Activities: there's a kids area with a small kids train (I also saw adults hop on), a paintball area, 2 huge bounce areas, a corn pot, apple orchard, a small pond. and so much more! Food/Drink: fun selection of quick, fall free foods like shredded chicken or pulled pork sandwiches. You can purchase a cup of hot apple cider or a gallon of it. There are also pumpkin donuts - which I really wanted, but they were sold out when I arrived. Definitely recommend stopping by for some family/friend/solo fun!

For best apple picking results please go to the company's web site as they keep track of when the apples will be in prime picking. This farm has a good selection of apple to pick from. We stopped in the market to grab some pumpkin donuts and fresh squeezed apple cider. The donuts are fresh and delicious, on the lighter pumpkin flavor side but not in your face. The cider was cold and refreshing, not overly sweet. You can pay for a day pass for the kids. This place has a lot of fun activities for kids, playground, bikes, tractor ride, zip line, ext... This is a great small German town Oktoberfest! First off, beer comes in HALF GALLON MILK JUGS! Yes,…read moreI said it. They know how to drink their beer here. Normally there's TV's and a big screen saver u to watch the football games too if you're into that (it's a big Ohio State and Notre Dame fan area). There are 2 long food tents with your normal Oktoberfest faire, and some normal festival food if German style is not your thing. Fyi, they tend to run out of sauerkraut balls pretty early because they're delicious. There's a large artisan area that takes up 2 large tents. There's also some kiddy games here for the younger crowd to play to get little trinkets and prizes. There is a seller from Germany that is always selling hats and the pins and feathers to go with them. It will always be busy, just wait your turn and ask questions. They're super helpful! They'll even measure your head for just the right size hat for you! There's a tent on the other side from the artisan area that has some gambling and adult games if that's your scene; pull tabs, black jack, poke, chuck-a-luck/big 6, mug slide, etc. There's tons of portapots and beer trucks scattered at every end and intersection. There is craft beer, including ciders scattered around, but the main beer ticket buying spot is right in the middle. They take cash or credit! There are bands playing all over the grounds; the gazebo normally has the traditional oompa-pa band, and local favorites who play a variety of music that everyone can dance and sing along to are in 2 tents opposite it. You never hear the bands over each other which is nice. There's plenty of picnic tables throughout the grounds, and they have a great parade Sunday afternoon around 2 that goes down the main Street. So it's definitely a festival for all ages. Just know it normally gets a little crazy later at night with half gallons of beer being passed around. It's definitely worth a drive to check out!

The lineup is diverse to the subgenres of country and I was excited that many performers that I think are ok pulled me in with fantastic performances. Cole Swindell and Lauren Alina did this for me. I of course thought Eric Church was the best. There was a bit of emotion with Montgomery Genty playing without Gentry and Eric Church losing his brother. The crowd blew me away. People we're generally nice people and everyone had a great time. This shocked me because there was so many highly intoxicated people, I figured there would be fights or people acting up. Generally the worst thing was getting a beer bath or someone stepping on your foot (which happens). It was fun to people watch, who knew there was so many ways to wear an American flag. The staff was respectful and helped with any questions when I called for information before the concert. Parking was also much closer than expected and reasonable in price. There is also some agencies that will drive people from hotels if you intend to drink. Food and beverage prices were better than any venue I ever seen. The cost of beer was 3, water was 2, etc. They also would allow people to buy cases. This venue also allows people to bring in food and drink as long as it is a small cooler. On the negatives, the line the first day was excessive. This seemed to be ironed out as they were trying to increase security for safety. I was in the gold circle and the security there were not checking wrist bands very well and there were many people in our section that weren't supposed to be making it very crowded. I did tell security who found some, but missed others. There was also some glass missed which made me nervous the person would fall and break it (I had flip flops on). I also didn't understand the gravel because it was fairly rough to walk on. Lastly, there was poor flow and not enough exits. This created bottlenecks and the feeling of being herded which can be nervewracking in a drunk crowd. Overall, the positives far outwayed the negatives. I enjoyed the festival and people. I am hoping to go next year.

My idea is to have a place for people to Drop off handicap people, then go find a place to park, and be able to pick them up at drop off point. we ended up getting picked up in the delivery lanes that were blocked off. Worked out well for us, but it needs to be for all!! I feel you're not accommodating the disabled and handicap people very well!

Snipping the red kickoff ribbon alongside festival workers and Executive Director Jack Hammer, Henry praised the yearly celebration as a transformative city staple. He recalled the festival's first run in 1969, when it was stationed along Columbia Street and mostly intended for business promotion. "Look what it has evolved to over the past 40 years - 500,000 people come into Fort Wayne every year and see what it has to offer," Henry said. He touted the nine-day event as helping "citizens rediscover Fort Wayne" who may take for granted the city's attractions. Now, the festival represents the intersection of proud heritage and forward-thinking development, Hammer added. He said selecting his most anticipated event is like choosing "which daughter I love more." Hammer eventually admitted RiverGames and International Village - two former offerings returning after brief hiatuses - will aid in breathing a "new life and new birth" into the usual lineup. For Henry, the lingering question had a more decisive response: He cited the Bed Race and the inventive methods teams employ to meet contest requirements as a personal delight. Of course, the mayor, who had to trade a fresh lemon shake-up and clamshell container of homemade sweets for the ribbon-cutting shears, also favors another festival essential. "We're standing at it - the nutritious food alley," Henry said. "This is always the fun place to be.
