I wish I could rate this hotel zero stars. I stayed here for only one night and it was one of the worst experiences of my life. There were roaches in the room I stayed in under the desk and the room had a nasty stench of smoke. The toilet had feces stains and the towels they gave me had feces stains as well. When I complained to management about the disgusting room they had the audacity to give me, I was met with a rude entitled woman who did nothing to help my situation. Long story short, take your money elsewhere. It's worth paying a couple extra bucks at a Marriott or Hilton for the customer service and cleanliness. read more

The room was really clean. The bed firm but not too much it bothered my fibromyalgia. I honestly couldn't find a flaw.

We were in town for a bowling tournament in Baton Rouge. We got a 4th floor room - very clean, comfortable, and modern/contemporary design. Free WiFi and breakfast, included serve-yourself cereal/oatmeal, waffles, yogurt, breakfast sandwiches, and fruit. At $92 a night, including tax, I thought this was a great value compared to other hotels I looked at in Baton Rouge. Wish all my hotel stays were at least this nice. Driving distance ~15 minutes from downtown. There's a few chain restaurants in the area, but the only places open late at night close by were Burger King, Taco Bell (thumbs down), and WhataBurger. read more

Worst hotel stay ever No one answers the phone and when they do they are extremely rude Ask for a late checkout and the night desk lay wouldn't leave the side room while she was watching tv just looked over and said you have to talk to someone in the morning. I accidentally discovered this hotel on a previous trip home. They had just opened and everything was new. They are located off of busy Siegen Lane. That was 2 years ago and everything still looks brand new. The staff is super helpful! They really go above and beyond to meet your expectations. They offer Free Wifi and a Continental breakfast. They have a pool, business center and a guest laundry room. There are several restaurants and shopping plazas within walking distance. My only complaint is that there is only 1 elevator that is super slow but it's not worth deducting a star. I always book my reservation online because they offer specials or various things. They offer a special rate if you stay over 3 nights. You don't even have to pre-pay for it which is nice. Actually the pre-pay price is usually more expensive than the 3night special. This place is my first choice when coming to Baton Rouge. I consider it the hidden jewel because I don't think people realize its a great value for what you get. read more

I was just passing through for one night and there were other options with "name brand" hotels for about $30 more (give or take). After reading a review on yelp, I booked it and stayed Friday 7/24/15 and was happy with my choice. Well it's what we could get. I've stayed at more than a couple of hotels since COVID became a thing, but this hotel took it to a whole new level. When you walk into the vestibule you are blocked from going into the lobby area. I didn't see the front desk but spoke to someone through an intercom. I had to hand them all ID and credit card through a box and used a electronic keypad to interact with the guy. While I waited for the staff to find my room and run my card I was able to read the many notifications taped to the walls of the vestibule area. Some examples were as such: If we smell marijuana you will be asked to leave. If we see any cooking device other than the provided microwave it will be confiscated. No loitering. Etc. Etc. this had me wondering if were in a safe neighborhood. But being in the situation of evacuations from Hurricane Laura and not having many options. This was the hotel I got. Hallways were hot and uncomfortable. The smell of stale air hits you as soon as the slower than a snail elevator doors opens. Room was small. Ceilings low. Bathroom smelled like a hospital. Whether that's a good thing or bad thing I haven't decided. Internet was sufficient. Lovely view of a horse though. The kids named him Mr. Poo Poo butt. Long story short it was what it was, but will not be back. Under normal circumstances there are better options. read more

I arrived here on a Thursday for Thanksgiving! Some of the amendities that weren't included was the television and the gym which was the reason why I reserve the room in the first place. First impression: Oh this place is pretty nice! Location is prime, 1 freeway exit away from the Louisiana Mall which has anything you need and of course tons of quality restaurants within a 10 minute drive. Walked in and the front desk woman was very friendly and polite. She explained about the amenities and location of everything. As another reviewer mentioned, the elevator isn't the fastest I've ever used, but it is decent. I prefer the stairs anyway. My room looked clean, felt clean and smelled clean. The thermostat and A/C-heater unit rapidly adjusted the temperature which is important in Baton Rouge's finicky weather. 3 electrical outlets were handy but I always bring a powerstrip so no issues there. The WiFi was very easy to connect to and super fast even if you are on the farthest end of the Inn. There is a continental breakfast every morning and cookies/ice cream available during certain hours daily. The only con deducting 1 star is the shower. The water pressure was very weak and, I will ask them to repair it but, my drain was sort of clogged causing rising water levels. All in all, I highly recommend Siegen Inn. read more

Great hotel! When we arrived and checked in the lady at the front desk was very nice and generous. The room was kind of stuffy when we got in but didn't take long at all to cool down. It was just what we needed. The only downside of this hotel is that for one they do not serve free breakfast in the mornings but thankfully whataburger or IHOP is a walk away, and also the walls are paper thin so unfortunately we could hear the man next to us grunting, nothing a bit of TV volume couldn't fix. Still kind of weird lol. All in all good hotel, and I will definitely stay here again! read more

Me and my family stayed there for one night! I wish I could give it more stars, but they can do a little better on there hotel. Don't get me wrong, the staff were very nice, but if you like low toilets, and ladybugs crawling on the wall, and broken bulb lights by the pool! Well this the place for you. We were on the second floor and the ice machine was broken, they only have a coke machine, no snack venture, no breakfast bar. But I can not lie, the price was very reasonable. My family made reservations, through Travelocity, at Seigen Inn back in July 2021. We arrived today (October 1, 2021) to check in and were told that our reservation had been canceled. The young lady at the front desk, Layla, was unapologetic and unhelpful. She seemed annoyed that we were annoyed. We drove 6 hours and had nowhere to stay. We had a printed out reservation confirmation and proof of the charge to our credit card, but none of that made a difference. She could not say who canceled the reservation, or when it was canceled, or why it was canceled. The manager was unavailable and she would not give us contact info for him. She offered for us to contact him by email. We got in touch with a representative from Travelocity, who spoke with Layla and explained to her that our reservation was paid in full and had not been canceled. None of that made a difference, either. She told us that we could rebook our room, at more than triple the price we had already paid. Of course, we declined to do that, and Travelocity booked us into a suite at the Residence Inn, by Mariott. We got a much nicer room, with no hassle at the front desk. Seigen Inn is actively attempting to rip people off. Additionally, the amenities (pool, etc) at Seigen Inn are all closed, and that info is not disclosed until you arrive. read more

This hotel was pretty good for the price. The rooms were clean and the staff is friendly. Theres an outdoor pool and a nice little fitness room. The only downsides were that the breakfast practically consisted of cereal and toast as the most filling things and the elevator is kind of slow. The location is really nice because it is in the middle of all the popular fast food joints. Also be careful when you enter and exit the parking lot, i messed up the front of my car a bit bc its so steep. read more

Nice and clean, new building. Amenities were great. Only reasons I'm giving 4 stars and not 5 is because the walls were a bit thin and people were yelling in a room above us and we could hear everything they were saying. They do a good job on being Eco friendly but the other reason for only 4 stars is because I hate soft water filters and you could tell they were using one and a slow flow shower head. It took me nearly twice as long to shower because the conditioner didn't feel like it was washing out and there's always a feeling of a film being left on you. Can't stand that. read more

I cancelled my reservation 43 days before my check-in date. I made the reservation with the hotel directly and not through a third party vendor. This hotel disregarded my cancellation and charged me anyway. I contacted the hotel several times requesting a refund. All of my requests were ignored. I feel like I was scammed. read more

If you just need a place to crash and don't care about the room then disregard this. Stayed here for 2 nights and had a dirty towel in our bathroom hanging up still, the doors to the room don't work at all. Had to throw our body into the door and still would not open, elevator is messed up which is super frustrating when you've been traveling and just want to get to your room. Had to go get keys checked about 3-4x during a 2night stay. I highly recommend staying closer into Baton Rouge and paying a little bit more. We were very pleasantly surprised. The hotel was exceptionally clean, had a very friendly staff, and we had a well appointed, spotless room. All of this for a very reasonable price. Must warn you, however. Traffic in Baton Rouge is a nightmare. I asked around and was told that after Katrina hit, Baton Rouge had an influx of over 30,000 people who never left. There has also been extreme growth since then. The infrastructure of the city has not kept pace. read more

I got a great deal on this hotel from Expedia, and for the price, we got more value for the price. Rooms are quiet and clean, there are a lot of restaurants within walking distance from the hotel, and in addition there's free ice cream cups from 5pm-10pm!! Wifi is free. Their complementary breakfast is basic...pancakes, cereal, muffins and toast. In all, I had a nice, quiet relaxing night here and wouldn't mind returning to this inn. read more

We were on a quick visit to Baton Rouge, and just needed a room for the night. Price was right, location was right so we booked our stay on Priceline. And we got there The hotel appears new. Front desk help was very good very welcoming. The bed was one of the most comfortable that we found anywhere recently. This is not a high-end expensive hotel, so we weren't expecting a lot. They exceeded our expectations greatly. I asked at the front desk to borrow a USB charger, and the clerk loaned me one. All in all this is a good place. read more

I made a reservation with a third party booking website. I did not receive a confirmation email so I called to verify that I had a room. I was told by the person who answered the phone that I did not have a reservation there so I had to book at a different hotel last minute on Thanksgiving weekend. The following Monday I noticed that I was charged for the reservation I was told I did not have. After calling the booking website and speaking to Seigen Inn, they will not refund my $300. I spoke with a very rude woman who refused to let me speak to the owner who apparently is the one who made the decision. Do not make a reservation here, especially through a booking site. Ok hotel, but if you don't feel like gambling with your reservation, stay away. Booked multiple stays MONTHS in advance for LSU football games as did my in-laws...(Just for reference, we booked through Expedia and my in-laws booked directly with the hotel.) My in-laws got a call from the hotel Friday night (the day before their reservation) letting them know their card on file had expired and they had given their room away. There was no request for a new card and since they were completely booked, my in-laws had to scramble to find another hotel outside of Baton Rouge. It made even less sense since the card wasn't to be charged until check-in anyway. A few weeks later for our next stay, we called to confirm our reservation and the lady was almost confused why I would call to confirm if I already had the confirmation number. I explained to her my in-laws had previously had issues and I was just double checking, and she assured me we had a room and there was no problem. Luckily, we had no issues at check in. Fast forward another month at our next stay (Nov 5th), we arrived at the hotel at 11:30pm after the LSU game. The front desk had NO record of our reservation. I showed her the confirmation email and she said sorry, but we have no record of you for this stay. Even though I had the confirmation information the HOTEL had provided, she said Expedia never sent the reservation over. She was very frazzled and defensive. Understandable, but she didn't have any other excuse except it was Expedia's fault. She called her manager to come help, who, by the time we left almost an hour later, still wasn't there. 10 minutes after leaving, I called Expedia thinking it was their fault. They immediately called the hotel to confirm what was going on. Sure enough they came back saying there was an issue with our card and Siegen Inn had cancelled our reservation. This all made no sense since we had stayed successfully less than a month before with the same card, and no changes to our card had been made since. Regardless, we NEVER received a call at any point letting us know there was an issue. Of course we could have provided another card right away if that was actually the problem. My only explanation is they overbook for these busy nights and find any excuse to cancel reservations, especially ones that have been booked in advance at lower rates. So, in the end we were left to drive to New Orleans at 1am because Siegen Inn is a total scam. read more

We booked this hotel at the very last minute to stay over night in Baton Rouge while in town to see Elton John. Needless to say, there weren't many options left to choose from, but luckily, Siegen Inn had rooms available. We arrived just after 3:00PM and the woman working the front desk greeted us immediately and was extremely friendly while setting up our keys. We weren't sure what exactly to expect considering some of the reviews left for this place, but we didn't have much else to choose from. My husband and I are very reliant on reviews when deciding where to stay, eat, etc...all of our worries quickly faded upon entering our room. It was modernized, very clean, the thermostat was located on the wall instead of on the unit, and it was nice and cool. The hotel is in a great location, close to many restaurants, lots of shopping including the Mall of Louisiana, and is right off of I-10. We were very impressed with this hotel and plan on staying there again if we make it back out that way. The only issue we had was minimal parking and the entrance and exit are pretty steep, so you have to pull in/out at an angle. Even while checking out, the same woman was working the desk, she asked us about our stay, making sure we had a pleasant experience, and even asked how the concert was. Very sweet woman. My husband and I both would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Baton Rouge. read more

I had a room booked a year in advance at Siegen Inn for last night, October 1st for one night. I called while at the LSU football game to confirm my reservation and to notify staff we would be checking in late. They said ok. I then received a phone call from hotel staff that Expedia had cancelled my room that morning because the card on file would not work. Booking the room a year in advance, I have since gotten a new card when they issued chip cards. This has never been an issue with my previous stays because my new card has been charged at check in. I called Expedia because I was furious that my room was cancelled with no notifications to me. Expedia informed me that they had NOT cancelled my room that the hotel had in fact cancelled my room. Expedia contacted the hotel on my behalf and I was told the manager, Tina was very rude and also informed them that yes the hotel did cancel my reservation. Here we are, 4 hours away from home at 8:30 p.m. finding out our reservation has been cancelled without any notice and there are no hotels available in Baton Rouge or any of the surrounding areas. This has not been the protocol in my past experiences to run my card before check in or all my rooms would have been cancelled. Expedia who was more than willing to help unlike your hotel staff, could only locate a room two hours away in the opposite direction from my home. We were forced to either sleep in the car or drive 4 hours back home. Very distraught, I called the hotel again to speak to Tina and let her know because of her decision to cancel our room with no notification we would have to sleep in our car and she responded cheerfully, "ok, that's fine". I also told her I would be leaving negative reviews for your hotel on Trip Advisor and Yelp to which she responded, "don't forget Google." I have never been treated so poorly by hotel staff and also lied to. She knew they were wrong for canceling my room without notification of any type and lied to place the blame on Expedia. All that had to be done was to make a phone call and ask me for a new card number. The hotel staff was well aware that all rooms in the area would be booked. I can only assume that my reservation was cancelled because I booked it in advance for a cheaper rate and my room was sold under a much higher rate. Be aware of how poorly this was handled and how the manager, Tina speaks to customers. It's a shame that this hotel will continue to make a profit and be booked up due to the flood victims and LSU fans traveling to the area for games. read more

The hotel itself is in a wonderful location and the room was very nice. HOWEVER, I originally booked my hotel stay through BookIt.com and requested a late check out which the hotel confirmed was ok. I received a call from the front desk stating that I would have to check out or be charged an additional days rate. After much banter back and forth, as well as my telling them the hotel stated they granted my request for a late check out, I ultimately was able to check out late. HORRIBLE...HORRIBLE!!! I perused my bank statement to find I had been charged an additional $250.00! When I called the hotel I was told the charge was for smoking in the room. I explained to the lady my husband or I DID NOT SMOKE IN THE ROOM & WE ARE NOT SMOKERS! I was then told that someone verified smoking had occurred. My husband has Pulmonary Sarcoidosis (a chronic lung condition) and he is on portable oxygen. I explained to the manager that it is impossible for anyone to smoke in close proximity to an oxygen tank without an explosion occurring. I don't know what type of verification that took place BUT I can verify by providing medical documentation that my husband was diagnosed with this medical condition over nine years and had been on portable oxygen for the past three years; he has shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, spits up blood tinged sputum, etc. If smoke was around my husband he would have severe health complications! I have filed a complaint w/the Better Business Bureau, and I plan on telling the world about my experience. My husband is disabled, this hotel has truly violated his rights under the American's with Disability Act by putting an erroneous charge on my debit card which has made me incur additional charges of $144.00. Nice room, great location but not worth the $502.00 I have incurred ($108 room, $250 erroneous charge, and $144.00 in overdraft fees). STAY ANYWHERE EXCEPT THIS HOTEL unless you want to be the recipient of additional unwarranted charges. ABSOLUTLEY ABSURD, I WOULD NOT EVEN RECCOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO SOMEONE I DO NOT LIKE! Lastly, I have asthma and am one three medications: Albuterol, Singular, and Advair. This too I can provide medical documentation. Neither of our health/medical conditions would allow us to entertain the thought of smoking today, yesterday, or on June 30th when we checked in to this hotel. read more
