occupational therapy six days a week. Also very knowledgeable and motivating. Meals are what you would expect at a hospital, fairly bland, had sandwiches about 6 times in 16 days. Very fresh white bread. A person from the kitchen came in to ascertain what I like/can eat. Also any foods that I don't care for. There is a laundry service. All personal clothing to be laundered by them was labeled by them. Still not sure what their schedule was. Environment was very friendly, clean, accommodating. The only difficulty that I experienced was often the 40 to 90 minute delay in getting pain medication. Regular prescriptive meds came fairly regularly. Seemed like there were quite a few new or training personnel. Very polite. Always asked what you needed with a great deal of respect for the patient. An inventory of personnel items taken and then checked on discharge. Felt very safe. No thought of something being taken. I had my iPad, iWatch, iPhone and earpods left in my room when I went to therapy. No problems. There are regular phones available. A social worker from the office checked in every few days to see how things were going or to ask how she could help. Not a new facility, however well taken care of. Every room seemed to have large curtain windows most with windows that opened. There were activities scheduled during the week, such as bingo, movie groups could enjoy. I definitely am glad I was there for help with my total hip replacement. read more

First off, I need to be clear that I don't want this rehab to be closed. I feel it is one of the better facilities in the area with many talented, caring people who do a great job. But, unfortunately, the few bad apples persist. I was a resident from 0ct. 8 through Oct. 21, 2023. During that time, I witnessed several issues going on at the Siena Care Home. This was the worst: 0ct. 9, 2023, 3:15 am...I rang the buzzer on my bed to request that I be given an Oxycodone, 325 mg. I began to prepare to get out of bed to go to the restroom. As I was getting up, Nurse 1 was coming into my and my roommate's (RM's) room. She went directly to my RM's side of the room. She asked what my RM needed. RM asked her for a blanket and she got it for her. By then I was in the restroom. A few minutes later, I came out and Nurse 1 was still in the room but then left quickly. I proceeded to get back into bed to wait for the Oxycodone so I could sleep again. My RM immediately went to sleep. Nurse 1 then stormed back into the room and yelled, "Why did you let me give your RM an Oxy?" I responded, "What are you talking about? I'm just waiting for my pill." She once again said, "Why did you let me give your RM your pill?" I yelled, "You gave my RM an Oxy?" She continued to blame me for the error. I asked her to leave. When she finally brought me the Oxycodone, she also offered me a second pill. I told her no. She also brought my morning pills so that she wouldn't have to face me in the morning. I told her that she had better be in our room every 15 minutes to check my RM's vitals. She told me I could not tell her how to do her job. I was very upset so I called the administration office and left a message. I then got into my wheelchair and went to the front desk to ask for Nurse 1's name. She would not give it to me. Another nurse finally told me. Nurse 1 yelled at Nurse 2 and asked her why she did that? And said she always butts into her business. I asked to speak to the supervisor. Nurse 2 said she would send her to my room. The supervisor came to my room. She told me that Nurse 1 had not given RM my Oxy, that she had been given her regular pain pill and that I should just relax. I told her I was worried about RM's welfare and would not "relax." I then sat in a chair, listening to my new friend breathe because no one even once came in to check on her. No one checked on her again all that night! I spoke with RM when she woke up that next morning. She seemed alert and ok. She told another nurse and me that she occasionally takes a painkiller in the evening to help her sleep but she had not requested a pill that evening but was given one anyway...the one that was meant for me!! So wrong! She took it because she thought it might give her a good night's sleep. And then both the supervisor and Nurse 1 tried to cover it up. Siena Care Home in Auburn needs to tighten up their medication system before someone is tragically overmedicated! Please make sure the medications of your loved ones are distributed correctly!! There also is very little security there. There are signs saying doors are to kept closed for the safety of patients but reality is that the doors are propped open without an employee in sight. This skilled nursing home is horrible. They are slow to respond to the needs of the residents in their care. Residents may be left in bed despite repeatedly pushing their call buttons, left in the dining hall for an extended length of time after meals, or ignored when placing a call for help. Lastly the facility is dirty, poor quality beds, and Dr. is no where to be found. Oh let's not forget the violation of HIPPA. read more

I have been here more at least 2 weeks recovering from a broken ankle I had my surgery and returned here I'm here to heal and get physical therapy so I can return home all the staff are very nice I just feel they could have put more of an effort into my pain management they make you wait way passed your pain dosage time while you are suffering in pain once I was told they didn't have my pain medication because the pharmacy didn't deliver it then I had to wait four hours longer to receive that you ring for help they take forever to respond the nurses aids care more then the nurses it's very discouraging their physical therapy staff are awesome I was just disappointed in the medical staff when you are stuck in bed in pain and dependent on them to help you you feel helpless not all the nurses are like this there are several good ones I'm far younger than most of the patients I feel terrible for them and what they must go through read more

Very caring, nice staff. But everything takes so long! Maybe it's just the way it is in skilled nursing. But even buzzing for the toilet can take an hour. Mom buzzed for something she deemed important at the time . By the time they came two hours later she had forgotten (probably about checking her blood sugar). Takes days to get going on meds - and it doesn't seem important that key meds are being missed while the process percolates. Maybe nowhere else is better. But it's a sad state of affairs that skilled nursing care is less skilled than just family nursing. :( I know these folks are overworked. And be sure to have an advocate who will follow up on stuff. They tell you whatever you want to hear - whether it's true or not. read more

The patient care in this facility was excellent! The quality of their caregivers were incomparable! Absolutely everyone in that place are top-notch people. Some people complained about the food. I found it thoughtful and nourishing. Can't say enough about how good this place is. read more

I spent two weeks at this facility following a total hip replacement surgery. The most important thing I have to say is that the staff was outstanding! During the first few days of my stay, they were in almost constant attendance, making sure that my needs were met, and that I was comfortable. The nurses delivered my meds on time and efficiently took my vital signs, so I was always assured that I was under good care. The physical therapy team also helped my recovery to progress apace. Daily exercise periods assured that muscles and other tissues affected by the surgery continued to improve during my stay. read more

In October 2017 I broke my right femur and spent two weeks in November 2017 at this facility as an inpatient recovering from surgery. When I was released in December of that year, I continued as an outpatient at Siena's Physical Therapy Center. Recently, I went back for a "tuneup" to correct a limp that was still plaguing me and for the next 6 weeks, their Physical Therapy staff worked with me 3 days each week. While I still have a slight limp, it is much much better than before I came back for Therapy. And they've given me exercises to do at home to continue my recovery. If you are looking for a rehabilitation center that has people who CARE about their patients, AND have the knowledge and skills to make a real difference in your recovery, I highly recommend Siena. I stayed one night in a nightmare facility in Roseville. I found this place on Yelp and my wife did a tour. She said it was night and day over the other place. She was right. I stayed at Siena for 2 weeks after extensive knee surgery. First, the staff were well organized and trained. They completely mapped out my needs on the first day. Siena was quiet enough for me to get good sleep. The main reason I was here was physical and occupational therapy. They delivered the best, so I could return home as quickly as possible. I will come here again when needed and I have already recommended this facility to my friends. read more

My husband was sent here for a week to get pulmonary rehab. He got none. He was given OT and PT but for only 5 of the seven days he was there. My husband liked the OT David gave him but the PT was lacking. He was pleased with the meals and how the kitchen staff worked with him. The nurses were kind and easy to work with. Wonderful rehab facility. My mom stayed at Siena for 10 days due to a hairline fracture. From the start, the staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and my mom felt safe and cared for. The experience was so positive that my mom didn't mind being away from home while she recovered from her injury. read more

This place is a joke the lady Chelsea is a Complete bitch !!! And the service here is on acceptable and Chelsea is very rude and short I Just don't understand why people have this profession and they want they insist on treating people so rudely they need to get educated with some good customer service and bedside manner is unbelievable I do not recommend this place anybody.I have never been so true treated so badly in a place where my sister is getting care from this lady needs to be removed or educated to give good customer service. read more

my father was admitted at Siena last year . I am very please with the outcome when my father left the facility. They took good care of him and gave 110% of quality care. I did not expect him to be home. He was so combative when he was at Siena and the staff worked so hard to take care of him. My stay at Kindred was one of physical recovery for total knee replacement. It turned out to be far greater than that. I left kindred care with a remarkable improvement in strength and range of motion. Your entire PT was involved. Each therapist helping the other to get the most out of me. I worked very hard, in part because the staff created an attitude of success. I did not want to disappoint them and disrespect their support. When unable to go further I was met with gentle reminders about how far I had come Your dietary staff had met with me to understand my preference and also coach me into best choices to lower weight and take pressure off leg. They designed a delivery program that accomodated my work out schedule. Nursing also adapted my med deliveries to my meals and my work out schedule. Amazing CUSTOM CARE. I never rang for Nursing and waited. I never,not once heard no. I had more ice delivered to my room to control swelling than i did meals. And always immediately upon request. I suffer panic attacks that build at about 4am. They were averted for my entire stay by fast responsive care. Nursing often stayed with me to discuss any topic i chose to divert attack. I am sure often bored to death,but not showing it. My room was spotless and the cleaners worked with speed and efficiency. I have had many luxury hotel stays and the goal is invisible service. You win. The overall environment created an attitude within myself to re- examine my life and future. I left Kindred with a clear vision of my future and how i wanted to live. Please accept my appreciation for an absolutely amazing recovery stay. Be assured that I continue to " sing your praises" within the community.
